Fun fact: That is indeed the shape of my chest and definitely not a lav mic… Thanks for roasting my ride, you were too kind! Hit me up when you’re in LA, let’s ride 🫡
At 10:10 -- "my tires started delaminating in Turkey [unsaid part, with 12,000 kilometers already on them so three times past the sell by date not counting the gravel use and the cargo], so I put some more sealant in and that solved the issue." I just lost it there. Hilarious. And definitely authentically Geordie.
This should be the next 12 months at Cade Media; positioning yourselves as the fulcrum of YT Cyclists Social Media and doing colabs with Vegan, Norcal, Mitch, Safa, and the lesser knowns like Ben Chappers, Keep Smiling Adventures, Bike Racing Without Mercy etc. Would be awesome. Ooo, and Jasper and EJ too.
The Scott Foil is actually pretty easy to roast-this kind of bikes-the aero ones look absolutely hideous with rims lower than 50mm. That frame just begs for proper 60+ wheels
You could do an F1 themed episode: Valteri Bottas' and Tiff Cromwell's bikes from unbound, Carlos Sainz' bike he rode with Tadej at Monaco, Fernando Alonso's bike he got run over on a couple of years ago, George Russell's Noddy-themed step through with the carbon trainer wheels, Yuki Tsunoda's XXXS Fuji mountain bike... (I dunno, I made the last one up).
Regarding bottle cage extenders, you can also get bottle cage mount adapters which instead of a single bottle mount exactly on top of the tube will provide two bottle mounts, each slightly angled outwards to either side. I figure those would not only give you an extra bottle cage but also make the bottles more accessible if you're using a frame half-bag.
1:24 slandering Specialized tyres is hilarious, up until recently the Pathfinder Pro was the most common tyre at unbound and has been used to win the race several times, it's known for having an ideal compromise between rolling resistance and puncture protection and is very much considered a great tyre and a known quantity along with Conti Terra Speed's when it comes to gravel racing.
That @MarySpender Giant Defy is the one I would want to ride most. That is a beautiful bike. Honourable mention to the @Josh-Reid Giant Revolt for an epic history.
Specialized tyres are actually very good, especially the pathfinders which Kiera had on her bike. Some other speccy tyres of note: ground control, turbo cotton's, nimbus and sawtooth.
I ride my non-electric omnium cargo around hilly scotland and manage fine - what I lack in electric boost I make up for in a 22t front 36t back granny gear. Ive maxed out the tyre size to 2.1 front and 2.25 rear and its surprisingly capable off road!
No mention of the insane seatpost extension of Camerons (dads) bike??!! It looks ridiculous, could've easily roasted him on that one 😂 EDIT: After further watching, you have to actually roast the bikes and not review them! Missed opportunity on Joshs Giant with the dork disc still on :D Or at least provide a quick roast and then review.
OK, so... Rhett Shull (who I did not know cycled) in Ep 1, Mary Spender (who I did) in Ep2 ... my challenge to you - Dan Steinhardt and Mick Taylor of That Pedal Show, please!
Fun seeing the Pro bike roasts. Here's an idea. How about some roasts from people that cannot afford £10,000 custom bikes and have to make do. Maybe a Franken-bike episode. 😊 Keep up the great videos Cheers 🌞🚴♀️🖖
The problem with weight in the front is the rating on the bolts not the stability. There is already 50-90kg on the bike without luggage so as long as the rake on the fork is long enough there will be more stability if the weight is distributed 60/40 in favour of the front, since it is already distributed 60/40 in favour of the back. I toured with front panniers, with rear panniers and with front + saddlebag and the latter was the most stable. Also: day 2 of calling cervelos ugly bikes.
Fun video boys. Well done. I'm roasting you both for something off-topic and pointless... Get your facial hair neck and cheek lines sorted. Or, is that shabby style cool in the UK? 😂
the cervelo and scott foil has a formed seat tube around the rear wheel, the cervelo has the down tube formed around the front wheel but the foil doesnt. presumably closing that gap is faster, looks wise its not as neat, changing that down tube on the foil similar to the cervelo would make it look so much better.
