I really enjoy your videos but I just want to mention why you shouldn’t use dawn dish soap for this. The fast explanation is that dawn is a type of surfactant (like many dish or laundry detergents) that requires a lot of rinsing- even when used in tiny amounts. Even with powerful home wet vacs it very difficult to get it all out on a molecular level. Using things like dawn will make this soap reactivate with very small amounts of humidity or moisture and make the seat act like a cleaning cloth that will “clean” things by collecting the dirt and trapping it in the seat. I’d use the same method, but with dedicated carpet shampoos (anionic) because even if residue is left behind it isn’t going to be pulling in dirt. Dawn is still great for hard surfaces though as you can fully rinse those. I could go into more depth but I know people get annoyed when there’s too much to read in a comment lol.
omg thanks for the tip!! i grew up in a household with little to no understanding of cleaning properly/ using the right product for the job. basically everything is a job for lysol lol. but i wanna make my things last in my own home and part of that is maintenance, so tips like this are invaluable to me!!
@@four1629 I’ll be honest, it’s taken me a long time to learn as much as I have but it’s been useful. I grew up in a house that was very clean, but in my opinion “over-cleaned” and sometimes used too harsh a chemical for the job. The simplest example being scrubbing the tub with a green scrubber and bleach when it really just needed a softer scrub with dish soap or another degreaser, and after that was washed a spray of bleach or something to kill bacteria that could cause mold. The scrubbing with bleach damaged the finish of the and made it more difficult to clean and get dirty quicker. It’s really hard to know what to do because there are so many cleaning channels that are well-intentioned but misinformed. And the thing is that most of them have really solid advice about most things. If you want to ask how to clean specific things just drop a reply and I’ll help you best I can. It helps if it’s kind of detailed though (like what type of material it is) so I can be accurate. The most important thing is to just do a quick google with your products to see if they’re safe for what you’re trying to use them for, and be VERY CAREFUL mixing chemicals or using them in close range or one after the other. Ammonia and bleach is extremely dangerous when mixed. But the fumes linger so if you sprayed the bathtub with bleach and let it soak and started spraying an ammonia-based glass cleaner on the mirror, that would be those two chemical’s fumes mixing, and it would be dangerous. Sorry this got long lol. But btw don’t be ashamed or worry about not learning this from growing up. We’re all constantly learning new things and evolving. And honestly most of this I learned as an adult despite growing up in a house that did teach a lot about cleaning. My products have changed more than my methods, but generally I’m only as aggressive as necessary to get it clean so I can avoid damaging things.
Yo can you make some actual videos about how to clean the main things like toilet, stovetop, carpet that sorta thing so we can find it when we need it? Love ya work dude keep em coming xoxo
Thank you for this video! I was thrilled to come across it because I have the same seats and have struggled to clean them. Your method worked perfectly!
I been wanting to clean my vehicle seats, I bought my car from a nice couple, no hate to them, I want to restore the vehicle in any way I can, so thanks for posting this
That’s exactly happened to my truck seat , I did clean with drill brush & extractor at least 3times , but after dry , came back on , and do it again and back again …. Thanks for advice
😮 Does using a spray fabric protector help to prevent future stains? Or at least not to the depth without?? Look how much more dirty it was! Amazing!! 💕💕💕💕
Did an interior for a customer and a couple days after they call bk n explained this same thing ...first time im experiencing this ...really hope this helps
Hey did it help? I am a car Detailer and I am really scared to do the extraction because this has happened to me a lot and I’ve been trying to find a way to try to avoid it from happening
@juancarrillo5677 hey bro, yessss yess it did help, trick is to try and not get the seat too moist, well wet. Use the solution in a spray bottle drill brush steamer helps alot when that's done let that seat get enough sun light n always check your work.
I wish I had one of those. I spent like 2/3 days scrubbing my seats and flooring. Still have some spots to get rid of it's been a long process but that thing woulda probably got it done in a matter of mins.
I have this on hallway carpet. The carpets were professionally cleaned and now look wirseythan before. Ive bought a carpet cleaner myself now. So, should I treat first with this mixture, then clean the carpets?
So how do I get rid of a light mildew smell? Does It’s have dried but then the wet spots came back up and it has a small smell, how can I get rid of asap
I need your services!!!!! I can’t seem to remove the smell of cat urine out of my passenger car seat. It’s so bad! I got it “professionally” cleaned but idk what happened.
I had a Subaru with these seats and they were sooo stained, I’d been looking for a video of someone actually getting them clean forever. now that I sold that car a week ago, this video pops up😅😅😅

I knew that if.i used dawn, it could leave a residue if not rinsed thoroughly, but I never knew the science behind it. This was a great tip
What would you use instead of his mix?

