In a hot climate country roaches are common. In a cold weather place like new york. Once the found roach which is unusual, actually domolished the house because of it.
The hired help pressing the buttons in the elevators in the malls are actually stewards and attendants to help the disabled, seniors, people with children or cargo. Also, they discourage reckless behavior and horseplay from unruly customers. Some of them might actually be security guards wearing store uniforms.
The security/elevator people also make sure to assist and prioritize the seniors, pregnant women, disabled, parents with toddlers, people with shopping carts. The rest who are able use escalators or the stairs.
Well they put those jobs to help people get jobs. Also if you don’t have elevator operators some people play around up and down. For your roaches concern, every time you move to humid places even here in Las Vegas and California is alot of roaches
@rexsandiego7135 Good point about job creation! Though in other countries, elevators seem to manage fine without operators, and people don’t really play around. It's my frustration as well in the Philippines as someone in low carb diet for more than a year now. In many restaurants, you have no option to remove rice in the menu. They will charge you with the same price even if you don't get the rice. I always order 2 dishes because most meals are actually just more of a rice and less the dish. I came to realize the worrying amount of net carbs or sugar I was consuming daily in normal Filipino diet. It's not surprising that we have a shorter life span. There are already a number of Filipinos who are eating healthy. Hopefully, we will grow in the number to force restaurants and other food companies to change the way they conduct business and lower down cost of healthy products.
It's not a la carte pricing. Rice comes with main course like potatoes in American restos. Taking it out doesn't change the price of your plate. Some restos I've been to rice is not included, they usually ask if I want rice.
@@JAB63050 Often times, restaurants who offer ala carte are those in mid range market, which most Filipinos cannot eat at daily. If you don't include rice, they would assume it's for take out. Karenderyas price the rice and dish separately but there are not a lot of Karenderyas in commercial districts where offices are located. They are usually in residential areas. Their food are also pre-cooked and are usually not reheated before serving.
@arniebella22000 I totally get your frustration! It's tough sticking to a low-carb diet with so many rice-heavy meals. I think American influence has led to a lot of junk food in Filipino eating habits, which makes it harder. While I don’t think rice itself is bad-it can be a healthy carb like in Japanese diets-I hope we see more options for healthier meals in the future!
Asia exists today from eating rice and will continue to exist long after you. It is soooooo horrific 🙄. You continue to wreck yourself and stop projecting your weakness on other people and cultures
Rice is staple food in the Philippines. Normally Filipinos eat rice at least 3 times a day. So it is impossible to cancel rice for the general Filipino population's food consumption. Citing eating rice contributes to shorter lifespan of Filipinos is debatable and needs statistics for proof of facts. 😊
I respectfully disagree about the plastic. I'm not putting down my ethnicity, but when it comes to cleanliness, particularly on public roadways, we're far from pristine.
@kolinstewart1254 I totally agree that the streets could be cleaner! What I meant about plastic use is that living in Europe, you often get unlimited plastic bags at supermarkets and drinks in plastic cups with straws at fast-food chains. It’s improving, but I was pleasantly surprised that the Philippines is ahead in those areas! Also, I noticed that rubbish sorting is still pretty rare, while I saw many people doing it here in the Philippines, and I’ve started doing it too!
@Miguel_angel6791 Interesting! I’ve heard about the growing Russian communities, especially in Cebu. Definitely makes connecting easier with shared beliefs!

Regarding food, is it not fascinating how a tropical archipelago rich in vegetation and fruits consume more unhealthy artificial food than what is already available naturally? It is mostly because of western influence, particularly the U.S. If you look at the South East Asian nations, Philippines is probably on top of the list when it comes to consumption of Fast food and basically unhealthy food. You probably don't know this but there are a LOT of Filipinos who do not eat fresh fruits and even cooked vegetables.