Reserve Wheels are not cervelos brand. They are Independent within PON. They originally came from santa cruz engineers (mtb wheelssets) but are separated now
Kira’s Bike: Obvious conversion to one-by. Gear selection in hill climb mode. Wheels and tires sort of aligned, but not really. Bonus points! Possible straight vodka or gin fizz in the mounted water bottle for after the race. Best part is that it’s obviously being used… bikes are better at being conveyances than shrines. Cam’s Bike: It does the job, plus it’s his dad’s and he’s good with it. Splashes of authenticity (mud). Mismatched bottles… who cares? Josh’s Bike: Getting big points on tenacity on the ride. Double points for the irony of rider name and bike name. Triple points if he reveals a jailhouse tat from his Chinese prison experience. Mary’s bike. Extra points for crank arms not level, which only appeals to OCD ppl. The rest of the bike… doesn’t do it for me. Probably packs a can of compressed air to blow down the bike 200m before the coffee shop (which is 800m from home). Sorry, Mary. Chris’ Bike. Like Mary’s but it looks more comfortable on the wall. Probably oiled (not greased) bearings to emphasize the clicking and whirring sounds. Not sorry, Chris. Honor’s Bike. Brilliant. Rides instead of gushing over the tech. Dog bits not staged… they know what to do. Deore group set that gets ridden until it wears out. Not a high end group set that doesn’t get worn out because it can’t hanging on the wall. Tony’s Bike: Enhanced by the threat of violence directed to our hosts, and our hosts taking it well instead of dialling triple zero. Non matching bottles (one is a tool kit). Notice the through front axle? It looks like it’s been taken off a few times, so the tool kit isn’t for show. Gotta ditch that light though… looks like it’s from The Sharper Image catalog. Need something slightly beefy to throw the lumens. One that is used as an under barrel accessory for a USP .45 would fit the image. Mitch’s Bike. Tan sidewalls (with lettering facing up), matching bottles, chromed logo, discrete stripes (like racing BMWs of old). Cliche combo imho. Threw out the steel frame maker’s name for street cred but it’s carbon. Aargh. Minus 10 million points just for that. Did I spot an oversized idler wheel? If so, have Tony to pop by his place for “a quiet word”. Tell him to bring the “thing” to which his new bike light attaches. See if a bullet hitting CF makes a thud or if it rings like steel. Kira, Cam, and Honor on the top tier. Josh and Tony in second spot. Chris and Mary at the bottom. Mitch’s bike is out of contention because nobody rides a carbon bike with bullet holes. Except for Josh. It’s just how he rolls, man.
All of which rolls up into what’s cool and what is not. Riding what you want, how you want. Not pimping a ride so somebody else will think it’s nice. Who cares? Getting nicked by some bent coppers and shrugging it off instead of building your podcast around it? Now that’s kinda cool. The entertainment world gets it right when it draws on the right themes… Max Rocketansky (aka Mad Max). Did the job with a fully kitted police car before switching to The Last of the V8 Interceptors. Drove the wheels off of them and used mods to full effect. James Bond (in Goldfinger) who shrugged off bullet holes with this DB6 (with modifications) before stuffing it into a wall. Frank Bullitt, who wore a sweater coat before Starsky & Hutch ruined it. Mixed brown and blue like a champ. Piloted a Fastback Mustang and accepted that he might suffer some shotgun pellet and gravel damage before he peeled the rubber off those “meats”. Any of the featured riders are pretty damned worthy in their own right. Yet, only half of them seem to go their own way. The others follow what Canyon, Campag, Specialized tell them is cool. One day somebody in “Big Bike” Will get this and retool their storefronts around frames and a la carte wheels, tires, forks, seats and tubes, handle bars etc. Employing staff who think outside the box and colour outside the lines. Not because they’re artsy but because their first question is “what are you going to do with your bike” as a point of departure for what will be a unique bike built up from factory components. It’s not like the expensive bike you buy off the shelf isn’t supposed to be given a thorough going over before you ride off on it… There are people out there already like this but the idea hasn’t really percolated up to the Big Leagues. Even though all of the big bike outfits have product lines as long as the London telephone directory *all* revolving around colour. The last time I checked, all of the aforementioned cool cars weren’t models you’d find in the manufacturer catalog. But you could find a Chrysler LeBaron in a dizzying array of colour choices.
if you have to pick one cycle brand a family of product to use and only use which and why? (garmin wahoo / shimano sram / time look) not to bothered for finishing kit bits and bobs but which one does inegration best and who should take notes to update or follow the pack with their product.
2:50 what about completely ruining aero gains made with that number and bar-stem by mounting her giant bike computer on top instead on some kind of aero computer mount ?
Peak Keira was when she rode Wyndy Milla. Speaking of WM, anybody knows what happened to them? They totally disappeared from every multiverse. IG gone, website gone. Got snapped by Thanos, have they?
I love everything Chris Miller...the show, Jesse Coyle (I think that's how it's spelled) and his aesthetic for all things cycling. But that bike....yuck...I would have wrapped that thing asap or painted it. Looks like a booger! I simply figured he got that bike for free or was given to him by a local shop as a color they just couldn't sell and wanted to get rid of. lol.
