Pinto has harder tricks and way more aesthetics in his tricks as well. pinto is on another level. both did good, but com on... pinto is a beast. one of the best in the world

He's just way less talented and skilled and it shows.

I must be missing something, cause the crowd is losing their SHIT after the grey shirt dude, and I'm like "meh, the other guy looked way cooler to me".
Obviously both are doing insane stuff I can't even fathom though.

If Jacob Pinto was judging he would have voted for the person who didn't touch the ground. 100%.
Standards are strict at the highest level and falling down isn't acceptable. It was a turn based match after all not a timed one which means if you mess up on your turn, and the other responds that turn with a pass where they don't fall, they take the point. It's hard to justify that someone can fall down and still win the round when someone landed perhaps a lesser combo but didn't mess up even once.
Though Pinto would have won if he didn't fall down, Tristan took the 3rd pass IMO as well as the 1st pass. 2/3 points I would award to Tristan.
Tristan wins but sometimes we get not the best judging calls. Everyone even the crowd knew it.
Tristan was cool but he was lack of consistency,the more he do his tricks the less power he has.It seems like he got tired.
On the otherhand,Jacob was a beast,his technique was great,his body was fast,the combo looked smooth and he got his consistency throughout the battle which made him stand above his opponent a whole level

Definitely the best battle in Hooked.
Overall, this was for Pinto. However, last round should have been for Tristan because he didn't fall
difficult to say who wins! i would have done draw and see an additional round
Jacob won the round and Tristan won in spirit by putting up a fight in face of the impossible; the result was the best possible outcome, in my opninion.
+Daniel Green Do you think being pushy means disrespectful? Tristan and Jacob are both very invested in their battle, which is very nice to watch. I dont think there is any lack of respect, from both sides. By the way Tristan is actually a very humble person.

Pinto taunts Tristan by giving him a power move to 1-up.
Tristan easily wins the 1st round and shows he isn't anyone to be messed around with. (0-1 win on strategy)
Pinto easily wins the 2nd round because he insta-responds with the final move of Tristan's combo cleaner and 1-ups it. (1-1 not only does he win by pure technicality, also strategy/improvisation-wise)
Tristan responds with a fairly standard combo with predictable transitions. (honestly...boring filler for this battle imho)
Pinto goes for technicality and stumbles on the last move....Tristan should have won the last round due to a ridiculous powermove 1-up. (1-2 win on beast mode)
BUT...Tristan's non-verbal communication sucked (body posture / gestures / taunts), battles are part about spirit and Pinto couldn't be a better example of great non-verbal communication, strategy and improvisation when it comes to battles. Everything from the point-your-toes gestures to the walking close to Tristan when he starts his combo is very slick, calculated yet respectful. He is ridiculously on-point when it comes to response timing and also his 1-ups are a quick, appropriate and direct response.
Tristan's attitude shows: I'm a good tricker and I'm going to do some hard moves which you have to acknowledge.
Pinto's whole attitude CLEARLY shows: come hit me with whatcha got and I'll do it better, harder and cleaner. (THIS imho is battling)
Even though this is a small part it does count a little bit.
You could agrue Pinto won, you could argue Tristan won, you could argue it's a tie.
+Daniel Green I agree, and I don't see any point in (others here) pointing out that Tristan is "actually" a very humble person; they both are very humble and nice guys, I talked with both at Hooked, and the attitude is just part of the game. We all know that, or should know that.
Tristan was def the underdog, and the audience just wanted to see someone stick up to Pinto. That's exactly what they got and Pinto won the round, everything went pretty perfectly.

Tristan needs to make his kicks look cleaner. if you're considering it martial arts tricking, he already lost because of the bent knee in his kicks.

Once I awhile there’s something different. Where’s the originality? Where’s the combo’s no ones seen before? Finding the uniqueness in ourselves, and amplifying that is the best thing we can do coming into thi next generation.

Not to mention the hand on the ground at the end.
If we consider the battle round by round and that a missed figure taints the whole round (you aim too high then you lose) then Tristant wins.
The Americans tend to think that you can try the heavy movements but no penalty if you play too high, that's why they voted Pinto ....
