    Thanks for nice video.
    I wish I would have seen this before I purchased the Avata. Living in LA/California I can not fly the Avata in a lot of places I want to because of the dam zone restrictions and having to be tied to my dam phone SUCKS, it is a deal breaker.
    My Avata is going back for a refund I am done with DJI., only had it a few days. iFlight lets get some better flight time, and better charging methods like Rimzler suggested than you can start competing with DJI. I am buying one of these. I have the older Protek 25, I decided to try the DJI Avata, bad choice due to restrictions.

    People compare this to the Avata but I don't really think they are competitors. They do look somewhat alike but that's where it ends. The Avata is a DJI drone with all the bells and whistles that come with being a DJI drone. For people who really don't want to lose their drone and they aren't yet super experienced pilots, the Avata gives you WAY more. The fact that you can fly it is Normal, Sport, or Acro means you can learn at your own pace and minimize risk. The Avata flies WAY longer at over 20 minutes per battery. The Avata is running DJI's Ocusync so it flies much farther and if it failsafes, it will just fly back to you. The downside of the Avata is the tight controls on where you can and can't take off and fly. Also, my Avatas do a weird thing where I will be flying in manual and if I get "too far and too high" (that's the message I get) then it brakes and forces me back into Normal mode. I don't know why that is but both of mine to it and my DJI FPV drones also do that.
    So, just my thoughts on the comparison. The Avata is a great drone with some drawbacks. I don't have a Defender (yet) but from what I can tell, it is a nice little zoomy whoop, but the Avata is a better, all around drone for a beginner or even just for specific needs like high risk area flying (cliffs, above dense forests or other plant growth, over water) where you really need it to come back if it failsafes.
    I really enjoy your videos! Keep it up!

    What would you choose between Cinelog20, Defender25 or Avata for real estate cinewhoop? Convenience and ease of use to be able to plug and play are most important to me, so I can be ready to shoot and charge without hassles.
    Not interested in acro or the lightest setup, as I will be mostly flying indoor anyway in slow, controlled manner.

    I’m thinking of getting one of these as my first steps into ‘real’ fpv Kwads.
    I fly dji fpv and Avata currently. I was originally planning on getting the Nazgûl but think this might be a better first option.
    I was going to buy a tbs tango 2 for a controller but what would people recommend between that, the iflight controller or just using my dji fpv remote 2?
    I’ve heard some people say that it’s better to get the crossfire version rather than using my dji remote.
    I will probably get more kwads in the future and will want them all the same so I don’t mind spending on a separate controller at this point rather than find out out later on and then having different Kwads on different setups.
    what’s the best option to get with a defender 25 as a newb coming from dji and Avata.

    • @Rimzler
      @Rimzler  ปีที่แล้ว

      So the downsides of using the DJI remote from the avata (hope it will get fixed with updates) is that when you switch between Avata and o3 you have to bind the radio again, it's just inconvenient but not crazy bad, another issue is that theoretically the radio could go further than video signal, but don't know why when you lose video also rc signal is lost for about 5 seconds, then picks up the signal again even without video (really hope they fix it), with elrs or crossfire you still have control over your drone and can throttle up when losing video hoping to recover it,but again is a last chance scenario as losing video is very bad usually and 80% of times you will crash anyway.
      Hoping they fix this 2 inconveniences having one radio do all is the best for backpacking, also you don't need to mount an extra receiver and antenna in every drone, cheaper and much more convenient! I have bought a remote 2 myself and will be trying if I like it or not, even without having an Avata

    • @h-dawg969
      @h-dawg969 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Rimzler Thank you for the explanation. I was only worrying as I e seen some people have issues with the DJI remote on a Chinera 7. It lost connection and crashed o to water. I think it was Originaldobo. The after the fact conversation with iFlight was seemingly useless as well.
      My logic was that if I get a defender 25 with crossfire and buy the tbs tango 2, I will continue to use this remote when I add to my fleet in the future, so thought that seemed like the best idea. Buy the defender 25 on its own, and make sure to choose the crossfire option and then I’ll have that remote specifically for iFlight, and keep my dji remote separate. It would be good to use one controller for all of them, but I could keep my Avata and Dji fpv and use the new set up with the defender, and then a Nazgûl in the future when I’ve gotten more confidence with flying.
      I fly in Manual mode now, but still use normal or sports mode when coming in and landing, so the defender 25 will be a good little option to get used to flying outside of a Dji system with all its safety and rth etc.
      I just don’t want to purchase something, choose crossfire or elrs and then realise I’ve made a mistake after, and I know nothing about fpv and beta flight etc apart from Avata and Dji potato.

    • @Rimzler
      @Rimzler  ปีที่แล้ว

      When DJI adds features or releases products there are always kinks to be ironed out, always have to wait a few months before buying, hope they fixed the issue with latest updates, i can't wait to get my radio to test out!
      Both crossfire and expresslrs are great option, also take a look into elrs as it's open source, feature packed and comes in all shapes and products!

    I have to agree that the design of these proprietary batteries leaves a lot to be desired. The *only advantage to these is that they clip into the frame, so you don't have to use a battery strap. In all other aspects they are *less practical* than standard LiPos! At least with the Avata, the batteries charge (and self-discharge) automatically, and are much more convenient to use (at least with the Fly More kit). Yes, they cost way too much, but at least their particular proprietary design offers some actual advantages over regular LiPos. With these Defender 25 batteries, there is no clear or logical reason for their proprietary design. Not even extra flight time. WTF, iFlight???

    • @_tcmore
      @_tcmore ปีที่แล้ว +1

      iFlight is only making changes like these to make their drones look more like a consumer product. They want it to look more appealing to the masses and not look like something you have to slap together yourself. For everyone already in FPV yes it is kind of dumb though. At least they didn't make it impossible to use other lipos if you so choose.

    • @Rimzler
      @Rimzler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe adding BMS would make them much cooler, and providing a multi charge rail, probably even more proprietary but more practival for traveling, but also would drive up the cost and there is no real integration with drone software, like a beginner can still overdischarge and damage the lipo unlike dji stuff
      But yeah at least putting the usbc charger in the charging plate would be dope and still doable

    • @Rimzler
      @Rimzler  ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe they will release the equivalent but in 3.5 inch size still with the proprietary batteries, this is to appeal to a broader market as it looks more industrial and less homemade i believe
      Still the batteries are compatible with other drones, they are just long but work great on the explorer lr for example, and you can still use any lipo you want on it, just have to find a way to mount it lol