Meh. Mostly mass-produced plastic bikes and a cargo bike. I like the idea of cargo bikes though, especially as a replacement for a car. I just don’t have a need for a cargo bike personally. I have to admit I like Brooks Cambium saddles. I’m also a fan of mudguards and dynamo hubs (very useful and practical). It would have been nice to see a titanium or steel bike from Ritte rather than carbon. Carbon is overrated in my opinion.
Fun fact: That is indeed the shape of my chest and definitely not a lav mic…
Thanks for roasting my ride, you were too kind! Hit me up when you’re in LA, let’s ride 🫡
My two favorite cycling youtubers! Hoping a video comes out of this (also if you do a no drop ride I might come, I live a couple hours NW of LA)
@@DanBrim LOL, if there's a no-drop ride the week I'll be in LA, that would be amazing. I'll have to keep my eyes out.
Yes!! We need this collab! bring Mary Spender along!
"You're doing the flames?" that's not what i saw.
😂😂😂
LOL. Took your lead and lit the BBQ.
Hernia check!
i think that cervelo looks fire ;)
Got ‘em by the ‘nads I’d say!
"Giant" bike shops 😂 cheers from the southeast US. Josh is obviously a giant in his own right 👊
Josh is a superhero. Calm and brave. Absolutely love him
Mitch's bike is easily a 10/10. Criminally underrated.
"She played at my wedding", just dropping a casual flex
Mary Spender is a flex? 😂
Lol, Spender. Over the top editing from someone who does such chill music. 14/10
At 6'7" I have zero problems with 24oz bottles in my frame. The one advantage I ever get on a bike!
Aye I'm 6'5" and must admit I'd never even thought about bottles not fitting. Long rides I useualy run 2- 1 liter bottles no bother 😅
Came for the Nero roast, pleased with the result. That S5 is delicious 😻
Francis went on a bender with Spender
That's clearly a Fanta, not sprite!! 🍹🍹
Big respect to Josh
Top guy shouldn't be nowhere near a roasting sess.
12:54 "Follicley challenged" is a great way to describe yourself, Jimmy 😂
I have Brooks Cambium C17 saddles on my two Bullitt cargobikes and I love them.
never put a c15 on your road bike though. Not the one.
Okay I found Tony's bike's fatal flaw! His headlight is at the wrong angle-pointing upwards?? ... wrong!! 🫣😉 4/10 (Also, those dogs get a 10/10.)
You guys should roast: Joe 👉 China Cycling/Panda Podium, Amy Hudson 👉 Amy Cycling Adventures and Luke 👉 Trace Velo. (BTW, fun episode.)

Specialized tyres are actually very good, especially the pathfinders which Kiera had on her bike. Some other speccy tyres of note: ground control, turbo cotton's, nimbus and sawtooth.
I mean it's the tyre of choice for gravel pros without tyre sponsors. That, or contis.
Just goes to show that not all they say is gold
I've now got a bevvy of specialized tires and my go to road and touring tires are the Roubaix Pro's, Sawtooth for light gravel touring. Great tires.
What kind of roast is this? You were complimentary of every single bike!😂 Mary also has a very cool custom shop Martin guitar.
I frigging LOVE my alloy Giant Defy. Rode a Pinarello X in Mallorca and would deffo fly the Defy out next time.
I am cackling at you two losing your shit over Giant bike shops :D
If there's any real roasting here can anyone provide a timestamp as i missed it.
You must be new , they never actually roast, these are praise only chicken out vids.
I ride my non-electric omnium cargo around hilly scotland and manage fine - what I lack in electric boost I make up for in a 22t front 36t back granny gear. Ive maxed out the tyre size to 2.1 front and 2.25 rear and its surprisingly capable off road!
The bottles on that Ritte look like fire extinguishers. Not needed though as not much roasting going on! All good fun though 🙂
Hey guys what's the most shallowest drop bar on the market might be an interesting video to do. Keep up the good work love the channel.👍🏻
No mention of the insane seatpost extension of Camerons (dads) bike??!! It looks ridiculous, could've easily roasted him on that one 😂
EDIT: After further watching, you have to actually roast the bikes and not review them! Missed opportunity on Joshs Giant with the dork disc still on :D Or at least provide a quick roast and then review.
Slam that stem!
10:19 I love you kiddos. Exactly my sense of silly humor.
This is probably the funniest video here yet oh god I love you guys lmao
OK, so... Rhett Shull (who I did not know cycled) in Ep 1, Mary Spender (who I did) in Ep2 ... my challenge to you - Dan Steinhardt and Mick Taylor of That Pedal Show, please!

Follically challenged had my sides in orbit.

Also: day 2 of calling cervelos ugly bikes.
