What if i dont keep them extremely close to each other or i leave one centimeter distance from each other will it work? Can you change the alarm like a ringtone ti notify me instead of that beep
I think the max is about half centimetre apart. I tried changing the alarm tone but it doesn't look like you can in the app. You might be able to do it through the IFTTT app.

And his circuit idea uses only 4mA just for a second while sending code and than at 0.5uA in standby mode. Seems battery would last much much longer.
I like how it was programmed as Garage Back Door and failed at testing, and after the video transition it said Side Gate 😂
Better reprogram Sonoff Bridge (Tasmota) and use other door sensors, because this one don't send code when door are closed - only when open.

What's the battery life like on the sensor?
Well it's almost December 2020 now & I haven't changed any batteries so that well over a year.
