Same, how I wish I could go back in the past
listen to kevins advice
Omg I just got nostalgia and yearning to go back watching this and exact same thoughts came to my mind and than i see your comment.
I just started watching it again. Reminds me of the simpler times when I was a kid. Good old 90's.
where do you watch it?

Me too, Im actually watching it :) Season 2.
Ive been watching Northern Exposure. Reminds me of better times. Yes the 90s ruled
Oooh it was a wonderful time
Loved this show. One of the best series of all time for sure.
What a suprise to find you here! Definitely my favourite too! I was around 5 years old when this was big hit on TV!
i agree
no way i just realised that was gggman hahaha
Hey man, how are you nowadays? Your comment is sooo old that I wanted to ask this hahaha
To this day, your statement still stayed powerfully true
Well, for me, Kevin Sorbo will be only true Hercules :-)
Azért Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) se volt rossz...
After 12 years, I still didn't changed my opinion.
@@warrax111 well well well here I am. Greek woman and loved Hercules. Greetings from Greece and happy new year!!!!

It's 2023 and it is still one of the best shows ever! Kevin Sorbo bossed it perfectly. LEGEND!
One of the legendary 90s show that you won't be "DISAPPOINTED" to watch 😂
@@lordwarryl5712 I watch it at least once a year, same with LOTR. It just gets better with each season. Sorbo deserved a lot of awards for his role.
this and Xena was my childhood. Good times, I miss it
And Buffy, and Angel. My 4 favorite shows.
It's 2022 and this is still one of the best intros of all time
This is how Thor 5 should opening.
i was so young when this came out this and xena used to be my favourite shows
Yes i was watching xena again and it reminds me this. also lost world with tree house !
Mine too, I was 5 years old when this was shown on television.
@@eleanorhogan8643 I was around 10 when this show and Xena were popular. I grew up poor in a small, remote and dusty town in South Africa, and I barely understood English. Buy Xena and Hercules were my favourite shows.
@@MosesMatsepane Mine too.
Evertime we watched I use to wish I could go in the tv and be with them. Childhood memories I miss watching as a child.
The best Hercules! He kept his body in shape despite having various injuries on set in the 7 years of filming! He was steroid free 100% natural, unlike today's actors that are 150% steroids and crash diets, before and during filming..
Yep and he looked good💪💪
We grew up Well . We come back and listen to these theme songs and unlock a beautiful time in our lives the world is shit today...
Man, take me back to 1995. Kevin Sorbo is based af as well, what a true legend.
Super based. Makes me appreciate this show even more.
This is the story of a time long ago. A time of myth and legend when the ancient Gods were petty and cruel and they plagued mankind with suffering. Only one man dared to challenge their power...Hercules. Hercules possessed a strength the world had never seen. A strength surpassed only by the power of his heart. He journeyed the Earth battling the minions of his wicked stepmother, Hera, the all-powerful Queen of the Gods. But wherever there was evil, wherever an innocent would suffer, there would be...HERCULES.
What was never addressed was that Hera hated Hercules because his name means "Glory of Hera".
@@seanakizuki That's not why Hera hated Hercules, she hated him because he reminded her of Zeus' infidelity.
@@Bmhtsos18 Zeus had so many bastards yet it was Hercules who suffered the most. His name after all meant something that insulted Hera.
@@seanakizuki Yeah, it means Hera's glory and Hera considered this an insult. By the way Hercules is the roman name, the greek name is Herakles.
@@seanakizuki indeed hera were jealous of Hercules and even his name shows the same. Means the one who steal hera"s glory
What a great time to be a kid. I'm so grateful I lived this era
They simply don't make em like this no more! We also had the likes of Mortal Kombat Conquest
*Best intro to any series of all time, period*
"No Ancient Greek Myths were seriously harmed during the production of this series, although some stories were slightly altered for the entertainment and enjoyment of our audience."
This explains how Xena killed Mercury (the God, not the singer) crushing him with a wardrobe

