    I'd love to hear your thoughts about this swag, I like it but if there is anything you'd like to know, ask ✌🏻

    Great presentation Chris. The down side makes you not want to purchase it! Stick to the classic Swag! Hope you are well.

      G'day Joseph, yeah, I am already defaulting back to it...creature of habit 😛

    Good review mate.
    Ive purchased this swag and really love it. I got rid of the air mattress and both pumps and replaced it with self inflating mat & pump it up with my Dometic gale 12v pump, it can be programmed to pump up any psi i want..i also use the same pump for my zempire shelter and zempire air tent my kids use. So pack away is allot easier. Less items to loose.

      Mate, that’s awesome. That is what I am planning to do as well, just make it a one stop shop. Mind you the mattress was bloody good even if it was huge and weighed a fair bit. Good luck, let me know if you have any other bright ideas, I’ll do a follow video and will include it ✌🏼

    Well, I ordered a 23Zero Dual Swag 900 today (+ awning poles). There’s a company in Utah that carries them here in the states. I’m really excited to get it & start using it! Thanks, Chris!

      Mate, you'll love it. Let me know how you go. The awning poles are a good add on too. Good luck and happy camping! ✌🏻

      thanks 🙂 It was a bit weird pulling it together and took long than it probably should have....much prefer to be out camping and talking with the kangaroos, thanks for stopping by as always ✌🏻

    Translates to about 200GBP. I like the concept. I have an airbeam tent.
    You could swap out the electric pump for a USB chargeable one.
    Nice upload Chris and a bit different

    • @outandabout_oz
      @outandabout_oz  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, I was looking at rechargeable pumps the other day for just that reason and there are some pretty small ones. It's still another thing to carry though. I was also looking at the bag inflators you can get for air mattresses that fold down flat. The swag itself you could probably blow up old school if needed, it's just what option you choose for the air pad.

    Great review, Chris. Thanks. If I didn’t have my 32Zero 900 barely used I’d seriously consider the San Hima. Agree with you about the cons - too many bits and the fragility of the hand pump are a worry. Also, I prefer to sit my swag on a folding stretcher to be up a bit higher and the San Hima would need a much wider stretcher than my current one which is already a XL single.

      Thanks Claude, appreciate the feedback and your 23Zero will never let you down. Mine is still as new after nearly five years so you have plenty of great nights ahead.
      These are cool too though, just depends on what you're after I guess. I like the comfort and the head height!
      Thanks for stopping by ✌🏻

    Seems pretty good but I prefer the look of the traditional canvas swags. All the parts would be different but if you have your car should be fine. Looks good in black. Tell us how it goes after a few months, that would be good to know!

    • @outandabout_oz
      @outandabout_oz  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      yeah, the colour is cool, I love the look of this thing and the head height and the overall comfort. They are the imnprohnt things I guess too.
      But yeah also about the canvas swags, they will always have a place, love them ✌🏻

    That awning should be wider than the mozzy net so it can be used in windy rain too

    • @outandabout_oz
      @outandabout_oz  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, that would be cool. I find that with my other swag too if it rains when I don't have a tarp up. Tricky though as the awning is also the canvas door so it would need to be a bigger door than the bug mesh. I did ponder whether or not I could add some tarp under the canvas awning that folds out a bit wider. You might be onto something ✌🏻

    I like them......but.....I have a darche dusk till dawn and I cant see any reason to change after watching your review, the main thing I liked was the extra head height. The old pole swags are just so easy to put up, 4 me 3min. So why spend the $$$.
    I reckon ur idea with the self inflating matress is a good one and worth a go, if this can be rolled alot smaller than the other swags and used 4 hiking or lets say on a motorcycle it could sway alot of people over.
    good review mate

    • @outandabout_oz
      @outandabout_oz  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      yeah, totally agree, nicely stated. It's comfy and being able to sit up is good. The air poles add some weight too, not much but it means it is a bit 'chunkier' than a normal swag. I suspect it will loosen up a bit after rolling it up a bunch of times. Time will tell. Darche do great stuff, you're on a winner there for sure.
      Thanks for dropping by and taking a minute to give your thoughts, appreciate it. Might do a follow up after a few months and see how it's all going ✌🏻

  • @michaelbrohl1625
    @michaelbrohl1625 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Could I just leave the deflated air mattress inside the swag and roll it all up ? Also, is there an R value on the matress?

