Pretty sure sabine got an awakening in this episode i think her connection with ezra helped her remove the blocks to the force she has been going through
@thedarkknight2221 yeah her guilt from creating the weapons that was responsible for killing allot of her people is starting to go away now especially with ezra there its funny the chemistry is perfect between those two vs with ashoka... I honestly don't think that this season is going to end with a bow like Mando and other shows I think we'll either be stuck in that galaxy looking for a way out or in a desperate place much like empire strikes back
I don't think so, all they do this episode is make them look like a couple. Not a romantic way but like two sides of a coin, one of them using lightsaber and other one using the force. Together they're like a trained Jedi Knight but alone there is no way defeat a Sith. Fortunately there is no need for that because Ahsoka there to take care of them. Also seems like Shin could be converted to the light side.
Someone else pointed out that Ezra's chain mail is made up of storm trooper dog tags. So he's been doing just fine with his skills. Those are the dwindling numbers Thrawn talked about.
Really loved how they showed a hologram of Anakin Skywalker during the clone wars from Star Wars Rebels and how we got to see C-3po again since Obi-Wan Kenobi Series. Great reaction as always 👍🏽👏🏾👍🏽
Eman Esfandi is a fantastic Ezra! Also, I'm happy that after her heart-to-heart with Anakin, Ahsoka is now much more relaxed, more smiley - even in combat! - and more jokey. She finally got over her glum, one that followed her since Rebels. No, since the final season of Clone Wars! Although that one *was* made after Rebels finished its run.
To be honest, I too really want to see Leia Organa at this moment of time. It doesn't matter for me if she was from CGI generated deepfake or Ingvid Deila reprises her role again (like she did in the end of "Rogue One") or by any means available. Not just for the sake of sweet nostalgia but, more than that, to serve the story better since her name was mentioned, at least, twice in this series.
I loved how he still stopped to delay Ahsoka, definitely still trying to protect Shin. Then when Ahsoka got past him, he seemed so conflicted on whether to chase after or to leave Shin to her fate.

This episode is showing audiences who never saw Rebels why Thrawn is truly one of the greatest and most formidable villains in Star Wars history! This man never sweats, and learns as much from his defeats as his victories. And in the canon book Thrawn: Alliances we learned that he also fought and served alongside Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars AND when he became Darth Vader, he even managed to deduce that they were the same person, even though Thrawn never had any actual evidence, while neither Vader NOR The Emperor could read his mind with the Force! Also all Rebels fans know that if Chopper and that dick Senator Xiono were in that room alone, Chopper would kill him in a way that would make even the creators of Mortal Kombat sick to their stomachs.🤣🤣

Yoda Empire Strikes Back "For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is." I always assumed Yoda was so powerful and connected to the Force he didn't need a lightsaber. Same for the Emperor and the Dark Side. So I was always disappointed that the Prequels relegated them to the same level as other force users. I'm so happy now to see Jedi who can fully wield the Force and it be the only weapon they need.

i'm pretty sure baylan's motives for just standing around for a bit are obvious. Biological or not he's basically her dad. but she's interested in short term power of helping thrawn. she wasn't interested in what he was telling her about his plans. so he did the thing you do when you're child has goals that are different than you, you let them go. so he was waiting around because its hard to leave, so he watched her as she went on the last mission he'd ever watch for fight.
I was very impressed with the chemistry between Sabine and Ezra both in the dialogue and in battle. They're almost two halves of the same whole. Very much live-action Rebels. If I were Thrawn, though, I wouldn't have sent any gunships at all. Why sacrifice even a single non-replaceable trooper when the mission objective was already achieved by eliminating the involvement of the pergill? As long as he can keep Ahsoka and company from infiltrating either the hyperspace ring or the Chimera, he's won. Just take off. In fact, other than for the sake of a cool lightsaber battle, there wasn't any need to endanger either Baylon or Shin. From Thrawn's perspective, they could still be useful assets in the future. Why he doesn't see them as such, though, is a mystery to me. Yeah, he has the night sisters on his payroll, but I would think that you can't ever have enough powerful people on your side.
Ezra hasn't had a light Saber in 9 years. He is Jedi monk now. He still doesn't know Thrawn is around. I'm sure next episode when he finds out his mind set will change

