- This video talks about the Stabila LAX 600G and why you NEED a line laser if you are a builder. To be honest you need a line laser if you do any form of construction. The LAX 600G is the type of tool that once you own, you find an infinite number of ways for it to make your job not only easier, but a better quality as well.

YES, please compare the different drills. Maybe even talk about different bits that you have found useful (long life/ resist breaking)
Black dewalt t25 bit is the best t25 there is
I told my old boss we needed a laser line for over a year but he hated spending money on tools unless something was broken or stolen. I do finish carpentry so it’s extremely important for laying out boxes, paneling, built ins, etc. It’s wild how much easier layout became once I got one when I went out on my own. It’s a DeWalt but I’ve had great results with it (as well as the DeWalt laser measure). It’s a pricey tool but well worth it in my opinion.
And who doesn’t love some tool reviews/comparisons? I run Makita for all my cordless except nail guns, and the 1” rotary hammer works fantastic for me when I’m wrapping stone or brick fireplaces or fastening posts to concrete. I have found myself using the hammer drill I recently purchased more often though as it just eats through most of the material I run across and the bits are cheaper or come with a box of tapcons. The “big boy” is always there if I need it though.
I am fully impressed! It's just a complete th-cam.com/users/postUgkxGqOCINHE0Z0E5gxzSdNi9NWGugRY5Hm2 plan with the best resources and step by step instructions . These shed plans are so satisfying as if the sheds build themselves on their own. Worthy work Ryan!
Kyle! Your an inspiration to the rest of us ocd builders making everyone else look like sloppy chumps! Thanks for putting up such BA content brother!
I bought the inexpensive non-Stabila version of that laser for my DIY home renovation work and it's been invaluable. I turned on the two vertical lasers and the upper and lower crosses as a plumb bob, and then also to set a perfect 90° between two walls. Plumbing up studs is planned for next weekend.
Coming from someone who does not own an SDS drill but will eventually, I would love to see a video from you about your experiences with the ones you have used/own. Last night I was looking through your channel to see if there were any videos I haven't watched yet and there was maybe 2-3 but that's it. I think a big reason for that is you don't just teach people tips and tricks as you are building things. You also share your opinion about things and it's always an unbiased opinion. It doesn't matter if you are talking about how good a tool is or the way you like to trim out windows.. you explain WHY you like the tool and why it's a good fit for the specific task at hand. You explain WHY you like to trim a window that way and why you might do it a different way in a different scenario. I guess what I'm trying to say is I can relate to you in how you approach things. You understand there are multiple tools for the same job and multiple ways to do a specific task.. and you analyze why one way might be better than the other and make a calculated decision based on your findings. You try different things (tools, methods, etc) and pay attention to the details.
Hammer drills have been a bone of contention for me many times over the years, so, yes, any reviews covering ways to improve concrete connections is more than welcome to this ol' vet!
YES! YES! YES! Please do drill comparison. AND............reference any drill you don't have, butt.........still recommend.
I am in the middle of a remodel and I have this exact laser it’s like having another person for precision and repeated ability cannot be beat I am very happy with my purchase I think it is a must have. STABILA makes A difference.
Hey Kyle, haters are going to hate. There is definitely a time and a place for snapping a line and a time and place for lasers. The haters are just afraid of them or really don’t know how to utilize them. Great work. Learn something new every video
Yesssss! Please do a toolsday on sds rotary hammers.
Maybe one on rotary lasers too. More than just stabila
10-4
I bought a cheeper laser measuring device years ago to install a floating shelf using Kreg tool a long screw into the studs in the wall. Very impressive how accurate it was and it said within a 1/8”. Shelf is still up and love it.
Tool days are a great part of your channel.
I have used Stabila levels for years they are awesome. iI do not have a laser level but would love one. Great video as normal cheers Kyle
Thank you Mr! I bought my first line level after watching some of your earlier videos that has helped tremendously!
Yes, Kyle! Please do a sds tool comparison!
Kyle: "What tools would you be interested in learning more about?"
Us: "Yes."
A midweek video release. Who knew but I'm glad I checked in right before turning in for the night.
This is great stuff, I'm setting up to DIY an addition. Compared to the videos that helped me finish my basement, yours are way more help.
I like that drill but also the right kind of screw to use on brick, block, concrete and etc! Like using what to help support a porch on blocks or etc! Not a builder just a DYI! But watch you all the time!
Perfect timing on this video. Just ordered my LAX 600G and BST-K tripod, exact same kit you have, from Acme tool with their 10% off promo. I’m just a prosumer working on my own stuff, so I won’t be putting it through all the job site trials. Hope to get many years of use from my new toy!
I like your content and have been watching you for a number of years.
I get that you have now arrived at influencer/ brand promotion status, and with that it seems that your content is becoming more product placement than builder chanel.
Improper use of time not getting Greg to help with layout before taking off, leaving you "alone". I suppose the cameraman couldn't help with layout. But hey, he didn't miss a shot, so he's good at his job.
