Most of It's attacks are dodgeable with enough time learning. my biggest gripe is that the grab killed me at 1700 hp(51 Vigor)and that it has so many attack that can either be cancelled or added on to othere, like the double twirl into head butt, into the spinning around on 2 legs spewing whatever element it has. And when it lies down and chomps either 1, 2 ir 3 times depending on where the player is. the small arena, the crazy zoning it does and the fact that the delays are either suuuuuper long or not at all like the lightning spear and the single chomp close range. when all is said and done I loved the macabre yet cool design, the godly visuals and the absolute best OST they've done in a while. really fit the dancing theme and the rapid tempo it would fuck me at. 120k runes for this shit and 350k for Mohg is braindead.
I was also raging because of the camera bs and the similar looking attacks, but your issue with getting knocked down and being punished for roll recovering is simple enough to remedy. Just don't roll as soon as you get knocked down. Wait for it's next attack and then roll. More often than not the attacks that knock you down are designed to have a followup roll catch, but also have a window for healing afterwards if you're patient.
Unfortunately I did it solo with dryleaf fist, it was just a skill issue It would be nice if you didn't have to at all, but locking off at certain times makes the camera problems 100x better
Definitely on my top 5 hardest souls bosses and I've played all games, lots of new players love to complain about the difficulty of the dlc but it's a real treat for us long fans of the series
Minus the camera, this boss was fucking awesome. The music syncs, how the moves seemingly are designed to make you dance, the element changes. All awesome.
*Strumpet. And it’s a person who has many sexual relations. By the dialogue alone, whoever summoned the Divine Beast to rise was referring to how much of a slut Marika is (since she did the mommy-daddy dance with both Godfrey AND Radagon), not knowing full-well it was the Hornsent her people died by, and why Messmer the Impaler launched a crusade.
I did finally beat it after like 2 hours and 51 attempts. Same Weapon tho but didnt use scado-fragments. Its an amazing boss and the loot is really worth it. In the main game the only boss i needed more time and attempts was malenia. But now im exhausted and need a break from SotE
I spent three hours using the pole blade but there just weren’t any windows to punish using the blood dance without getting absolutely manhandled … well done!
Such incredible boss fight and the sync with the music is just so nice. If only I don't have to fight the camera. Seriously tho, this DLC taught me when to not locking on.
The boss is so phenomenal. It’s very chaotic (especially in the lightning phrase), but oh my god is it such a spectacular fight. It really is a performance, in all respects of the word. All that is missing is an audience.
Wtf!!! I started my run in NG+3 and that lion boss can kill me with one shot, that's crazy how I learned every patron of attack for reach the second phase with my bloodhound fang
Street Fighter 2 Announcer: Double KO!!! It's crazy seeing these bosses and then going back to Dark Souls and seeing stuff like Artorias who was considered quite difficult for the time and just seeing how much harder/complex bosses have gotten since then.
This boss is SO fun when the camera actually fucking works lmao It doesn't ruin the boss outright but man it'd be way better if the camera didn't struggle to keep up with him or get caught on walls
Good boss after dying like 10 times I got him with a poise break and he had 1 HP I knew it was over and it felt sooo good. Arena needs to be a tad bigger though the camera can get wonky
This is an unfair boss for 2 very specific reasons: 1. The camera 2. The lightning phase: when he does the full 4 attack combo (the one that ends with thr breath), because he summons lightning, the 2nd and 3rd attack are not dodgeable because you will get struck by lightning when coming out of the roll. The only way to counter it is to run away as much as possible, but that has 2 other problems: the arena is too small (you can get cornered into the wall) and it incentivices a passive gameplay which is one of the main problems with ER
yeah, I'm interested to see how people no-hit the boss without literally 1 or 2-shotting it with cheese, because lightning seems impossible without incredible luck. You have like 3 or 4 hurtboxes popping up all over you, all around your i-frames. So how exactly are you supposed to avoid it?
The way the music syncs to his elemental phasing is so awesome. Took me about 7 tries on my shitty build. Awesome spectacle boss, but in hindsight that camera makes learning its attacks awful. It's okay if you're just trying to beat it, but doing well or going for a hitless attempt for personal achievement is going to be a pain the higher the game cycles go.