Thrawn doesn't really get to decide "time to go, we'll settle for the cargo we've loaded so far". Transporting the cargo is what the Great Mothers wanted in return for helping him. He clearly needs their continued assistance, so holding up his end of the bargain is important. He doesn't want to risk them turning against him, so this is a constraint he has to operate within. Thrawn isn't one to go back on his word - which is why he chooses his words carefully.
the things they are bringing from the catacombs are his part of the deal that he made with the great mothers. the last thing Thrawn wants is to piss them off enough for them to turn on him.
This set up to the finale was really great thrawn being unfazed is so epic , and i can't be the only one getting really frustrated with Sabine not being truly open with ezra im like girl what's taking so long and also ezra dude don't you want to know haha
I think the little shell people use their shells as their main protection from threats.. They seeme to hold up when the red ppl were trying to attack.. Also Ezra going all light Saber immediately after all these years would feel like a cheat esp with new Ashoka right next to him.. and him force pushing ppl extremely far would make him too OP of a character.. the Show would be over unless he died immediately for some reason.. I think whatever happens next episode will allow us to rate this episode accordingly.. Great review!!! ❤
So here is the thing. The planet of Peridea used to be the empire of cult followers to the first darkside conqueror/ruler of the Zeffo species. Possibly the first darkside emperor ever, just not the first darkside user ever. I believe Lucasfilm is going to make this canon. This was a time before the conception of sith or jedi were put into context. During this arcane and dark ancient age, the Rakata and the Zeffo species had powerful rulings over this galaxy. If this dark ruler was to return, it would make someone like Thrawn or Emperor Palpatine sit at the kids table. Kujet was this Zeffo's name. A dark master sage and a brutal authoritarian tyrant. Now if I'm wrong about the Zeffo dark sage, then the power Baylan feels is of Rakata origin. The first species to use darkside force to conquer more than one galaxy. Rakata darkside energy was known to be potent and untamed. They were the most brutal and power hungry species to ever use the darkside. Or I'm totally wrong and it's a non-malicious entity who will bring enlightenment to Baylan. In other words, we're going in Atlantis or Shangri-La territories. Lucasfilm Ltd did say they were going down a darker route or at least new avenues never explored.