It’s the Hoover clean slate if you never figured it out, I bought mine and boom it’s amazing
@@jeanchen194 Yeah I bought mine off of ebay and they sent me two for the price of one lol
Solid advice Also you can use something like p&s finisher. That will neutralize any cleaner. They have a whole three part system you can buy
I been wanting to clean my vehicle seats, I bought my car from a nice couple, no hate to them, I want to restore the vehicle in any way I can, so thanks for posting this

Happy to help!
It's a subaru. I can also see part of the console and shifter in the video. i have the same seats.
Yes sr I been doing this since last 9 years. And when I am done some times my clients help me by using their towels till next day.
That has to be a Jeep! I have a Jeep and those seats are a nightmare to clean!!!
What soap are you using here to get it out ?
its the diy mix he shows in the beginning of the video,
What about a headliners?
At last! A video about cleaning fabric car seats, that is not about snow foaming the outside of the dam car!
I wish I had one of those. I spent like 2/3 days scrubbing my seats and flooring. Still have some spots to get rid of it's been a long process but that thing woulda probably got it done in a matter of mins.
What kind of steamer is that? I need it!!!!
This is genius
after u can use a protectant like gtechniq fabric guard so it doesn't happen again
What vaccun do you use?
And that's why you put covers over them when you first get the car
That part
That’s a Kia forte seats. I had a 2013 one. They are the worst seats for getting stains. Even water would leave a stain
Where can I purchase one of those vacuums?
What machine are using to wash the seats?
Tight. thanks.
This is why I try to buy cars with leather or vinyl seats
I have this on hallway carpet. The carpets were professionally cleaned and now look wirseythan before. Ive bought a carpet cleaner myself now. So, should I treat first with this mixture, then clean the carpets?
What’s that machine your using can you send me a link to that
I would like this info too.
I use a vaccum like that is it normal that it stays wet? The seat?
Or simple green put 1 oz simple green and 7 oz water in an 8 oz bottle and proceed
Can I do this on black seats?
love you and how you clean ❤❤❤❤❤
What’s the solution in the vacuum?
Pure water only...
This looks like a Subaru Forrester like 2016ish? Exact same thing happened to mine!
Nice
A proper hot water extractor would take care of that in one go.
Can you please link the vacuum? That's the main part that I need help with!
Do you need full strength rubbing alcohol for the solution to work ?
How do u clean seats and then not have it smell like it’s still wet. I cleaned my seats and it smelled like they were still wet after a few days
What kind of vacuum cleaner is that please?
So how do I get rid of a light mildew smell? Does It’s have dried but then the wet spots came back up and it has a small smell, how can I get rid of asap
Genius
What machine is he using
What machine is that👀
What vacuum did you use?
Thats a upholstery extractor
Any special detergent used?
I need your services!!!!! I can’t seem to remove the smell of cat urine out of my passenger car seat. It’s so bad! I got it “professionally” cleaned but idk what happened.
Cleanslate portable carpet & upholstery cleaner, by Hoover
What kind of mixture?
What’s that machine u used?
It will still wick… it will wick 10 times over even with a towel… keep going
Wondering if this will work on smoke odor as well?
What about peroxide and baking soda
Omg a year late, but thank you! We have this problem
I have the same seats but this ain’t working. How many times did you do it
I had a Subaru with these seats and they were sooo stained, I’d been looking for a video of someone actually getting them clean forever. now that I sold that car a week ago, this video pops up😅😅😅
How much ? 😊
leather seats (nope)
light interior (nope)
Would a dehumidifier work?
What was that shape in the towel 😳🚨🚩
I need the machine
Oh my, can I do this with my sofa seat for pet foot prints? Thank you!!! ❤🙏❤
How do you keep light Gray carpeting from getting that weird orange look after steam cleaning?
Does this work on carpeting too?
For car detailing, we don’t have 24 hrs to wait
Lol 😂 I was tripping never heard that 24 hrs to wait
just until the seat dries
What extractor do you use?
Hoover cleanslate portable
Clean it thoroughly… then purchase some really nice custom made seat covers!! Then you’ll never have to clean the original seats!!
But I can’t keep returning to my customers houses to get my shams back…
What is that vacuum bd where can I get some for cheap??