I kept wondering whether you are supposed to stack buffs and 1-shot its second phase, lol. Because I'm not sure what the answer to lightning is even though I defeated the boss. It just blankets the arena semi-randomly. Combined with his physical attacks, sometimes I don't see how you can possibly survive if you get unlucky.
had no idea this mf could steal your health if you heal after that grab attack. that grab one shot me every time lol that is insane design. we are so back
I’m 100% calling it that the 1st patch for this DLC will be nerfing this boss dramatically. Unless you summon good luck beating it legit 😂 Even pre-patched Radahn wasn’t as OP as this boss was.
Nah when you learn his move set he becomes ridiculously easy tbh just alot of dodging. Y’all need to stop crying for nerfs cuz you’re bad. You’re ruining the game
@@marvinragen how do you "just dodge" lightning phase? Everything else, sure but that? I'm genuinely curious, because it doesn't seem possible to evade damage reliably.
It has human-like teeth behind the Lion teeth and it's jaw is unhinged held up by human hands and it's eyes are unnaturally dim light blue with no pupil or sclera and it's Lion face has smooth human-like edges where it doesn't seem right, and the cutscene look it gives you is also just unsettling as hell. it's mane is also like long human hair that falls instead of being rough bristles that jot out in the directions they grow.
Good things about this fight: -Banger ost (obviously) -I love the design of the boss Bad things about this fight: -Too much running around trying to catch up to the boss -Wonky camera -Can't tell if he's simply moving or attacking (at least for me)
I can’t be sure but the Scadutree buff scales 99% of the damage you deal. In terms of the damage you take from the boss, that seems about right for any level. I’m on NG1 level 150 and that’s pretty much how it is.
I just beat him and I am level 193 on NG+ 1 and he could 3 shot me if I wasn’t careful, I had some of the new buffs for the dlc so I’m sure that helped a bit too.
this boss is insanely hard and demoralizing for the first 1.30 hours of me fighting him. Insanely fast and he always 2 shot me. But once i figure out the pattern, it became one of the most fun bosses i had to fight in a while, still took me 4 hours to beat tho ☠

peak gaming, literally i cant remember when i was this hyped while any boss fight
Definitely on my top 5 hardest souls bosses and I've played all games, lots of new players love to complain about the difficulty of the dlc but it's a real treat for us long fans of the series
The OST is absolutely insane
I hated this Boss but after beating i really to fight him again, that moment when he fly and activate the lightening was so epic
I beat this boss recently. Super fun fight, though that lightning phase is pretty brutal.
Ice phase is the worse for me
I prefer that over Ice phase DX
@@TheAshenOne1815 agreed
I guess I’m the only one who hates his wind phase the most. His slams have such huge aoes in that form, and they all knock you down.
Just got to this boss, and the fight is insane. From lightning to frostbite and crazy thrust attacks. Insane
Love you guys finished each other off simultaneously
Pause
Minus the camera, this boss was fucking awesome. The music syncs, how the moves seemingly are designed to make you dance, the element changes. All awesome.
Aye do yall know what a STROMPET IS?!? 😂😂😂
This whole fight hits different now that I actually know what the boss hides under its armor
2:27 this part is so cinematic, the way the boss moves along with the music is peak boss fight in my opinion.
I just spent 1.5 hours fighting this thing on ng level 90 with the reduvia. Definitely coolest boss I’ve seen so far. Love this game
Great video. This is such a great first boss for the DLC. I sadly had to use the mimic tear to finally defeat him tho.
This is peak example of why Fromsoft always make the best designs. Incredible world building while being extremely unique and creative
They knew what they were doing with the lightning bolt attack. Lmao. Tricking you to believe they're delayed like Radagons😂. Thanks Michael Zaki
You guys were dancing! I can't wait to face him he's so beautiful!
everybody gangsta till the dancing lion pulls out the lightning spear
The chomp in the opening scene is terrifying oh my god props to sound design
absolutely terrifying intro cutscene. That roar!!
if next year Chinese New Year celebration, someone cosplaying this gonna b epic
My first real boss from the DLC and it doesn't disappoint, awesome fight and spectacle
An actual relatable boss kill.
I did finally beat it after like 2 hours and 51 attempts. Same Weapon tho but didnt use scado-fragments. Its an amazing boss and the loot is really worth it. In the main game the only boss i needed more time and attempts was malenia. But now im exhausted and need a break from SotE
This boss is brutal but incredible. The soundtrack is otherworldly good and he’s just terrifying.