    • @outandabout_oz
      @outandabout_oz  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah for sure and I am in the process of getting some modification gear together to do just that. Problem with that particular mattress though is it needs a pretty big pump to get it inflated. I have a small rechargeable one that doesn't work, hence why they give the 12V pump, so you have to use the car if you don't have a separate battery.
      Doesn't have an R rating, but I slept in it down to -3C with a good but not great sleeping bag and I was toasty. There is a lot of air under you. It's comfy bit of gear, but big ✌🏻

    great review Chriss . If I am ever in the market for a swag , you would be the person I would ask . If we are not bush camping , our Ford station wagon is our swag for now lol . Happy camping !

      Thanks for popping in, cheers ✌🏻

    690mm high ? It looks way higher than that.

    • @outandabout_oz
      @outandabout_oz  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      yeah, true, but there is a fat air mattress and also a 100mm pole running along the top full of air, so it is a bit deceiving. Still about 5" more than my canvas swag which means I can sit up in it comfortably ✌🏻

  • @stevej.6674
    @stevej.6674 5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Wow, so you can sit up in a swag thats only 690mm high? I’m 6 foot but i cant seem to sit up in an 850 high swag.
    On a different note, are you sure the mattress cant be pumped up with the same pump as the swag? Thats crazy needing 2 different pumps!
    In any case, great review vid!👏

    • @outandabout_oz
      @outandabout_oz  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yeah, it's weird but the 690mm high swag has the best "sit-up" design, so it seems to work for me. I'm only 5'10 though. My other swag is way too low, so I guess that was my main point 🙂
      The air mattress takes a lot of air, the hand pump takes about 7-8 minutes and that is a tedious 7-8 minutes too 😛 The 12V pump cuts the time down and means you can do other things while you wait.
      I did away with the air mattress even though it was very comfy. I did another video about some mods I made to this swag and put in a foam mattress which saved all that hassle. You'd even be able to sit up too as it was 120mm lower 😛
      Thanks for watching and I appreciate your reaching out, have a great day ✌🏻

    looks okay, bit of a gimmick maybe. The size if good but it weighs the same, what's the deal with that???

    • @outandabout_oz
      @outandabout_oz  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      yeah the swag itself it pretty heavy even when rolled up. There is a fair bit to the poles to make sure they're sturdy enough ✌🏻

    • @coolstar2398
      @coolstar2398 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm not sure if the weight is actually that far out there compared to it's competition. The San Hima double swag is 19.05kg, the Darche ad1400 is 16.5kg, the Crashpad double is 19kg and the 23 zero is 17.3. The San Hima has the biggest dimensions of the swags I have mentioned here along with the smallest pack size.

  • @Tentcl
    @Tentcl 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    If I ever can justify buying a swag it would definitely be something traditional and canvas, not this thing. If I wanted a modern gear I'd rather choose a tent or a bivvy.

    • @outandabout_oz
      @outandabout_oz  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      fair enough and I probably agree. These things are a great concept and a great idea and I am sure once they get it right, they will be on par and then it's a case of what is your situation. It has a lot of good points and they are probably the important things.
      Will be hard for these guys to break the shackles and convert people. I love my canvas swag. I also love my tent for when I am hiking and my bivvy when I want to watch the stars on a summer night.
      Thanks for stopping by and thanks for taking a minute to leave me your thoughts, appreciate it, cheers ✌🏻

    I don't understand why this v.s a freestanding tent thats like 1.5kg? Utterly pointless.

    • @outandabout_oz
      @outandabout_oz  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      yeah, I get that. Swags have a bit of a cult following I guess. I have a free standing tent and love it for hiking and all that. The swag is good for static camps, much sturdier and far more comfy than the tent. Horse for courses obviously. I also like just sleeping under a tarp when there is no bugs 🙂
      Thanks for stopping by and appreciate you taking a minute to leave your thoughts, cheers ✌🏻
