Thrawn actually knew Anakin after meeting him on a mission during the Clone Wars. Years later during the days of the Empire, Thrawn and Vader returned to the very same planet on a different mission and Thrawn essentially trolled Vader by hinting numerous times that he knew Vader and Anakin were the same person. If you ever want good reading material, the trilogy containing Thrawn, Thrawn: Alliances, and Thrawn Treason is fantastic
Yay! You can tell the writers incorporated that into the portrayal, cause Thrawn looked spooked for a second when he heard who Ahsoka's master was...lol...then he tried 2 play it off
A connection, not a strong one, the idea is that every person has a different level of sensitivity, some have huge power, some are aberage jedi, some can pull something slightly if they focus really hard, some can feel sparks of energy or sense someone calling, and some are fully disconnected
Seeing Threepio was a very nice surprise. A nice way to bring Leia into the conversation without any CGI Leia work. So many nice point. And Ezra and Thrawn acting like their animated counter parts so well.
Enoch is a name out of the Bible. He was the father of Methuselah the oldest person mentioned in the Bible. Also as a side note, Claudia Black who appeared in Farscape and Stargate SG-1 makes another appearance in Ahsoka as one of the Great Mothers, Klothow. I think the reason there are three of them is they represent the three fates of Greek Mythology. Chlotho was the fate who spun the thread of a person's life. Her Sister Lachesis measured the thread, and Atropos cut the thread ending a person's life. But that is just a theory. 😅
My favorite bit of Thrawn in this episode is when he calls the retreat. It's really subtle, but the way he says "Lord" Baylon... you can hear the disdain in his voice. Also, he calls it "cargo" but when they first arrived there, Morgen told him "I have seen the catacombs." And we're talking about Nightsisters here. Those are dead bodies that they will reanimate later when they get back to the main galaxy, I suspect to help protect Dathomir as the Great Mothers restart the Nightsister clan there.
Shin now faces an important decision. She has separated from her master; what will she do now? If she remains with the stormtroopers, Thrawn may use her as a pawn in his game. Returning to Beylan won't be easy. Beylan knows that Shin doesn't want what he wants and allowed her to leave. Shin probably didn't want to be there in the first place; she showed disdain for Morgan Elsbe and didn't understand what was happening, blindly following her master. Now, there is an option for redemption and joining Ahsoka. Shin is afraid, and it's logical that she won't trust Ahsoka. My theory: Shin will choose Thrawn, but she will have the option of redemption. In Legends, Thrawn was killed by his personal bodyguard. I bet it could be Shin in canon.
@@tammykolu1242yeah i think she goes to baylan and discovers what hes seeking on that planet especially since shes on horseback and hes on foot since ahsoka took the howler
I'm currently rewatching the season of Ahsoka thru your reactions in preparation of the season finale. It's been a blast watching a great show along with someone who I know who gets it. Keep up the great work Emme!
19:02 yeah Shin must be hella torn. From “You won’t help?” to “I can help you” is interesting… This episode ended way too dang happy and that makes me nervous. What the heck is on this planet that has to everyone in a rush?! I must know!
One thing you-ve got to know is that in the more recent novels, Thrawn encoutered Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars. And later he had a mission with Darth Vader who he strongly suspected to be Anakin through the observation of his tactics and skills. He knows who he is dealing with, although he always tried to maneuver with finesse with Vader, he knows how unpredictable and reckless Anakin can be and he assumes that Ahsoka will be just the same. Ashoka jumping from the flying ship would be an Anakin move.
The name Enoch I believe comes from a pre-biblical era religious work called the Book of Enoch that influenced many early Christian and contemporary Jewish religious figures at the time. While it’s not included in the canons of most churches and synagogues, it’s still famous for historical purposes
For those who don’t know Thrawn is one the very very few people who knows Vader is Anakin. Reason why is because during final year of the clone wars, Thrawn worked together with Anakin to help find captured Padme. Thrawn got to witness the chosen one’s skills. Thrawn after joining the empire got to work alongside with Vader and witnessed how strong and Vader operates. Thrawn put in two and two together and figured it out easily.
Eman Esfandi IS Ezra... like I always thought Lars Mikkelson as Thrawn was the best adaption from animated to live action thus far, which made sense given its the same actor.. but Eman Esfandi might be even better as Ezra... He acts, looks, and sounds exactly as I imagine Ezra would once he got older. Amazing casting.
