This series feels like what Star Wars felt like when it first came out. A huge technical achievement, but more importantly a huge universe where explanations are up to us and everything was designed and used by humans like us.
I had similar thoughts! The word atmospheric came to mind. The tech has come a loooong way in the past 45 yrs, so it makes sense that this is so much more immersive. Also partly bc we've all seen the Orig Trilogy films so many times, and all the special features, we know exactly where the curtain is and what's behind it. The only new SW series/film that has been able to replicate the authenticity of the originals while expanding on their scope using the new tech is Andor.
@@horusreloaded6387 uh well Star Wars pioneered several things like THX for standardized sound across theaters and ILM did a lot of new things and greatly improved on old techniques and Dynamo Dream is a technical achievement in that one person did so much vfx in a relatively short time that looks really good. It makes so much sense, and the sound is so freaking satisfying too. Ugh, dang it Ian Hubert such a masterpiece!
It's kind of a real thing. "Pulsed Inductive Thruster". The real version needs a central nozzle on each thruster, to distribute propellant over the coil, but apart from that you absolutely could build little drones with dozens of tiny thrusters in a grid, and maneuver with differential thrust by simply not firing the thrusters on one side. PIT is one of the more practical ways to do plasma propulsion, because it doesn't use an electrode (which means it's not vulnerable to erosion) and if you need more power you just do more pulses per second. Also very flexible when it comes to fuel, since it can run on pretty much any gas. You could take off from earth with tanks full of argon, stop by an asteroid to refill with ice, and briefly drop into Mars' atmosphere on the way back to refill with carbon dioxide. It's not a lot of thrust per pulse though, so the limiting factor is going to be electricity. The batteries that charge the thruster's capacitors would need to be recharged either from solar panels or something like a small nuclear reactor. Both the solar panels and the large radiators the reactor would need would be awfully heavy, which makes the small thrust from the thruster an even bigger issue.
The amount of care and polish, not to mention time and effort that goes into this project, simply amazes me. I'm rooting for you, Ian & the team! I love how you're building your world 🙂

The movement on the space ship, from the navigation to the ship itself as it shifts around was beyond impressive!
Love all the Old Future look of the tech, too, very cool! Absolutely fabulous work!
wOw! Dude! This is so goooood! The first episode was already great, but now you even leveled it up and i´m all in for whatever comes next! Exciting story, fascinating views of an outstanding futuristic world, i love the characters...can´t wait to follow this story and hopefully a lot more upcoming episodes
Incredible job! I couldn't imagine making something this impressive, you should be proud!
This is so good! Congrats Ian and team !
I’m mind blown it’s finally out! Ian great work!
Great visuals and sound design. This was awesome!
This is all just so crazy good, beautiful work and love the "knda a story" arc so far, too. Amazing work. Just so so good. I am totally in love with the Dynamo Dream
IAN IS A LEGEND. This is so good inspiration. The art you make is just incredible!
As an artists and as a viewer, i have just one word to say, UNBELIEVABLE!
Whoa that came out of nowhere. Dropped everything immediately 😁
Just incredible stuff!!! The visuals, the very unique aesthetics. But what I probably love the most is the intriguing story and world building.
Ian, you did it again! 👏👏👏
Little touches like the subtitles saying "[Space Jazz]" and "[Space phone rings]" and "[Every Alert]" are perfection.
Watching this felt like watching A New Hope for the first time! Just amazing all across the board. I love how we get to learn about this word in so subtle yet genius ways. You can feel the painstaking detail put into each and every shot. The world feels original and unique. The visuals serve the story so well and I can't wait to see this story progress. I can't express in words how inspiring your work is. Love this so much!
LOVING the references to Axel Rubix. I can't wait until I understand what's going on with this franchise
Underrated comment!
So happy episode 2 is finally out! You and everyone involved did a great job on this one, thanks for showing everyone what blender can really do!
Such a stunningly well-realized space craft. So many tiny details, and the mix of analog+the holograms is amazing. Just had to pause at the chair forming from the floor panels to post this. Beautiful work.
I'm honestly just impressed with how much this maintains the feel of the original Dynamo episodes. It really fits in so well!
Excited to watch this, replayed the first ep dozens of times.
This shit is just insane. I am amazed in every way possible. And hooked for the following episodes.
Absolutely amazing. It's been such a ride to watch this slowly come together over the past couple years on the patreon. Worth the wait!!
this feels like a William Gibson short story come to life, absolutely amazing and such a great feel and tone. The escape scene alone was top tier work. I also love the juxtaposition of vibes from the first episode (which was also amazing). Please keep creating Ian, you are truly an inspiring and super-talented artist.
I love the just full on sci-fi the full mystery of not knowing about the universe and just little hits that are dropped. Like looking out a window to a world we know nothing about as we drive by.
THE MASTER is BACK with another Masterpiece!!!! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Imagine if Hollywood actually put this much care into its projects
Oh, we’re aware of Pete.
Incredible. Beautiful as always. Great rendition of a black hole. The further these worlds develop, it only twists things further in the best way. Always looking forward to everything you throw at us. Thanks for all of it. Inspiring stuff .
No no no......listen the amount of people who do not realise the amount of time it takes to procure such a masterpiece. I envy you good sir. Thank you
Absolutely amazing, as expected. Incredible work.
