At a very high level, I'd be interested on why you like Sonoff vs Shelly.
Shelly is great. I like the company they have nice products. But to be honest I usually cover thing that are sent to me. For some reason I lost the contact with Shelly. The marketing person I was in touch with left the company and the new person never contacted me again. I never got any new products and I lost focus. But the flexibility and the local communication in Shelly is great.
again: what is the reason that you prefere cloud smart home vs i.e. Home Assistant with everything local?
But what if he wants to control it remotely?
@@dobithezkiyy3504 where is the problem of controlling remotely Home Assistant? Million options:
1- HA cloud
2- VPN
3- tunnel
4- port forward
5- reverse proxy
and probably 5 more there (more or less secure)
I don't. I started playing around with Sonoff stuff a long time ago, and I kinda kept making videos. Home Assistant is great, but there are much better creators who are expert in Home Assistant. I am not therefore I am focusing on these type of content. I think there are still lot of people who don't want to go down to the Home Assistant route because it feels too complicated. But I am also all for local control, and everything I do in my home is local control.
@@csongorvarga But, brother, you have A GIFT of nice teaching - I saw your series of Node Red - I learned a lot from it! Lots of HA "youtubers" are now for... money. sponsors, PCBway etc - they don't talk to beginners anymore - and you have GREAT IDEAS! USE THEM! ;-)
Hello I'm John, i follow your channel. I'm shortly started with Sonoff zigbee and wifi (coming from 10 yrs zwave). I have an iHost but when i connect my zigbee devices they don't appear in te eWelink app. I allready installed eWelink smarthome and homebridge following your instructions in a previous video of yours. What i'm doing wrong ?
My understanding was that the integration only makes the Wifi devices in eWelink sync to the iHost. It does not host the iHost devices to eWeLink. Or at least it did not do it when I tested it.
@@csongorvarga Thank you for your answer, I also experience difficulties with other than Sonoff zigbee devices some connect but won't work and some (Innr) are extreme lagging and even Hue is not properly working I bought this as an overall zigbee bridge but it is a bit disappointing