Nothing but positive feedback here.
Keep it real Kyle.
I have el’cheapo version laser , first time use was to remodel my rental houses , putting down hardwood floors , it was great 👍🏻 beating the heck out of a chalk line that gets rubbed off .
Kyle, great work as always. Yes please, make a video all about SDS drills. I would like to hear what you think.
Yes to the SDS content Kyle! Thank you!
Especially doing concrete form work. The straight, squared and plumbed foundation makes the building.
Yes on the SDS video…for sure it would help us all
Wow, having a cameraman (woman) is a game changer in what you can visually setup and offer.
That was the big goal of mine
I'd love to see a video of the big SDS drills that pre-drill for Titen holddowns and such
Funnily enough, I just bought this laser 3 hours before this video came out, and I love it. I’ve had a cheaper laser for a while, but it is so dim and chews through AA batteries like crazy, so this Stabila has been a huge improvement.
Now I would love some SDS reviews/comparisons, because that is the next “bigger” tool purchase I will be making, and maybe I’ll be able to wait until your video is out before I go buy one this time. 😜 thanks for the great content!
How do you like it so far? Can you lock the pendulums & use the laser lines out level if you needed too?
@@Quietvibes07 it’s been pretty good, only issue I’ve run into is it seems to overheat on warm days. A couple days last year were 95+ and when I got it out of the truck it wouldn’t power on until I left it in the air conditioning for a few hours.
I believe you can lock the pendulums and still power the lasers up, but the beams will flash as if it’s out of level. Not totally sure though as I haven’t had to use it like that yet.
Would love to see a video on the different SDS drills and uses. I’m running into more reno work demoing tile off concrete slabs / installing new framing on slab and would love to have one “best” tool for both
well son you got your chippers and your twisty drills
Say, might be a stupid question but what are you using if not SDS? As for SDS drills: a) the drills themself are incredibly important. A good new drill on the cheapest sds machine will work better than a finished drill on the best machine. b) as much as I hate it: go by your battery ecosystem. c)everyone has his/her own opinion but imho: if you use the hammermode a lot: pick the heaviest tool you are comfortable (non really are but you know what I mean ;) ) holding. d) at home I have a 150€ makita at work a 700€ hilti and in most application I don't really feel a massive difference. The hilti is better in any regard but.. you've gotta drill a lot of holes to earn the difference. Last but not least: If you#ve got the money ATC (actie torque control) can save your hands/arms. It is worth it.
Very informative. I've started using lasers at home and at work but nothing as good as yours. It definitely frees up your hands. As far as your hammer drill we have 4 of the Milwaukee cordless versions. One for each of our vans.. The vacuum isn't perfect but it gets 90% of the dust but more importantly it keeps the dust out of the air. Again thanks for sharing.
An SDS comparison video would be very helpful
Cordless SDS video would be cool. I haven't switched to cordless SDS yet, im still rocking the Bosch corded.
good video Kyle. Lasers have improved a lot 👍
Yes, I would like a video on SDS and your thoughts about them. Interested in Brands and features.
I use the Bosch variant GLL 2-80 CG together with a motorized turning attachment. Makes a huge difference when adjusting the lines along specified markers. Very tedious to do the adjustment manually!
Those vacuum attachments are dope tbh. I have the milwaukee gen 2 vacuum attachment on mine. I demo and install rubber mats at the entrances of Walmarts and we have to drill holes for the metal transition that butts up against the rubber mats. It's nice not having to carry a broom and dust pan or a large vacuum around, definitely worth the $180 for the attachment.
yes SDS rotohammers video there so many choices and i have multiple myself would love to see the range of sizes you guys use most often and what features and functions you guys enjoy most!
Good job Kyle, you inspire me build different projects. Saw a loft segment you did and did one in my building.
I love using lasers, especially when working by myself. It would be awesome to see a review on the hammer drills. It took me a few moments to figure out what was still running on yours when you were drilling and then I realized, that's a freaking vacuum.... How cool is thatl! I'd be curious how well it works on larger wedge anchor holes since they are always a pain to blow out/clean before installing.
The vacuum was the coolest part to me. I work mostly on interiors so I cordon off the room/area whenever I’m drilling into stone anyway, but if it removes me from having to keep a compressor around or buying compressed air cans, it might be worth putting on the “future buy” list.
Doesnt pull dust out of the hole really, just catches everything that is pushed out by the drill bit.
Hey Kyle, Keep up the great work man. Love how you run your job site and business; clean, precise, efficient, love it.
Thanks for showing us the new laser. Rechargable battery is a must. So sick of buying batteries.
Yes! A video on that SDS tool
A video of the different drills, vacuums, and bits would be great.
Yes Kyle,,, please do a tools day about rotary hammer drills
Yes on the hammer drill! This was very helpful, as I am getting ready to put up a pre-fab kit, and I am planning on renting a laser.
