      @@Itzabhboo yes indeed. He had that raw energy and it was still early in the tour. I don't wanna hear people talk about Dangerous or History Tour, when the man was singing and dancing live the whole time with cleaner, and more energetic movements than in both those tours! Period lol

    • @mecyjecy
      @mecyjecy ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, on the BWT he had the best energy. But on the HWT he had the best technique, the most precise movements. We can see that slowing down the music and not singing live, allowed him to reach his best level. But after the HWT, he never danced the same again. I never understood why, so suddenly, his way of dancing changed so much. From the "MJ and friends" concerts, there is something wrong.

    • @mecyjecy
      @mecyjecy ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@kendrickcampbell7187 The more cleaner moves are in HWT. In HWT, MJ has the best level but with less energy.
      BWT : lot of energy but less technique.
      HWT : lot of technique but less energy.
      DWT : The mix of energy and technique.

    That is actually called the mashed potatoes. MJ mastered the Robot IMO. He took it from James Brown and advanced it. However, nobody had James Browns feet. Some, like MJ, do a good impression, but James' feet & legs were other worldly. MJ looks very impressive doing it. James looked magical.

    • @lllewis2506
      @lllewis2506 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I have to agree. James Brown is originator nobody could move like him.. Michael close top 3 ppl i seen. Michael does the shuffle pretty spot on. Is it really called the mash potatoes when he turn to side doing footwork hand behind his head?

    • @ihatedogsLiveStreams
      @ihatedogsLiveStreams ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@lllewis2506 I think so but don't quote me on it. Usher, Cris Brown & MJ all had problems vibrating their legs and shuffling their feet like James. You know how some people have rare abilities? That's JB. On top of that he was a freestyle dancer. It was an emotional expression where his next moves were not planned. Others were step, move, done. James would keep flowing into other steps chaining different dances and putting emotional twists on them. Incredible stuff.

      Actually, the “mashed potato” dance move very likely came from the Black church. James probably didn’t invent it, and was not the best at it. He had his own way of doing it. I think he more so popularised it. The same with James slide movements, which can be seen in variations from Tap dance prior to his success. I think what happened was James took pre-existing dance moves and twisted them into his own way, and is what we call the James Brown shuffle.
      I would argue Michael’s way of doing it was more detailed, whereas, James was more subtle. This is based on a video of him teaching the move in the 70s. What made Michael’s way of doing it so fascinating is that he emphasised each distinct movement of the dance, even at fast speeds. When James would do it, sometimes the nuances of the dance would get lost. In other words, Michael made it his own, but he also made it stronger. Between the two, I’ve seen Michael duplicate the vibration in his legs, the difference lies in his freer positioning. James tended to dance with his feet more so flat, maybe on the tips a bit, but Michael seemed to like to go on his the tips of his feet more. And he does the moves on the tips of his feet more than James would have. In other words, Michael would exaggerate each of James’ movements to make them more pronounced, in his own way.
      As James way of dancing, I would say that there was not much of a difference between him Michael. They were the same way. Both flowers musically when they danced. Making up whatever they felt, however, Michael was more diverse. So, he tended to incorporate more elements in his dance, from pop locking to tap dance(similar to JB), then he would do stuff from Fred Astaire, etc…but he would take bits and pieces and weave them together. However, the two were also style based, so, they tended to stick to repeating the same moves for years, with Michael occasionally adding a few things over time, more so than James.

      Shake one of your legs leg left to right while keeping it held to the ground with its toe, your other leg does the same thing but just without the need to stay on the ground. For the HIStory Tour he alternates the legs holding down to the ground to make the free leg indistinguishable. Just keep doing it until your legs cause a category 5 earthquake and it'll work.