@ninkichan7209 Absolutely fascinating! It’s surprising how a tropical paradise with so much natural produce ends up consuming more unhealthy, processed foods. The western influence, especially from the U.S., really plays a big role in that. It’s eye-opening to see how many Filipinos don’t incorporate fresh fruits and cooked vegetables into their diets!
@@LoveLiveDiscover If you go to Jollibee in Vietnam, you will see that their menu looks a lot greener, meaning there are lots more veggies on the burger as opposed to the typical Jollibee menu in the Philippines. That is most like because Vietnamese people really love eating fresh veggies and if Jollibee does not put veggies on their menu then no one will come to eat.
@allanbalbuena3659 True, roaches are part of tropical life! 😄 But I’m not talking about the big flying ones outside. The small ones indoors seem way more common in the Philippines.
My parents got to live 92 and 88 years old eating rice because rice is life, in fact, they ate sweet fresh fruits and sweet desserts when these were available. We're not into diet styles like what other countries have where diets are becoming their religion😂. Cockroaches? Did you research about tropical countries having those of any sizes? It doesn't shock me that foreigners talk condescending about their bad and shocking experiences in the Phils and yet, they stay for a while or even live in the country. 😮
@julietajohnston8601 Glad to hear your parents enjoyed a healthy lifestyle! From what I’ve seen, though, younger people here don’t seem as focused on healthy eating. no they just put diapher when they ran their dog outside coz if a security or marshall catch your dog poo they will ask you to pick it up.
we filipinos go to church some times to meet someone to be our GF or BF in the future.. 😂😂😂..
we do not care what we eat here as long as it is good and delicious!!! 😂😂😂
Also, I noticed that rubbish sorting is still pretty rare, while I saw many people doing it here in the Philippines, and I’ve started doing it too!
we eat dogs here.. they were so delicious!!! specially when you cooked them.. like caldereta.. 😂😂😂
Beware! Because if you get caught may kaso ka dyan na animal cruelty!😮
@@pingyu5141Aside in animal cruelty, they might eat the dog with rabbies...MOST pinoys are NOT eating dog.😮😮
Black coffee for foreigners 😁
@Chumarie4w I like latte, not black, just no sugar 😀
Growing Russian communities now in Mindanao and cebu. It's more easy to Russians to live and relate because Russian are Christians.
@Miguel_angel6791 Interesting! I’ve heard about the growing Russian communities, especially in Cebu. Definitely makes connecting easier with shared beliefs!
There's a Russian village in samal island in Davao.
@snowtyboy Although I am Russian, JJ is not, so we prefer staying in places with international expat communities. But interesting to know, thanks :)

Dubai is a Muslim country whereas Philippines is a Catholic country no comparison please explore more about the Philippines and you'll love the vountry😊
@gengen0108 Each country has its own unique culture and charm. I’m excited to explore more of the Philippines 😊
they only use diapers if they bring the dogs inside the malls 😅
in case of the dogs, blame paws (philippine animal welfare society) for it.... in northern philippines especial in the mountainous area people love to eat dogs...🤣😂😅
Where do you come from ? Your accent is different from American or British !
@alfredosanchez7736 I’m originally from Moscow, Russia, but for the past 10 years, I’ve been living in Cyprus-where my husband is from-during the summers, and spending winters in Asia.
at 4:14 , she said, "the next shocking thing which is really positive to me is..."
she mentioned religion first before the thing she called positive. so she believes that being a Christian country in Asia is not positive?
@IamLion2000 For me, the religion of a country isn’t really the main focus-I’m more interested in the culture and everyday life. 😊
I noticed you live in Amisa it’s Punta Engano barangay of Lapu Lapu Macan island and it’s the second last condo on the edge of that island and getting there and going out is nightmare, how I know is ii lived there for a month in 2020 and even it’s a nice condo, but it’s location kills it. my rent was 15k pesos back then but now we have 3 bedroom house in gated subdivision also here Lapu Lapu and we paying 20k i’m sure you guys soon will move out of there.