Heck yeah I'd really appreciate some SDS and other hammerdrill comparisons and reviews. I hope that I see when you post it.
Kyle, a video on the different rotary drills would be cool. I would also like to see a video on the best bits and drill bits that you use. A good tool is only as good as its bit, blade,or drill bit.
YES to the SDS. I'm in the market and would love your take.
Yes to different rotary hammers/sds. Its a kinda of murky space with some being capable of drilling, others better for something like tile removal.
Yes I want to see that SDS comparison. Bosch
Another great video. I learn a lot about doing construction the right way by watching your videos. Any chance you could do a series of videos on building a basic garage that could be used as a workshop? If that's too simple of a project I get it. That said, I think it would be helpful to a lot of folks who are interested in building their own garage the right way. Thanks for all you do.
Yes please on SDS reviews
أداة مفيدة فعلاً ، أشكرك على هذا الشرح المفصل والمفيد .
Yes please do sds tool review... In Europe they are used a lot.
another good accessories is one like a drywall prop with a mount on it for the laser,
I’ll stick with the Milwaukee 3-plane laser. Battery familiarity, great warranty, roughly same price. I love Stabila levels, but Milwaukee may be a better choice for this.
I just found a new early x-mas present!! Thanks Kyle!!
Yes to the SDS review for toolsday please. What model Stabila LDM are you using?
I've been using a Dewalt SDS+ 20v rotary hammerdrill for over 7yrs. It's drilled a lot of 2-9/16" cores through 8" and up to 12" concrete walls. 5amp/hr battery's. Usually only have 1 per jobsite so it handles it. Anytime I have needed a new core bit the tool store guys tell me that it's not capable of doing it and try to talk me into a SDS Max drill. Not that it wouldn't be better, I like this one because of its size and gets the job done.
always love tool tips and great tool reviews
Yes to the rotary Hammer/SDS Tool Day.. Please.
These are very informational. Thanks for doing these.
MORE TOOLS DAY! ANY TOOLS! MORE TOOOOOOOOLS!
I’ve been looking for a video like this! Thanks!
Yes! to the SDS comparison!
Yes very interested in the sds
I'd really appreciate a video on SDSs.
Would love to see that SDS comparison!
Yes we love the big boy hammer drills💪
Lasers are bomb!!
Yes, please the hammer drills comparison!
Get a CAS battery adapter to your favorite tool brand
Hi there, great vid. Which would you prefer for out door use the green or red leaser. Would you be able to do a vid showing the receiver working with the leaser . Thank you .
Do another lifting comparison to see if Greg has gotten any stronger!
I have all Makita kit, but I'd be interested to hear is the Dewalt and Milwaukee stuff is any better. Drill video sounds like a plan
wanted to get your thoughts on the pencil that you use, i believe it's a pica?
Does it have a lock function for steps or off angles? And can you do a review on the Stabila laser measure?
Always enjoy the tools
YES Do the SDS video.
Yes please to the video on the different sds’s
Would love an sds comparo.. My Milwaukee 5262-21 does everything my DIY needs, but knowing other features/power would be great knowledge for a future project
Kyle, just ordered one, do you have any videos showing electricians using it to install electrical boxes, recess lights , etc....
Would like to see a the DEWALT 20V MAX Rotary Hammer, SDS Plus, L-Shape
I think a good tool, SDS video would be great.
Want to know even a better secret.... take that laser out to doing your foundation layout. Pulling all the tape measures is for the fishes. Drop a pin, put two tape measures and follow the lasers. Perfectly square.
Awesome work man! Looking to buy my first laser, is there a reason to use this laser over the lax300g? Vice versa?
Kyle, would you be interested in creating content topic focused on suppliers & supplier contractor relationship.
I think it’s a topic over looked & possibly under appreciated in our industry.
12-18 min of content discussing How to choose a supplier Why a relationship with a supplier maybe important. Also ask the tough questions:
are you getting what you want in your current supplier situation. Lastly being a contractor first and foremost we are in the people business secondly we are craftsman.
As a contractor/business owner what is your relationship with your supplier rep, Does he or she bring anything to the table.
What is their value do they answer the phone or are they only present once or twice a year.
Ect
Yes please on the sds
Thumbs up Kyle!! 👍😁
Very nice! Dang it time for an upgrade!
Honest question, why Stabila over say Milwaukee or DeWalt 360's?
Hopefully Milwaukee sends you a new M12 Laser and receiver. I have Milwaukee platform so it would be great if it’s good. Great video thanks Kyle 👍
@xrrbuildings3403 I don’t have Telegram what is it ?
I always want to see a blower door test
SDS toolsday for sure
Please do a SDS video!! FL is heavy with masonry!!
Have you tried the Milwaukee laser? Any comparison?
Thanks Kyle!
Not sure if you have yet but a video on the nailers would be nice. Your thoughts on the all electric vs paslode gas system.