Everyone seems to be soo shocked when he refused the lightsaber lol. The man has been out of practice for 10 years! LOL. I'm actually excited to see a force-monk type character for a change not using a lightsaber.
I've seen a lot of folks wonder about that senator and I suspect he is based from a prominent figure in the EU content, much of which Feloni uses. Borsk Fey'lya was a Bothan and long time adversary of Leia. Over the course of 30 some years of EU content he eventually wormed his way all the way to head of the New Republic and died in the role after his own inability to see real dangers instead of political intrigues brought the New Republic to it's knees in a massive war against an intergalactic threat. That's always been his thing, a lifetime slippery politician who won't or can't believe others aren't as politically motivated as himself. In his head everything is an effort to manipulate to gain power and more than once his own slow climb caused real problems that he always managed to worm out of this way or that. In the end he kept at it till most the more traditional Rebel political figures retired from office or died. His influence poisoned much of the Senate as he surrounded himself with similar self interested politicians and they would pull together to overcome more honest and decent opponents.
Senator Xiono is apparently the father of the lead character in Star Wars: Resistance, I've heard. Also, I thought maybe Ezra was using only as much Force as was needed with the short shoves, because he was doing a lot of them. I always enjoy watching your reaction videos, you two are amazing! 🥰
I thought the episode was fun. I do feel like there isn't going to be enough time left though. It would take multiple episodes to answer all our questions. We'll need multiple episodes for Baylan's arc. I'd expect more episodes to explain Shin too. I'd expect a couple of episodes for Ezra to find out Sabine betrayed his sacrifice, and for him to be mad at her, then get over it. Along those lines, to see if Ahsoka is mad at Sabine. I'd at least want an episode to learn about the planet and the new galaxy, and the nomads.. Also, I want to know alot more about the Nightsisters, and to see them in action. Will they have their energy bows? And then there is also the final showdown. It's hard to imagine that they will be able to wrap this up satisfyingly in one episode.
4:36-4:52 Actually, C-3PO would be with Leia given that she is a senator of the New Republic during this time. R2-D2, on the other hand, would be with Luke since he is trying to rebuild the Jedi Order. I really enjoyed this episode, but it's a shame that we didn't get to see Leia appear via hologram and Ezra wielding his lightsaber again. At least we finally got to hear Asajj Ventress get mentioned in live-action.
Loved this episode and both your reactions, Senator Xiono missed his take this loss as a success moment after 3POs testimony by not telling the court that if what Hera is saying is true and Thrawn does return that it was their reckless actions against Senate orders that let him out. Hope this gets mentioned somewhere down the line as additional material to turn the republic against Leia.
I really enjoyed this episode and it was cool to see Scully from the X-Files haven't seen her on tv in a good while and I'm glad Sabine finally starting to unlock some things thanks to being around Ezra. And Ahsoka back to form and got a short rematch with Baline but we all can see the conflict brewing within him Thanks to Thrawn but all in all another great episode and another great reaction from you two 🔥
Yeah, I think maybe he mellowed a bit, focused on learning to use the Force for fighting. He does take up a blaster after the fight gets too much for force pushing alone. It makes sense considering his brush with the Dark Side during Rebels. I think though his power in the Force is more akin to a Knight then a Master. Power might be the wrong word.. mastery is probably better.
They are so not gonna end this in a big hurry.... Feloni would be DELUGED by Thrawn stans if the last ep is wishy washy. I'm already expecting it wont bode well for Baylan and/or Shin though ... I'm still hoping, but with Ray gone IRL and how the people reacted to him... I dont think they would want to recast him (unless his character has a future already plotted by Feloni...)
They’re definitely collecting dead Dathomiri from the catacombs and the Night Mothers will reanimate a standing army for Thrawn to use against the Republic.
@The Movie Couple, 20:52 Why would Ezra be a badass with a lightsaber if he has had one for the past 10 or so years that he's been in exile? He lives amongst peaceful people, and it looks pretty clear that they haven't had to fight much or at all. Ezra is out of practice! He's still connected to the Force, sure, but he doesn't practice it religiously like he used to because he hasn't had to--Thrawn gave up looking for him remember? At some point, early on I assume, Thrawn lost too many soldiers, and he gave up his pursuit, only striking when the odds were in his favor since they were obviously keeping tabs on his movements--he gave Sabine a device that had his known locations. Ezra did use a blaster, and he did use it pretty well, but pointing and shooting is a lot easier than using a blade for offense and defense, a lot more focus is needed. You have to think about your legs, arms, and your enemies' movements since you have to do so many other things at once. Ezra might build himself a new lightsaber, but I don't think we'll see him with one this season. He's the recluse Jedi of this series, and he's just come out of hiding. Let him find his bearings, he'll be the guy you want to see someday, just not yet. Regarding toilets in Star Wars, didn't we see one briefly in Rogue One too, in Jyn Erso's prison? In any case, I think we should all assume that the Empire did in fact have toilets in their cells and that their cells used space effectively, with beds, food machines, toilets, and sinks sliding in and out of walls. Stormtroopers/officers were going around scrubbing floors, right? The prisons we saw in Andor were the worst! The person imprisoned in front of you got a front-row seat to all your business! Now that I think about it, Jyn Erso's cellmate got to see all of hers too ='(
The annoying senator is Senator Hamato Xiono. That is Kaz's (main character in Star Wars :Resistance) dad. I do recall Kazuda talking about his Dad. I don't recall what he says though. I don't think he was a bad guy, just misguided.
Has frequently talked about how his father was disappointed at him for looking at joining the resistance it wasn't until the destruction of their home world in the force awakens that the elder Xiono started to soften towards his son's decision