4:55 - Emme - "Any moment with Anakin is a good moment in my book." Me - Tell that to the kids hiding in the Jedi Council chambers during Order 66.......
Senator Hamato Xiono (father of Kazuda "Kaz" Xiono) is incredibly ignorant 🙄😒, perhaps the Hosnian Massacre (the destruction of the entire Hosnian System including his homeworld of Hosnian Prime, because of the First Order's Starkiller Base), that he and the rest of his family thankfully were off world during, finally opened his eyes, maybe Thrawn's return will have a similar but smaller effect 🤔😓.
Hey, Emme! Another good episode but, I fear, much will be left unresolved after the finale unless it's a double-sized episode. XIONO, played by Nelson Lee, is definitely in the role of Bothan BORSK FEY'LYA from the Zahn "Heir to the Empire" trilogy. I don't know how he can claim there's no evidence after multiple Republic witnesses at Seatos and the infiltration of the Corellian shipyard! I also don't know how he can claim personal gain for Hera since she hasn't sought any benefit by her actions. Fey'lya had a personal grudge against humans, the military and Jedi. I don't know what's motivating Xiono other than resentment about not being a rebel himself. ANTHONY DANIELS cameo! Dude's got the sweetest deal with Lucasfilm! LEIA ORGANA saves Hera's bacon! PAUL SUN-HYUNG LEE's Carson Teva mentions the incident on Mandalore which definitely puts this after Season 3 of "The Mandalorian" which messes up the timeline since Favreau said Grogu had been with Luke for years after Season 2 yet Elsbeth was just being transported to prison! Had she been incarcerated elsewhere for years and was now being transferred to another facility when Baylan broke her out? I like the continuity of GENEVIEVE O'REILLY as Mon Mothma across movies and series. Nice HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN cameo. ASAJJ VENTRESS name-drop! First time in live-action! I loved the shell-like mobile homes of the NOTI! SABINE needs to stop playing coy and lay it on Ezra what she's done! EMAN ESFANDI played Ezra very well. I liked him just using the Force to fight. BAYLAN and SHIN have been magnificent. I hated to see them break up the band. I can't wait to find out what's calling to him! RAY STEVENSON is leaving a void in this show that will be hard to fill. I love his regretful look as Ahsoka runs off. The NIGHT TROOPERS didn't burst into green vapor upon their deaths so maybe they're not zombies after all? THRAWN outmaneuvered everybody handily but was GENUINELY SURPRISED by Baylan's absence! It's hard to get one past this guy but he never anticipated an alternate agenda for the fallen Jedi that didn't involve the two factions at play. He also elevated Ahsoka's threat level immediately upon learning who her Master had been! Lol. In the books, he's one of the few people who were privy to Vader's former identity. Good action, good reunion, good comedy from HUYANG. I hope Filoni sticks the landing and provides sufficient answers. The rumors are that the Nightsisters are fleeing ABELOTH aka The Mother of Mortis. I still have my fingers crossed for the YUUZHAN VONG!
Two things to answer your questions, Enoch is a biblical figure that is one of two that were brought to haven without dieing and I believe we might be close to seeing the Mortis mother
Enoch is a name from the Bible, and a very interesting character there, since even though he is only mentioned in the lineage between Adam and Noah in which it is stated that YHVH took him. That sparked a lot of speculation what that means, and is even the foundation for the whole rapture believe that is quite common with evangelicals in the USA.
Just gotta say watching star wars with u has always been great but especially now ur caught up & watching same time❤Ezra saying "the force is my ally"" same line as Yoda in the empire strikes back 🙂
There was also an Enoch in Marvei's Agents of Shield. The name "Enoch" comes from the Bible. Specifically the New Testament aka The Torah. There was one a Book of Enoch, but the Jews removed it due to some problem with it or some inconsistency.
Zeb is not too busy, Zeb is too expensive. Enoch is a character from the Bible. He is the father of Methuselah and is noted for being "called to heaven" before his death.
