    Was pondering about the Avata for a while and now, they sell it just on its own so may buy it new or used just for a play around as already have the goggles v2 and stick controller that came with their first FPV drone, as for range it does not matter that much since the battery does not last long enough to get few km away and back and it's best no to fly too far anyway.

    Great vid....I have the pro combo with the newer V2 goggles and they fit my fat face really well 😂 I have been using only the MC up until now but after 4 weeks of waiting my FPV controller 2 finally arrived , hoping to get out this weekend and try it out properly, I had a quick go when it turned up but the weather was bad...only sport mode so far for me, a few weeks on the sim before I go near manual mode

      Nice! The FPV controller is definitely the way to go ye.
      Go with TRYPFPV or something like that on steam if you have steam and a computer that is.
      I think tryp is much better as it has more of those open spaces and its really true to life.
      You can just plug the fpv controller using usb as well.
      The DJI virtual app is really bad in comparison

    Great video, I wish I knew about the Avata before purchasing my Air2s. I had/have a DJI mini which wasn't too bad for capturing some automotive racing events, but it was very limited in capability and the main reason I bought it for was to chase competitors at off-road racing events. I was told it was the fastest non-custom drone at the time I bought it.
    I've found the Air2s is great for wider view shots higher up, getting a wider view of the track or surrounding scenery, or moving in to pan through a section of corners or hovering in wait for slower speed chases. I've captured some pretty cool clips of competitors planting their foot off the start line, belting through creek crossings, tackling technical sections and launching over jumps to a flying finish, but it's just way too slow for any close up vehicles chases.
    I love the DJI Air2s film quality though, it's a little clunky to operate at times, but I probably don't fly it often enough.
    After watching a few videos on the Avata, it looks like it might be a good choice to cover me for chasing vehicles close behind at higher speeds without diving into a custom FPV.

      @robinhannevig  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely. You also have everything you need as ready-to-fly once you get one. including the prop guards which helps if any impact should occur.
      I have a video from Hawaii coming soon which migh give or take, depending on what you want to achieve from this drone., but worth taking a look at when it´s up and live 👍

    Loved your video overall.
    I've had it for about 3 weeks now, and my co-workers and I love flying it.
    I'm passing this video onto them.
    I use the motion controller 2 and goggles 2, which this model came with.
    It's raining here and wondering if I should try flying it in the rain, or should I 3D print a cover to channel the rain water away from the sensitive parts that might make it inoperable.
    Thanks for making this video, and I hope to read/see more.

    It would be nice if Avata was quieter and the battery life was longer. I already have dji mini 3 pro and 4 pro, I absolutely love both drones. This past year, I flew mini 3 pro for hundreds of hours and captured amazing footages. I bought mini 4 pro and left mini 3 pro at my mom’s house which I visit frequently, that way, I don’t have to carry anything! 😃
    What I like about mini 4 pro is the cruise control which helps me get even more professional looking footage!
    Now, I am considering Avata as I would like to get into FPV as well. But I am still on the fence… haven’t decided yet….

    I'm a newbie looking for his first drone and since the FPV experience is so exhilarating to see and must certainly to use, I'll probably go get an Avata. I understand that a lot you experienced pilots like to use the "normal" controller instead of the "motion stick", since you're quite used to it. But I'm left wondering if the "motion stick" can't do something an ordinary controller can do. Also, should I wait for the Avata 2 which is set to be on the market for April 11th 2024?

    13:17 · The issues I hear about the Goggles 2 in terms of uncomfortable fit at the nose and screen blurriness at the edge of the lenses is the only thing holding me back on jumping on an Avata combo. Now with the Goggles Integra I'm especially torn between going for the Explorer combo (which has Integra) versus the Smart combo (with Goggles V2). Do you think the new features outweigh the disadvantages with the Integra?

    • @robinhannevig
      @robinhannevig  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Im not sure. I still have to get my hands on the integra.
      But i have no issues with how the goggles fit or performs on my face 🙂 but im a bit torn between the two as i started using v2 a but more so for my next trip i think ill bring the v2 only tbh

    • @canyonblue737-8
      @canyonblue737-8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      there are very few disadvantages to the Integra... it doesn't have the LED screen on the outside (no loss), it doesn't have the touchpad (manual buttons are better anyway), it doesn't have the on the fly focal adjustment (actually better since it doesn't get bumped out of place, unless you often give the goggles to someone else), it doesn't let you watch videos in the googles via wifi (who does that, have you every heard anyone do that?). what it does have it crystal clear edge to image! (huge), GPS and battery integrated (huge!), additional comfort (huge!) and cheaper (I am mean that's good right?)

    • @ccc3
      @ccc3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@canyonblue737-8Integra also loses removable antennas. You can get maybe 10%-15% more with custom directional antennas. So if you absolutely need to squeeze every drop of range, the G2 may be the better choice.

    How do you get in a vehicle and fly the drone? You don't worry about. They returned to home function. And where it starts from, it gets its bearing. So, like, when you're up in the air and you're looking down, you can see the H. For home. But it allows you to Fly the drone in a vehicle riding behind it. I wondered if it could do that. I used to do that with my RC cars.
