      Thank you! Everything is slow. I finished this the day before our shelter in place order. My wife had to close her salon and lay off all of her staff.

    Great looking place to just hang out. That will make their isolation a little more relaxing (note, no TV out there, so no annoying news constantly). Hopefully the wi-fi doesn't reach out there either! Nice work brother. The metal plates are just the right finishing touch.

      Thank you, Rob! I looked for plates at Home Depot and wasn’t impressed with my choices. I cut these with the plasma torch and left the edges rough. I think they came out pretty nice.

      That was a moment I had been dreading. I thought sure I’d have to fight it to get even tension on the chains. When it just dropped into place it was a huge relief!

    Fabulous. All ive been looking for is a good method for heat control in a gazebo firepit. Well done on contractor cleanliness! Im so inspired to the hexagon style yet a sqaure style looks like much easier angle cuts. I look for more in. Few months . Thank you a Lot

    For the swaying, the problem could simply be fixed by putting the chains at a 20 degree angle. this way no matter which way it tried to sway, the chains would get tighter, hand help prevent (counteract) the movement.

    Well, because of you and Outdoors With The Morgans I bought an LT35 Woodmizer today. Get to pick it up tomorrow. Cant wait to do a ton of projects at home with it and hopefully make some side money too. Awesome job on this project! If you ever want those steel plates cut with a CNC Plasma let me know, I own a full fabrication shop up here in Marysville WA. Be really easy to ship them to you.

      Thank you! I was only ever sent pictures of a fire burning which I posted on my instagram account but the client said it worked great. I ended up making another one of these hoods for someone that built their own structure but never heard back from them.

    I know my brother I’ve been a Carpenter all my life and 71 years old I started at nine or 10 years old down houses with my uncle Tearing down houses with my uncle when I was a kid I never wanted toys I wanna tools now I’ve got so many tools crazy how we keep adding and adding but every tool has its purpose God bless your brother for what you do I love your program and I just started watching

    Jason, this video answered my questions that I was scratching my head about. I thought the hood was going to be mounted to the ceiling rafters, not supported off of chains! Definitely will now have a better draft creating burn with alot less smoke. As I commented previously, ...glad your building it !!

    back in the 80s i helped renovate a house that had a set up like that in it, that was the coolest thing i saw till now,,great job well done you should have got a steak to go with the beers,, be blessed and safe

    That is so awesome! Great work on the design of your pergola. I have three nice pergolas myself. One is in front of my house, 11x6 with a beautiful birds of Paradise plant. The other two are 10x10. One with a Concret picnic table for 8 and the other one is for my fire pit for 8-12 chairs. Pergola fire pit not finished yet. Your pergola is way better than mine though.

      Pretty much. I was supposed to break ground on a new job site today but it was cancelled indefinitely a couple hours after the preconstruction meeting last week.