The name Enoch originally appeared in the Book of Genesis. He is Noah’s great grandfather and was said to have walked with God. The ancient Sumerians give credit to Enoch for bringing them all the systems we know today. Agriculture, governing, etc. My personal theory is that Enoch walked with the hierarchy of angels who govern all space and time. We model a lot of things on earth based on their systems. (As above so below)
Enoch (in Christianity) was Noah's great grandfather and was so righteous he was taken straight to heaven without dying. If you believe in such things.
16:42 Very good point emme. Baylan's speech in the previous fight on Seatos, if i recall, chided Ashoka for only knowing death and destruction like her master. The fact she chose a different path in this rematch, neither to defeat nor be defeated by opponent, beyond zero-sum game, Baylan had a subtle "there's hope for you yet" look on his face.
Love the nostalgic nod to Anthony Daniels and his character. What an honor to be a part of Star Wars for so many years. The reunion between Ahsoka and Ezra... heartwarming... seeing as the last time they saw and spoke to one another was in the World Between Worlds as they ran from Darth Sidious... callback to Rebels Season 4 episode 13 that aired February 26, 2018. A promise fulfilled.
I love this series but I hate what they’ve done with sabines character, the actress who plays her does it wonderfully it’s just the direction they took with her character is so frustrating.
Enoch is the mythical character from the Bible, that never died. He is pre-Diluvian (before the flood). It says: Gen 5:24: And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. It actually doesn't even really sound like that is saying that he never died. However, that is how most people have interpreted it, throughout history. Interesting sidenote: Enoch was the father of Methuselah, the so called oldest man to ever live, at least in the Bible. He supposedly lived 969 years. (sounds more like Grematria to me.) Interesting sidenote #2: Enoch lived to the age of 365. Notice that's the number of days in a year. More numeric significance.
Here's something I noticed.... Minor thing.... Not sure if anyone notice but Ezra's "chainmail" armour looks to be made out of (Stormtrooper?) *_dog tags_* !! Guess we now know why Thrawn said his numbers had dwindled over the years. That's one large body count. 😬😬
Great reaction like always. This episode was so good it gave me so much rebels style seeing them all reunited, and the cameo of C-3PO (Anthony Daniels) was unexpected but so hearth warming, especially with the tone of star wars music in the back. I laughed so hard when chopper want to kick the senator ass. 😂 Keep up the amazing work.
Call me crazy, but after this I can see Shin switching sides. I predict she's going to come in clutch in the finale. Maybe they can give her the redemption arc that we got cheated out of with Assaj Ventress. It's a stretch, but a fan can dream. :)
Awesome episode, the Rebels payoff is so good. Lots of cool stuff going on. Glad Thrawn got to show off his tactical brilliance - the voice is so chilling and having the same actor was so worth it for episodes like this.
6:28 Yeah, innocent space whales… and yet after what happened to Thrawn. I expect no less. I mean think abt it. You really think Thrawn would make the same mistake? Sure, he didn’t know at first but he at least he knows nxt time not to make that happen again. In the Rebels, the space whales appearing unexpectedly for Thrawn in the finale confirms they’ve a deep connection to the force in which the Jedi can use as a great asset. Therefore, Thrawn considers them hostile or an ally to the Jedi & are one of causes for his exile in the first place. Can’t blame him for wanting them dead.
Also consider the fact that twice he has been blindsided by unexpected downfalls due to the will of the force. Quit chasing his wife he has spent the last decade or so learning from the night mother's because he doesn't want to be caught off-guard again. And the fact that he knows about ahsoka's master shows that he is not going to be under estimating any of our group which I think makes him more dangerous because an enemy under estimating you is bad for them but an enemy who knows exactly who you are and your tactics means that they will prepare for every contingency you will throw at them
Xiono is a complete and utter coward. He admitted that he didn't fight in the war, and didn't take a side.... but waited to see which side came out on top. The WORST kind of coward. I give the actor credit, though.... he is legit making me despise his character (which means he's doing a good job). I **REALLY** want Chopper to get 5 minutes in a room with him, guarded by the most bad-ass Jedi there is. I'm not even kidding! Edit: When Xiono says, "And I will not stand for it." Hera should have roasted him with "That's because you won't stand for ANYTHING! You stood for nothing during the war, and that says it all."
