Yep. The Fontaine spear is currently only useable on Mika and Yao Yao (they have better options so you'd only want to use this spear if they aren't available). Zhongli's best non 5 star options are usually Back Tassel or Fav if your team needs the ER.
Zhongli's E acts from where he stands, not from where he puts his pillar. So if you want to have chance to break all three Geo Cube pillars, you need to stand as close as possible to the middle.
You should really use black tassel since it gives more hp and the fontaine spears passive is kinda useless since the user needs to be healed to get the energy and zhongli getting healed is almost a never in most teams especially yours.
On zhongli, you typically want black tassel on him, as it gives more hp and the passive is pretty useless on him- BUT, you can use that rightful reward on yaoyao, which actually works pretty well.
If you get Hu Tao the next time she has a rerun, I feel like you should try and use her alongside Zhongli, Xiangling and Rosaria/Yun Jin. I feel like they'd work quite well. P.S. You should try buying Cor Lapis from the NPCs that sell it in Liyue Harbor and Port Ormos.

Black tassel is really good on zhongli but favdge is SO good. Sure, you gotta build a bit of crit but his shield is so strong you don’t even notice it. As a support, your team will really appreciate the particles he can generate. I ran a fav-tenacity zhongli and it was laughably easy. Highly recommend!

If you need a polearm weapon, why not use the 3 star polearm? Ther are some good 3 star weapon like white tassel that gift a crit rate stat, it was the f2p opsion for hu tao and cyno. And black tessel that better weapon for zhongli because it gift more hp stat (around 46,5%) than the new 4 star weapon (around 22,5%)

There's a NPC in Liyue that sells Cor Lapis, and her name is "Changshun" she's close to the Wangshu Funeral Parlor.
