    I moved to Canada from the UK just over a year ago (my wife is Canadian so came over on a family PR). My job in the UK was very specific to the preservation of historic buildings that don't exist in North America so I was somewhat unsure of what to do for work. I considered getting either a truck or excavator license as these are things that are in demand but I ended up taking a job in construction. It's worked out great for me, the company started me on a reasonable rate and after only two weeks they gave me a very generous raise when they saw that I worked and was willing to learn. I have paid nothing in education although I have spent a fair amount of money on tools and equipment. After a year I have had another decent wage increase and looking at jobs in my area that ask for degrees or other expensive qualifications, I am earning more or similar to a lot of positions that would require a significant investment to achieve. I enjoy being outdoors and am fairly weather resistant so maybe it's not the job for those less inclined but it's worked well for me and would certainly recommend it as a path for newcomers, at least as a foot in the door of the Canadian employment market.

    I love your heartfelt honesty! Life is not easy and those who have the courage to leave their home countries to improve their lives are some of the most couragous people in the world. Life in Canada for native born Canadians is no easier, we all have to struggle to succeed and the myth that by simply moving to Canada will solve all of your problems is a lie. But people like you, are far more couragous than most Canadaians because you and people like you, are willing to work at jobs that others consider demeaning and below them. This nation was built by courageous immigrants who were willing to work, and will continue to be improved by people like you. Please remember most of this great country is not in the big cities, and there are plenty of jobs availble to those who are courageous enough to move to the rest of Canada to work. And frankly the nicest Canadians don't live in the big cities!

    Becoming a truck driver in Canada is actually easy. It's just because schools don't teach you necessarily things as you have to know when you finally hit the road like they do in Ontario. Inexperienced or young driver cause collisions and there's a high rate of collisions here. CBC repeatedly reports serious injury collisions on CBC as you can see. Don't underestimate this job as easy job.

    • @JeremyCrookWrites
      @JeremyCrookWrites 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When selling a product that people want, of quality, and adds value to their life sales can be done with a mindset of helping people. Helping them improve the quality of their life and reward themselves for their hard work. Manipulating people into buying something you’ll know they’ll be dissatisfied with is what gives all a bad rap.

    • @messinalyle4030
      @messinalyle4030 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JeremyCrookWrites Yes, but unfortunately a lot of bosses, at least in America where I live, seem to encourage their employees to pressure customers to buy things that they didn't ask for. Which is manipulation in the name of the profit of the company.
      I'm sure that a lot of employees would interact with customers more within the "helping people" mindset and less in the "how much cash can I shake out of you?" mindset if their bosses didn't pressure them to do the latter.
      It's fine to tell a customer about something that they might be interested in and might not know about, but otherwise, just conduct your business and let the customer go on their merry way.

    I will do ANY ANY ANY job....IF ONLY a company would just give me a job offer while I am still in South Africa. I am going into Express Entry in Mid-December. Do you know of any companies who would do that?

    • @nikolaip.9944
      @nikolaip.9944 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      the gist of this video is that these jobs are *easy* to get into. so nobody would bother with hiring a foreigner. you have to get to canada first.

    • @jacgrobbelaar2425
      @jacgrobbelaar2425 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nikolai P. Sure I absolutely understand that, but I also know that cerain companies have an LMIA to hire foreign workers...and for some people...their CRS score does not even allow them to get to Canada * as you suggest*; thus, the only option available is to get a job while still in their home country. I am on the fringe as far as CRS score is concerned, therefore I have to try everything in order to get a job there while still in S.A.
