When you want to save your harder combos for later but the judges kick you out

Not the worst tricking battle call of all time. Just very close

Well the first round is debatable… second round goes to Tiki by a MILE and third round is debatable again…
Tiki should‘ve taken the win for his execution in my opinion. I think they gave it to Tristan because Tiki messed up on the dub swing. Pretty sure he wanted to dubdub but couldn’t so he did cork round and you can tell… but I still think he should’ve won. It would be interesting to hear the judges take on why they chose him

@@NoahPetekDamn… First time watching the clip back and Tiki should have definitely won. In the moment I didn’t question it at all and thought that first round was a fair call but after watching it back it’s actually not even close 😂 I’d find Tristan’s combo sooo much easier and the execution is worse. I think it’s because we all know how good Tiki is and expect him to do the hardest shit imaginable 😂 I can’t blame the judges for this one though because in the moment it did really feel like it made sense 🤷🏾‍♂️

@@NoahPetek yeah like I said, not the worst call but still tiki obviously beat Tristan here. I think this exposes the flaws in the round by round system. Not that that time based is any better but.

@@KojosTrickLabagree… it felt different in the moment. Bad calls happen and will always happen. But I do also think we should place a bit more emphasis on execution in general.
I’m so glad the site is back up btw and I can‘t wait to watch the Ultimate Tricker :)

Thanks, bro, for sharing this interresting battle.
The issue with Tricking’s combo of 800 moves is that you only need to recall the entrance and exit. Tristan's entrance and exit surpass Tiki's in the first and third rounds.
Additionnaly, it raises another issue with this battle format where it clearly favors the one who goes second. Let me explain ; Tiki underestimates his opponent and throws fewer moves than he is capable of. Tristan capitalizes on his advantage by going second, allowing him to adjust his combo to Tiki's, taking his time by controling the rythm and his response time so then he could counter Tiki's hype.
Tricking’s battle is a show, a science, It’s not only what you do, it’s how, when and where you do it.
Good calls from the judges. Not Kerwoods and Antillas ;)

That’s why Zen shine when he response. A good solution would be if you win the point, you go first for the next round. @Hookedtournament if you’re reading this ;)

I agree with part of your statement but Tiki should’ve won! The whole combo and the execution is very important! If you‘re just judging the entrance and exit you shouldn’t be judging at all! And yes the show is part of it but the combo is more important and it‘s not like Tristan put on a crazy show.

Yes, they are pro trickers; the execution and combos from both are technically impressive. Tiki performs meta combos that people love, while Tristan is more traditional. They’re perfect in there style. What I'm saying is that at this level, the difference is made by the entrance and exit. You have to finish strong. In the third round, perhaps the most debated but still obvious, Tristan responded with an entrance using a cart dubdub to cancel Tiki’s exit, Dub cork st cork round. Then, he finished strong with a dub dleg, the last move that judges and the crowd will remember. Once again, exit strong is crucial, making the crowd attentive. Judges need to make quick decisions. It's not like football with video assistance. Even with that, it's evident that Tristan has won. Hope it makes sense ;)

I'm sorry, but Tristan shouldn't have won that battle.
You talk about Science and you're right.
You're forgetting to take into account Flow, rhythmic control, aesthetics, creativity and the variety of combos on offer.
Flow and rhythmic control alone are underestimated by far too many judges, because it's a real performance to achieve.
Far too many judges don't know anything about martial arts and don't know how to assess the quality and aesthetics of a kick compared to another. But these same judges are capable of distinguishing a double cork less well executed than another, but in kick ? Flow? I find that very often they can't...
This is science, and to be able to analyse it, you'd need to have the rigour, open-mindedness and seriousness to study all aspects of tricking seriously!
Biomechanics is a science that's already been worked out, as is the science of kicks, flow, the preservation of rhythm, which has been explored quite a bit...
Based on this, you can draw up a serious and coherent scale by imagining all the possible scenarios:
Powermove superior to Flow? Why would that be?
Well, it depends. For an equivalent Powermove, whoever has a better flow, aesthetics, rhythm and creativity wins...
There are lots of examples, and it would be good to anticipate them.
But it's clear that most Tricking judges aren't interested...
It's a pity, because that is detrimental to the development of tricking....

I feel like FS have been the Meta for too long recently (as much as the corkshuriken cutter trend spam for example), and to see combinaison like doubleB vs9 st9 is refreshing. Just like double Cork Dleg which is unusual to see.
