@@billyjohnson9166 Really. When they went outside he had Dexter in front of him and Justin right behind him. They went outside to fight and it was two on 1. Someone tried to stop Justin inside the Coffee shop by grabbing his shirt but he pulled away. The words were Let's take it outside and it was 2 on 1 walking out that door. Moreover the video shows Justin turned around in his seat instigating the altercation. All I know is if I have one person who wants to fight in front of me and another right behind me I am not going to let either of them hit me first. Maybe you think it's okay to call one man's wife a 304 and her sister engaged to another foreign man a 304. Then refers to the parents as selling their daughters in return for major improvements to their house. This was the chismis spread by Justin and Dexter. Personally I would have just told the father and men in the two daughter's Barangay.

If it ever gets to the point that I can't live in the Phil's on $3,000 a month I'll give TH-cam a shot. Otherwise my plan is to live a low key retirement to avoid trolls. After having met both Justin and Mike of Mikes Dauin Beach Resort in person I found Mike to be another choice for Dive training and certification. I would recommend interviewing him as well. I found him a professional, respectful and mature dive shop owner. He is a successful family man from the US as-well w 3 kids. His Padi Dive training is more flexible and accommodating to many needs. His shop even offers Padi training courses partly on-line for those w limited schedules. it’s good to investigate the various dive shop options.

Our family's primary purpose for coming to the Philippines is mostly economical. We've never lived affluently, nor do we want to. I think things are going to get even more expensive as time goes on, so we just feel that we should live as frugally as possible and the Philippines seems like a very good place to try and do that. Secondly, our family embraces a peaceful life, and we'd like to continue that as well as make good close friends, lifelong friends, and to be left alone to live that peaceful life among friends for the rest of our lives.

One of your Best as I came to see if I could live there and traveled some of the islands and then I actually came to Dumaguete to meet some TH-camrs and got turned off by them at Ground Zero. Then I met some Filipinos and really clicked; then I met my Girlfriend and all of a sudden my focus changed as All I wanted was PEACE and NO STRESS.. So all of a sudden Sleepy Quiet Duma completely won me over and I'm now moving there in July and while my best friend from the States lives in Cebu, and other friends are up there or elsewhere that is the Life they want. I just want to keep my head down, and be a piece of sand on the beach and just be kind and good to those around me and those i encounter as I AM a reflection of how i treat those I see and meet everyday and just want to greet them with a smile and leave them with a positive note. Your a Good Man Mike and Jan is a doll who has truly blossomed and I avoid the whole Mark & Dexter incident and those gossiping as it so high school and beneath 99% of expats. Let's lift each other up and not compare or tear each other down as there will always be someone Bigger, richer, smarter taller etc. just Be Happy with yourself and who you are is my motto and this is exactly what i believe this video also shows. Great video Mike, there’s also a relatively new name: WHORAGUETE. This had to do with the new batch of Filipina TH-camrs behaving badly. We have the wife of a well know expat youtuber who mainly does bikini videos in a very despicable way. They could be done with certain class, but this lady doesn’t have any shame showcasing young, teenager Filipinas shaking their “assets”. Shame.
Then we have another young Filipina, single mother, who I believe is in the process of getting her K1 visa to USA, but is resourcing to 2 and 3 live streams daily, showing lots of skin or doing work outs wearing almost nothing or very short garments.
Some female locals are certainly contributing towards Dumaguete notoriety. Best to you and Janet.

Lived in Thailand for 16 yrs ..I avoided most Ex-pats due to too many bring their hostility & confrontation attitudes with them. I love Asian culture, food, respect and kindness ...I also love a quiet peaceful respectful life. Finally did find teachers, aid workers and a few retired professionals who were "like-minded" ..I can't understand WHY those who seem to love confrontation back in the states seem hang together here and make life difficult for others.

Great video, Mike. I'm starting my 4th month here - 5 if you include my boots-on-the-ground visit last July. I truly love this town.
I'm living in Piapi near over off EJ Blanco and feel like everything is just minutes away by trike. We haven't gotten a scooter or car yet, and due to my age (68) I'm hesitant to do the scooter thing. I know lots of guys do it, but I enjoy the trikes, and we've never had to wait longer than 5 minutes for one to come by. I am considering renting a car for some 2-3-day short vacations in the area, though.
One of the episodes I think you may be alluding to is a fight at a local coffee shop. I've been there exactly once, and that was it.
I go to Multifit, a gym here in town, and I like it. Yes, some days, there are only foreigners there, and other days, very few of us. Either way, I put in my earphones, play my blues music, and don't talk to anyone. I like that gym because everyone does their own thing, and nobody gets bothered. It's air conditioned, and they've got really great machines that are well maintained. Their senior citizen rate is only P1,465/month, and I go 5 days a week, walking from my place with my girlfriend (about a mile), and while I'm working out, she goes exploring and/or shopping. There are multiple markets and vegetable stands as well as drug stores all along there.
Other than the gym, I don't see a lot of foreigners around, just at the Robinson's mall, and even then, not so many. Those bloggers that say Dumaguete is overrun with them maybe don't have a good perspective, or they just spend time together where the foreigners spend time together - at bars and coffee shops and such.
I really enjoy walking around downtown, and seeing and experiencing the hustle and bustle of daily life in the city. I love that almost ALL the signage is in English. Sure, I notice that building standards are different here than in the US, but I understand why, and I respect it. This is not the US.
I just got my teeth cleaned at a great dentist's office here in town, and the cleaning (done by a dentist, not a technician) was really fast. I was seen almost before I sat down and I was 30 minutes early for my appointment (which I got from a phone call last week - not a 3 month wait like the US). Xray (modern equipment) showed I needed a tooth repaired that chipped and that was done the same hour as the cleaning. I spent a total of 45 minutes there and paid only P6k, including a special mouth rinse. The deductible would have been more than that in the US and I would have had 2 separate appointments. I couldn't be more happy with the service, price, and professionalism.
I pay more than the so-called average Joe for my rent (P28k), but we have great amenities, and are in a secure compound with family neighbors that we like and who like us. Someone is bound to respond to this comment with something derogatory about what we pay for rent, Mike, but we really don't care, do we? We worked hard for the last 50+ years, and if we can afford it, well, screw 'em.
Still working on my SRRV with C & G Consulting (Heidi, et al). Looks like I'll be making another trip to Cebu soon for some kind of PRA swearing in or oath taking thing, but that's ok. We'll plan a little Cebu vacation around it whenever it's scheduled.
Thanks for all you do, and say "Hi" to Janet from Don and Chi!

He described my life to a T here in Puerto Princesa, Palawa. I don't run around the Philippines visiting every tourist spot although I do travel to Manila a few times each year for shopping and enjoy what a big city can provide. I do not hang out in the bars - I've never been much of a drinker. Not so much of a womaniser, chasing every skirt in town but I do have some relationships. I do not strive to climb the social ladder in the expat community, but I do have a few expat friends I meet 2 to 4 times a month. I have plenty of local friends I meet with weekly.
My life is built on a routine. I feel secure in maintaining my routine. I have a nice house that I fixed up to my liking - very comfortable. I have househelp that has been with me for 4 years. We have a trusting relationship.I keep up my garden. I stay within my budget and able to set aside some for savings every month. I do my cooking. I go for morning walks and do the gym. I live in peace. I thank God for all he has given me. I am blessed.