@WorldTravelerCA it`s actually in EDSA Mandaluyong City. Great location, 5 minutes to BGC and Makati by taxi.
The biggest catholic country in Asia.
@Miguel_angel6791 Yes, it’s amazing how strong the Catholic influence is here! You can feel it everywhere.
Ya thats why foreigner like to live here because a biggest mall.
Catholic and Christian
no plastic?? go to public market.. you see so much plastic bag there... 😂😂😂
Cockroaches are delicious, they are also eaten here in the Philippines, so there are many cockroaches
@Pogi-Na-Gwapo Really? I haven’t actually seen them in markets here, but that’s interesting to know!
@ninkichan7209 that`s so interesting! Thanks for sharing
Religion makes people afraid of committing sins. Less crime and unruly in the Public.
@DeborahOlson-r2n That’s an interesting point!
Well roaches are part of the population in the tropical countries like Philippines 🇵🇭 lol
@allanbalbuena3659 True, roaches are part of tropical life! 😄 But I’m not talking about the big flying ones outside. The small ones indoors seem way more common in the Philippines.
We considered our pets as our Fur babies, and you must be responsible to take care of them...
@abetskychua Adorable 😊 Same in my country-our pets are like family too! But they usually stay at home; we don’t take them everywhere with us.
And about the cockroaches-those small ones indoors seem more about waste management than the climate. I didn’t see so many in other Southeast Asian countries with similar weather.
The Catholic churches funded by the government is overtaken by the most beautiful and very clean churches of the Iglesia Ni Cristo.😊😊😊
According to an INC member 😂
@@pingyu5141he is entitled to his personal opinion.
FYI the Catholic church was never been funded by the government. Catholic church is self-sustaining.
INC is a business by the Manalo family right? They even fight over it.
and yes we have plenty of cockroaches and rats here..😂😂😂..
Truth be said, there are more cockroaches in NYC than the entire nation of the PH...
@UrbanSipfly Never been to America, but you might be right :)
@LoveLiveDiscover I discovered a bug repellent secret via TH-cam that I will employ the same day that my wife and I choose to settle down long term, and that is to use WD-40!
The original purpose of WD-40 (I believe is to lubricate metal objects that come into contact with each other, but it also turns out to be the ideal bug repellent too.
@LoveLiveDiscover You must visit the USA for the adventure of it from California to New York and discover how different we from each other are!
@UrbanSipfly That’s an interesting tip! I’ve heard of using WD-40 for various purposes, but bug repellent is a new one for me! It’s great to find creative solutions like that 🙂
@UrbanSipfly That sounds like an amazing adventure! Experiencing it firsthand would be unforgettable!
❤❤❤
Roaches are mostly in places unclean. There are lots of clean places in the metro, especially upscale ones. Looking at your background, I dont see a single roach. But you need to learn to live with it.
CHRISTIAN X ROMAN CATHOLIC IS MORE FAR DIFFERENT RELIGION... ROMAN CATHOLIC IS A RELIGION... CATHOLIC ARE PEOPLE... CHRISTIAN IS A DIFFERENT RELIGION...LIKE BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN... ITS FAR DIFFERENT BETWEEN THESE 2 RELIGIONS...
@RaizelEtrama-ef7mj There are indeed various branches of Christianity, including Orthodox and Protestant denominations, each with its own beliefs. It’s fascinating to see the diversity within religions!
Ipis )cockroaches 🪳 are so annoying 😅
@Chumarie4w totally agree

@ferdinendcaparino4837 Absolutely agree! The Philippines is amazing! ❤🌴
Really? Maybe you can visit a healthier place.
@jovelpatricio3649 I didn’t want to offend anyone; I just hope the Philippines embraces healthier eating habits soon as the world moves in that direction ✌️
@@LoveLiveDiscover You are not offending anybody. Philippines and the people are open. Say everything and we listen. We love people and foreigners. Might be nicer and helpful to visit other places.
Don't eat the roaches, fried maybe.