I love Thrawn even more in this episode. And we got C3PO. And Anakin. *sigh* 😍 Actually, I saw the splitting up of Baylan and Shin. He is looking for an answer way beyond the Jedi and the Sith. She is obviously turning into a Sith. Which may kill him. But that is just a theory.
What an episode. Still think the relationship between Ahsoka and Huyang is incredible. One of my favorite parts of the show Also big brain move by Thrawn... he was like yo, this is Anakin's padawan. Let her cook because there's no way we can know wtf she'll do because he was unpredictable I also feel like Baylan was sort of proud to see Ahsoka survived and proud that she got the better of him in that duel
I really thought they’d kill off Skoll by the end of this season, but his story looks like it’s just beginning. If they recast, my vote is for Graham McTavish.

It’s a good episode. Love the fight scenes. Nice to see Ezra and Sabine reunite with Ahsoka. Also I saw The Creator. I enjoyed the movie. I love the performances, visual effects, cinematography, direction and score. It’s almost a perfect movie. Parts of the final third act didn’t work for me.

2 things I thought. I wanted Ezra to fling away a trooper far far away. And hear them do a Wilhelm scream. 2nd, Ahsoka seems to win more when she is NOT using a Lightsaber! Without one she was pushing Shin around. When Anakin de-armed her she quickly beat him. And back in Tales of the Jedi she didn't even have a weapon when she beat that Inquisitor!
3rd thought. I would love to see the series end with Shin switching and becoming Ahsoka's padawan. She needs one. And I don't think that Sabine really fits that. Have Sabine in a ending cutscene go to a bar, and Din is there. END.
Filoni would face a DELUGE of hate from all the Thrawn stans if he rushes that last episode... this season is definitely gonna end in a cliffhanger. (And isn't he tied to do a movie related to the Heir of the Empire and/or Thrawn?)
might be a big stretch of a theory, but since Ariana Greenblatt played a young Ahsoka, as she did with Gamora from Infinitywar, i belive that universe they are in is infact the MCU, again, i know its a big stretch here, but what if what Baylan find is Thanos?, i mean, who knows? maybe im right or maybe im not :3
Just like leia her force connection awakened an u would need to be connected to the force to be able to hear across great distances pretty strong bond in the force to actually locate her or in general haters stop it Sabine is destined to be a Jedi how else would she able to hear Ashoka

I am so annoyed with this “it’s complicated” or “I’ll tell you later” thing that Sabine character brought. It’s also the reason I stopped watching not even halfway the new Antman movie. Sabine currently my least favourite character in Ahsoka.

As long as he can keep Ahsoka and company from infiltrating either the hyperspace ring or the Chimera, he's won. Just take off. In fact, other than for the sake of a cool lightsaber battle, there wasn't any need to endanger either Baylon or Shin. From Thrawn's perspective, they could still be useful assets in the future. Why he doesn't see them as such, though, is a mystery to me. Yeah, he has the night sisters on his payroll, but I would think that you can't ever have enough powerful people on your side.
Ezra hasn't had a light Saber in 9 years. He is Jedi monk now. He still doesn't know Thrawn is around. I'm sure next episode when he finds out his mind set will change

Thrawn doesn't really get to decide "time to go, we'll settle for the cargo we've loaded so far". Transporting the cargo is what the Great Mothers wanted in return for helping him. He clearly needs their continued assistance, so holding up his end of the bargain is important. He doesn't want to risk them turning against him, so this is a constraint he has to operate within. Thrawn isn't one to go back on his word - which is why he chooses his words carefully.