Random observation after seeing this a 2nd time now: the troop transport ships they used to deploy troopers to kill Ezra and Sabine look like they are constructed with pieces from TIE fighters... kind of a cool little "blink and you miss it" detail that shows just how much Thrawn's forces have had to make do with what they have for the last decade. Also, random theory for anyone who likes to geek out on theories/predictions (I'm totally OK with being massively wrong on all this too lol): Thrawn and Friends actually succeed in escaping but of course all our friends are stuck on Peridea at the end of the season. Season 2 would then take place in both the new galaxy and old galaxy. The Republic Vs Thrawn, with Hera leading the forces, and then on Peridea we'd have Ahsoka and Friends trying to figure out how to get back while at the same time Shin is torn between following Baylan or taking Ahsoka up on her offer to help her. I do think Shin will eventually "turn" to the light side... or at least she will become a cautious ally, maybe just out of a desire to leave the planet.
Actually, those transports are based on the prototype Imperial shuttle crafts very briefly seen in The Empire Strikes Back (blink and you'd miss it). They were derived from the design of the TIE Bomber. The same ship was also seen during Rebels.
@@Rocket1377 Wow, I'll have to go back and look for them in ESB, I've seen it many times in the past 30 years, can't believe I missed that. As for Rebels, that's good to know. I didn't watch all of it or else I'd have seen them there!
@@prometheuszero9Those gunships were first seen in the clone wars season 5 ”Ahsoka on the run” arc. They were police gunships. Then the Empire started using them as troop transports as seen in Rebels season 1 (episode 13?)
Best episode so far!! C-3PO is so shiny. Thrawn is a scary strategist, he’s playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers. Still trying to figure out what Baylan is up to. Shin got left, she got abandoned, Baylan is going to be the cause of her daddy issues. Morgan Elsbeth looked confused for the entire episode. How are they going to call the Purrgil for the return Uber? That app isn’t in the Apple Store.
I really hope the endgame for Shin is a full redemption arc. She's clearly not okay with how Baylen and Thrawn are using her. Maybe next season we'll get a full enemies to lovers story for her and Sabine 🤞
i was kind of disappointed that the stormtroopers were just normal people, would have been cool for them to be nightsister zombies and they could tank blaster shots and still be able to fight
"Impatience for victory will guarantee defeat" sounds like one of those quotes they'd show before an episode of Clone Wars.
omg YEAH
it probably was

That is SO him.
The last thing Ezra told Ahsoka was to come find him, and she did.
I really like the Ezra actor he seems to embody the animated version really well.
This is the first real sign that Sabine has a connection to the force. That's the only reason Ahsoka was able to connect with her.
A connection, not a strong one, the idea is that every person has a different level of sensitivity, some have huge power, some are aberage jedi, some can pull something slightly if they focus really hard, some can feel sparks of energy or sense someone calling, and some are fully disconnected

it took me a few minutes to remember Leia is still alive at this time 😂
I think this is why Luke and Leia need recasted. I want to see them more and we're only going to get one-off appearances if they're just CGI.

man you cut out some of the best quotes/moments in this series =(
🙏🙏🙏
When that senator said mere droid about c3po i was mere droid!!!!! you take that back !!!! i dont like that senator
All this fight, sabers, blasters, the force. It's amazing to think that Obi-wan or Vader could have ended this all with a single force blow.
@@Rocket1377Where exactly can they be seen in EP5?
Best episode so far!! C-3PO is so shiny. Thrawn is a scary strategist, he’s playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers. Still trying to figure out what Baylan is up to. Shin got left, she got abandoned, Baylan is going to be the cause of her daddy issues. Morgan Elsbeth looked confused for the entire episode.
How are they going to call the Purrgil for the return Uber? That app isn’t in the Apple Store.
Two posts in one day! It's Emme Day!
Another addition of Emme at Nite. I hope they are not going to give us a big cliffhanger after next episode.
And oh Hera and Kanan had a child.
I really hope the endgame for Shin is a full redemption arc. She's clearly not okay with how Baylen and Thrawn are using her. Maybe next season we'll get a full enemies to lovers story for her and Sabine 🤞
emme you should watch
spiderman into the spiderverse,
and then watch
spiderman across the spiderverse
i was kind of disappointed that the stormtroopers were just normal people, would have been cool for them to be nightsister zombies and they could tank blaster shots and still be able to fight
I think it's more impressive this way, Thrawn kept his troops alive all this time
I am so glad that Ahsoka said to Shinn ,,, I can help you
