I have 140,000 on my 2013. I love the car but I am scared to death of water pump failure. The only things that have had to do besides regular maintenance is: replace ac/heater door actuators, replace rear driver door lock(you get door open light and the doors won’t lock). Replace brake light switch(cruise control won’t engage). This Edge has been a trouble free vehicle. The water pump replacement cost is around $2000. A friend of ours had an Explorer with the same engine and the water pump failed at 80,000 miles, had to have the motor replaced.
I would have it done preemptively if possible. A planned $2000 is better than a suprise engine replacement any day. I'm glad it's been great! Definitely be planning your next move. I know there is tough decisions to be made sometimes when we have high mileage cars we love. Hope you get many more miles of driving enjoyment! Thanks for watching!