the things they are bringing from the catacombs are his part of the deal that he made with the great mothers. the last thing Thrawn wants is to piss them off enough for them to turn on him.
This set up to the finale was really great thrawn being unfazed is so epic , and i can't be the only one getting really frustrated with Sabine not being truly open with ezra im like girl what's taking so long and also ezra dude don't you want to know haha
I think the little shell people use their shells as their main protection from threats.. They seeme to hold up when the red ppl were trying to attack.. Also Ezra going all light Saber immediately after all these years would feel like a cheat esp with new Ashoka right next to him.. and him force pushing ppl extremely far would make him too OP of a character.. the Show would be over unless he died immediately for some reason.. I think whatever happens next episode will allow us to rate this episode accordingly.. Great review!!! ❤
Futuristic toilets are hidden or disguissed so the room looks cleanner and spacious.
So here is the thing. The planet of Peridea used to be the empire of cult followers to the first darkside conqueror/ruler of the Zeffo species. Possibly the first darkside emperor ever, just not the first darkside user ever. I believe Lucasfilm is going to make this canon. This was a time before the conception of sith or jedi were put into context. During this arcane and dark ancient age, the Rakata and the Zeffo species had powerful rulings over this galaxy. If this dark ruler was to return, it would make someone like Thrawn or Emperor Palpatine sit at the kids table. Kujet was this Zeffo's name. A dark master sage and a brutal authoritarian tyrant.
Now if I'm wrong about the Zeffo dark sage, then the power Baylan feels is of Rakata origin. The first species to use darkside force to conquer more than one galaxy. Rakata darkside energy was known to be potent and untamed. They were the most brutal and power hungry species to ever use the darkside. Or I'm totally wrong and it's a non-malicious entity who will bring enlightenment to Baylan.
In other words, we're going in Atlantis or Shangri-La territories. Lucasfilm Ltd did say they were going down a darker route or at least new avenues never explored.

Everyone seems to be soo shocked when he refused the lightsaber lol. The man has been out of practice for 10 years! LOL. I'm actually excited to see a force-monk type character for a change not using a lightsaber.
I've seen a lot of folks wonder about that senator and I suspect he is based from a prominent figure in the EU content, much of which Feloni uses. Borsk Fey'lya was a Bothan and long time adversary of Leia. Over the course of 30 some years of EU content he eventually wormed his way all the way to head of the New Republic and died in the role after his own inability to see real dangers instead of political intrigues brought the New Republic to it's knees in a massive war against an intergalactic threat. That's always been his thing, a lifetime slippery politician who won't or can't believe others aren't as politically motivated as himself. In his head everything is an effort to manipulate to gain power and more than once his own slow climb caused real problems that he always managed to worm out of this way or that. In the end he kept at it till most the more traditional Rebel political figures retired from office or died. His influence poisoned much of the Senate as he surrounded himself with similar self interested politicians and they would pull together to overcome more honest and decent opponents.

Senator Xiono is apparently the father of the lead character in Star Wars: Resistance, I've heard. Also, I thought maybe Ezra was using only as much Force as was needed with the short shoves, because he was doing a lot of them. I always enjoy watching your reaction videos, you two are amazing! 🥰
As a Jedi, he was taught to exercise restraint. He may have also needed to conserve energy
I thought the episode was fun. I do feel like there isn't going to be enough time left though. It would take multiple episodes to answer all our questions. We'll need multiple episodes for Baylan's arc. I'd expect more episodes to explain Shin too. I'd expect a couple of episodes for Ezra to find out Sabine betrayed his sacrifice, and for him to be mad at her, then get over it. Along those lines, to see if Ahsoka is mad at Sabine. I'd at least want an episode to learn about the planet and the new galaxy, and the nomads.. Also, I want to know alot more about the Nightsisters, and to see them in action. Will they have their energy bows? And then there is also the final showdown. It's hard to imagine that they will be able to wrap this up satisfyingly in one episode.

I really enjoyed this episode, but it's a shame that we didn't get to see Leia appear via hologram and Ezra wielding his lightsaber again. At least we finally got to hear Asajj Ventress get mentioned in live-action.
Loved this episode and both your reactions, Senator Xiono missed his take this loss as a success moment after 3POs testimony by not telling the court that if what Hera is saying is true and Thrawn does return that it was their reckless actions against Senate orders that let him out. Hope this gets mentioned somewhere down the line as additional material to turn the republic against Leia.

