Exactly what i felt when i first got him. people kept comparing him to venti claiming that he`s non-efficient but he is and currently still the only character that can basically make your team literally immortal.
When he first came out, I wanted to roll for him for the sole purpose that I love his character and don't care about the meta at all. My bf got him, but I didn't. ;w; Now I just have enough primos for his rerun and a guarantee.
As of January 2023, it’s been filled in- his constellation is listed as lapis dei. Kinda weird tho bc his story quest was called historia antiqua and those are usually named after the character’s constellation

F*ck, on coop they only let me use Zhongli because they saw I had Albedo, and knew I was serious about my boy lol. Now just imagining the Azhdaha fight with that old shield makes me want to cry.

those people who said Zhongli sucks either never encountered an enemy stronger than them to the point where they almost die or they just kept 1 shooting enemies where they don`t even engage enemies in actual "fights". honestly even before his buff Zhongli`s barrier alone was all I need and appreciate because its obviously stronger and faster to reapply and it kept me alive to most of my fights.
For me he's like Barbruh, but shield instead of heal, and he can actually deal some ok damage (compared to Hu Tao, lol). Also, and most important - *style*.