Just lean into the GCN idea and have fans summit their bikes for a roast via a Subreddit 😂
Fun video boys. Well done. I'm roasting you both for something off-topic and pointless... Get your facial hair neck and cheek lines sorted. Or, is that shabby style cool in the UK? 😂
Here we go again , hardly any proper roasting at all , Jimmy Carr would on the dole if his roasting was as weak as this.
10:24 I don’t think that this is true - I’ve never seen one and they would be very easy to spot.
Mary Sender and Rhett Shule WTF my worlds all cozy together❤❤❤
12:20 For bottle cage extenders, I've used Wolftooth with great success
the cervelo and scott foil has a formed seat tube around the rear wheel, the cervelo has the down tube formed around the front wheel but the foil doesnt. presumably closing that gap is faster, looks wise its not as neat, changing that down tube on the foil similar to the cervelo would make it look so much better.
Can we have a 'lesser known TH-camr Bike Setups' video?! 😂

The nicest roast video i've ever seen.
You'll have to roast @harry-palmer next... I mean he is a triathlete after all haha
The flames are lit
I think the lads need to look up the definition of roast 😂
Chris Miller is such a top guy
Also, side-entry bottle cages!
Seems like Jimmy and I have the same taste in bikes, however, whenever I see a venge I think of Cav, and that makes it a 10/10.

Some ideas, Cycling Tom, triathlete Lionel Sanders or Alex Dowsett
I think Cam's dad's bike is a specialized Allez. Mary's defy is the bike I'd like to try.
Definitely what he said, which makes it an aluminum frame, not the mid tier carbon they implied, and probably a thousand or more bucks cheaper.
if you have to pick one cycle brand a family of product to use and only use which and why? (garmin wahoo / shimano sram / time look) not to bothered for finishing kit bits and bobs but which one does inegration best and who should take notes to update or follow the pack with their product.
My vote is for round wheels.
The colour is "Grello". FIFO workers know this
so solid crew from brit awards 2002 image flash at 26:00?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw it
Roast GC Performance next.
Which one?
I follow Mitch Boyer on yt, nice guy, nice bike. you guys should try the steepest climbs he did in NZ.
I have the same exact giant revolt. it's a killer bike for the price.
Guys. That yellow Cervelo doesn’t have bottle cages. It’s a no-no.
With those cervelo mono u can't go uphill hahajjajaa
where do I submit my bike 😂
Ritte bike had SLF Motion OSPW system that is carbon gents. You missed that 🙂
26:00 subliminal message or nostalgic romp through Brit music award history?
While that cervelo shows that 30mm tyres can be raced. I think Pogi's 30mm tyres is more proof
Roast Jesse’s TCR and his new build - Jesse from the Nero Show
Get a party pace bike on there with Path Less Pedaled!
Giant Revolt bottle - use side entry cages.
The scott just need a deeper wheels for such a deep down tube and fork
The Omnium was my favorite ❤️
2:50 what about completely ruining aero gains made with that number and bar-stem by mounting her giant bike computer on top instead on some kind of aero computer mount ?
Came here just for Miller's bike!
What happened to Josh that got him arrested?!?
Next time try roasting Ollie from GCN
Peak Keira was when she rode Wyndy Milla. Speaking of WM, anybody knows what happened to them? They totally disappeared from every multiverse. IG gone, website gone. Got snapped by Thanos, have they?
You should get them to submit their first bikes - much easier to roast
If you own a Cervelo you certainly want to be very very good friends with a very good bike mechanic
would love for you to do a podcast with Josh
Mary Spenders Giant Defy doesn't have an "integrated seatpost and stem" (as Francis said) and why isn't she riding the Liv version?
I want to be included into this :B
I really want a cargo bike and electric assist of 500w would be awesome
Please check out Etoe, hes a german making incredible custom painted bikes, which look extremely neat and clean.
12:39 it's a tiny giant!
The front fender stays on the Omnium look like they could gouge a hole in somebody's leg.. or perhaps it's just mi eyes seeing things
I love everything Chris Miller...the show, Jesse Coyle (I think that's how it's spelled) and his aesthetic for all things cycling. But that bike....yuck...I would have wrapped that thing asap or painted it. Looks like a booger! I simply figured he got that bike for free or was given to him by a local shop as a color they just couldn't sell and wanted to get rid of. lol.
Dylan Johnson with his unbound bike
It’s got two wheels 10/10.
“So solid” 🤣🤣🤣
You are bad roasters 😂
PLLLLS also make a roast about Spindatt TH-camr Rawnstercross
Did anyone else see these guys in tour de france unchained for about 3 seconds
no dork disc roasting? c'mon guys
Tarmac SL6 with an external seat clamp?
Am I the only one waiting for cycling youtuber boxing?