True
Absolutely!
Both Xena and Hercules had the best intros of 90s.
As a grown ass 38 year old......I really wana go back to the good old 90s and be a kid again .
This was and is the best embodiment of Hercules ever.
"When the gods where petty and cruel and they plagued mankind with suffering". Good to see that those guys still around
This intro brings a tear to my eye. I'm Greek. Ever since I can remember, my grandmother would sit me on her lap as a 4-year old toddler and tell me the stories of Herakles. The stories of a man who was blessed with immense, divine strength due to his divine heritage, but still used his brains more than his brawn.
How he thought of burning the stumps of the severed Hydra heads so they don't grow back. How he realised he could not damage the Nemean Lion due to its impenetrable hide, so he resorted to using his bare hands to strangle it. He then proceeded to skin the Nemean Lion and use its impenetrable hide as his armour. He dipped his arrows in the Hydra's corpse, infusing them with venom, making them super deadly, even capable of killing other divine beasts. How he beat Antaeus, a Giant, son of the god Poseidon and the Titan Gaia, by out-smarting him. He realised that while the Giant stood on solid ground, he was empowered by his own mother, Gaia. So what does our boy Herakles do? He literally lifts him over his head and throws him in a river. Away from the ocean and the seas (Poseidon's domain), away from the Earth itself (Gaia's domain), he got the giant de-powered enough where he could wrestle him & beat him. If that's not proof of insane battle IQ, then I don't know what is.
Herakles is the O.G superhero. The one with the power to move mountains, who still uses his ingenuity and his brains when the situation calls for it. The man who chose the path of good, of righteousness, when the whole world (literally) was against him. Hell, his story BEGINS with him being possessed by the Furies, murdering his own wife & kids, and seeking redemption from the Oracle of Delphi. He starts off on the lowest point a man can start at, as the murderer of his own family. Yet, through his Labours, and his close friendship with his friend Iolaus, he persevered. He even went on to help Jason and the rest of the Argonauts on the suicide mission to recover the Golden Fleece. He persevered so well that upon his death, Zeus offered him a spot on Olympus.
And this show captured ALL of that. With utmost respect to the O.G Greek myths & legends, they made this a show for children. A show where the teachings of the Ancient Greek myth were transferred to the next generation, 3,000 years later. It makes me so happy that so many children around the world learned & enjoyed the stories of Herakles, just like I enjoyed them when my grandmother was telling them to me as a child. Thank you Kevin Sorbo and thank you New Zealand for producing such an amazing series.
no fucking way! i was in love with this show as a youngin i used to tape the episodes and watch them over and over
this made me so happy to see this thank you for posting this!
How do you feel about your comment 11 years ago
The new Hercules 2014 ruined it for me...they did not even try to replicate this original in the new version.
bro how are u? 13 years ago comment
Who else got the creeps, when you saw Hera's eyes, the falling peacock feather and that creepy soundeffect, when they intodruced Hera? It is still terrefying even to this day. No wonder because Sam Raimi did this series.
You're the only human being that has said that besides me
That was giving me the creeps too as a kid. And to think that Hera is the goddess of family...
There is many actors about Hercules Dwayne Johnson, John Henningan & Arnold Schwarzenegger... but no one is better then Kevin Sorbo!!
I have never seen Disney's Hércules, so this show and Kevin Sorbo introduced me to the character. Too bad what Kratos did to him 😢😢😢
Childhood memories! An inspiration for me !
Had to get the whole boxset on DVD it was hard to get but managed it great show..CLASSIC
This remains one of the great bits of theme music on TV
Very true, even after 25 years, the theme music still remained deep in my memory
true!!
I cried a bit listening to it 😅
We use to watch these with my brother when we were kids and we always waiting when we can see all these clips... so...
You know the feeling when these intro clips, which episodes etc they have been, has been haunting you last 23 years and finally your nightmares are over.
My childhood memories 😭
Ah Hercules, my childhood form of escapism. I remember cosplaying as Hercules for years for EVERY casual day back in primary school without so much as a drop of shame, I loved this!
A Wonderful Heroic Wisdom Theme Score.
In the early 2000's in PNG, every Sabbath on a Saturday at 6, we would turn the TV on to this nostalgic TV Show.
I love Hercules forever
Good old Tv series days 🥲👏
Ahead of it’s time.
Hercules and Xena I miss Saturday night tv as a kid
This show was by far my favorite in my childhood. It was one of a kind and no other show ever captured its magic again. To this day. Xena came close but Hercules was better.
Kevin Sorbo is the best TV Hercules... the GOAT.
Simpler innocent times.