I really enjoyed this episode and it was cool to see Scully from the X-Files haven't seen her on tv in a good while and I'm glad Sabine finally starting to unlock some things thanks to being around Ezra. And Ahsoka back to form and got a short rematch with Baline but we all can see the conflict brewing within him Thanks to Thrawn but all in all another great episode and another great reaction from you two 🔥
Yeah, I think maybe he mellowed a bit, focused on learning to use the Force for fighting. He does take up a blaster after the fight gets too much for force pushing alone. It makes sense considering his brush with the Dark Side during Rebels. I think though his power in the Force is more akin to a Knight then a Master. Power might be the wrong word.. mastery is probably better.
They are so not gonna end this in a big hurry.... Feloni would be DELUGED by Thrawn stans if the last ep is wishy washy.
I'm already expecting it wont bode well for Baylan and/or Shin though ... I'm still hoping, but with Ray gone IRL and how the people reacted to him... I dont think they would want to recast him (unless his character has a future already plotted by Feloni...)
They’re definitely collecting dead Dathomiri from the catacombs and the Night Mothers will reanimate a standing army for Thrawn to use against the Republic.

20:52 Why would Ezra be a badass with a lightsaber if he has had one for the past 10 or so years that he's been in exile? He lives amongst peaceful people, and it looks pretty clear that they haven't had to fight much or at all.
Ezra is out of practice! He's still connected to the Force, sure, but he doesn't practice it religiously like he used to because he hasn't had to--Thrawn gave up looking for him remember? At some point, early on I assume, Thrawn lost too many soldiers, and he gave up his pursuit, only striking when the odds were in his favor since they were obviously keeping tabs on his movements--he gave Sabine a device that had his known locations.
Ezra did use a blaster, and he did use it pretty well, but pointing and shooting is a lot easier than using a blade for offense and defense, a lot more focus is needed. You have to think about your legs, arms, and your enemies' movements since you have to do so many other things at once. Ezra might build himself a new lightsaber, but I don't think we'll see him with one this season. He's the recluse Jedi of this series, and he's just come out of hiding. Let him find his bearings, he'll be the guy you want to see someday, just not yet.
Regarding toilets in Star Wars, didn't we see one briefly in Rogue One too, in Jyn Erso's prison? In any case, I think we should all assume that the Empire did in fact have toilets in their cells and that their cells used space effectively, with beds, food machines, toilets, and sinks sliding in and out of walls. Stormtroopers/officers were going around scrubbing floors, right? The prisons we saw in Andor were the worst! The person imprisoned in front of you got a front-row seat to all your business! Now that I think about it, Jyn Erso's cellmate got to see all of hers too ='(
The annoying senator is Senator Hamato Xiono. That is Kaz's (main character in Star Wars :Resistance) dad. I do recall Kazuda talking about his Dad. I don't recall what he says though. I don't think he was a bad guy, just misguided.
Has frequently talked about how his father was disappointed at him for looking at joining the resistance it wasn't until the destruction of their home world in the force awakens that the elder Xiono started to soften towards his son's decision

It’s a good episode. Love the fight scenes. Nice to see Ezra and Sabine reunite with Ahsoka. Also I saw The Creator. I enjoyed the movie. I love the performances, visual effects, cinematography, direction and score. It’s almost a perfect movie. Parts of the final third act didn’t work for me.

2 things I thought. I wanted Ezra to fling away a trooper far far away. And hear them do a Wilhelm scream. 2nd, Ahsoka seems to win more when she is NOT using a Lightsaber! Without one she was pushing Shin around. When Anakin de-armed her she quickly beat him. And back in Tales of the Jedi she didn't even have a weapon when she beat that Inquisitor!
3rd thought. I would love to see the series end with Shin switching and becoming Ahsoka's padawan. She needs one. And I don't think that Sabine really fits that. Have Sabine in a ending cutscene go to a bar, and Din is there. END.

I am so annoyed with this “it’s complicated” or “I’ll tell you later” thing that Sabine character brought. It’s also the reason I stopped watching not even halfway the new Antman movie. Sabine currently my least favourite character in Ahsoka.