This was an amazing fight, I loved it. Super cool and the music is dope af.
I just defeated him…. I honestly loved the background music. This DLC is going to be peak
I spent three hours using the pole blade but there just weren’t any windows to punish using the blood dance without getting absolutely manhandled … well done!
Where do we go afterwards, the next part blocked by shadow?
You go somewhere else lol
Yeah I went and found the Ghost flame Dragon… good times.
@@karubottlefingers Same. it can kill me in 1 attack :)
@@karubottlefingersjust stick by his legs and jump
Is so unreal the subtle chinese flute music mixed with elden ring esque orchestra goes so fucking hard
Does this boss steal your heal or something? I saw red trails fly into him when you drank a flask
Yep. When he used his flask, it’s health regenerated. Oh dear god…
The back dude was flaunting it all 1:33 😂 also good job!! Hard ass boss
This fight was so cool
I was just thinking that. Like when you go back and do Nameless King and it's a joke now. Back in the day he was the peak.
Tarnished fights beast: Inhabitants of the city getting annoyed by the frequent weather changes ⛈️->🌪️->❄️
I absolutely love this boss. My fav boss in the game so far
the ost is banger lmao, divine beast dancing camera
This boss is SO fun when the camera actually fucking works lmao
It doesn't ruin the boss outright but man it'd be way better if the camera didn't struggle to keep up with him or get caught on walls
An alternate timeline:
Where Gaming's dad truly thinks Lion Dancing was a joke.
Good boss after dying like 10 times I got him with a poise break and he had 1 HP I knew it was over and it felt sooo good. Arena needs to be a tad bigger though the camera can get wonky
Realized I’ll have to go bleed build for this dlc.
Was trying to stay with my Carian Sword Sorcerer Knight build but it’s not worth the headache.
A truly poetic finish to a great battle
The first time i saw his tornado attack i was so amazed i forgot to dodge😂
This is an unfair boss for 2 very specific reasons:
1. The camera
I have been enthralled and in love with this design ever since the first trailer and the fight didn't disappoint.
Combined with his physical attacks, sometimes I don't see how you can possibly survive if you get unlucky.
had no idea this mf could steal your health if you heal after that grab attack. that grab one shot me every time lol that is insane design. we are so back
I found a good cheese strategy for him. Greatshield Soldier Spirit Ash + Rykard's Blasphemous Blade. Easy as. Don't even need to get hit.
I’ll try beat this boss tomorrow. Got tired of dying. lol
I’m 100% calling it that the 1st patch for this DLC will be nerfing this boss dramatically. Unless you summon good luck beating it legit 😂
Even pre-patched Radahn wasn’t as OP as this boss was.
Since this thing was in the trailer I don´t mind getting spoiled on it too much...
it´s face unsettles me for some reason though
It has human-like teeth behind the Lion teeth and it's jaw is unhinged held up by human hands and it's eyes are unnaturally dim light blue with no pupil or sclera and it's Lion face has smooth human-like edges where it doesn't seem right, and the cutscene look it gives you is also just unsettling as hell. it's mane is also like long human hair that falls instead of being rough bristles that jot out in the directions they grow.
Good things about this fight:
-Banger ost (obviously)
-I love the design of the boss
Bad things about this fight:
-Too much running around trying to catch up to the boss
-Wonky camera
-Can't tell if he's simply moving or attacking (at least for me)
That soundtrack goes insane
New game plus I beat him in 10 tries. The most frustrating thing fighting him was fighting the camera 😂
The soundtrack on this boss is amazing
I love this Boss
I’m on ng+9 vigor 99 still got 2 tap seriously should I just load a new game 😮💨
I think so unfortunately
Ya you probably should. Unless you’re going for a hitless run
Im ng6 and is rly hard eith 2 big hammer
i cant unsee the 2 people being "the" dancing lion 😂.
Once you get the attack patterns down he gets easier. Sad for my faith build though lol all the freaking elements I use he's resistant to them😅😅😅
this boss is insanely hard and demoralizing for the first 1.30 hours of me fighting him. Insanely fast and he always 2 shot me. But once i figure out the pattern, it became one of the most fun bosses i had to fight in a while, still took me 4 hours to beat tho ☠
