Going to OC next week to spend some time with the grandkids, eat delicious meals & enjoy ourselves. We have neighbors in thier 70's that have a beautiful house on a double lot with a two car garage & screened in porch. They have some medical problems but refuse to retire there because they said nearest hospital with good doctors & specialist are too far away.
We hope you enjoy your visit to OC next week. Reach out if you have any questions while you're here. You raise a good point regarding the access to medical care. Yes, medical care on the 'shore' has been playing catch-up for a while. While it's certainly not quite the same as Hospitals in Balt, DC or Philly, the local care has made huge strides in the last few years! Most of the local medical teams and hospitals regularly consult with specialists elsewhere, and the quality of care has improved quite dramatically from years ago.
Along with our summer week at OC we usually go down Thanksgiving week. OC has a lot more restaurants open all year ( might only be 5 days ) then to NJ shore towns. Nice that Dollies, Fisher popcorn and other places are open all year. Always come home with a huge can of Carmel popcorn, peanut butter salt water taffies and fudge. We spend a morning at the Salisbury mall and the three Rohobeth beach outlet centers. My wife has to stop & shop at every Kitchen store down there.
We are huge fans of the caramel popcorn! We are lucky to live where we do and be close to all of the wonderful shopping centers. Which Kitchen store is your wife's favorite? And what stores do you usually stop in when in Rehobeth?
We scraped our plans to relocate to Sarasota/St Petersburg and are now focusing on Ocean Pines and Shelbeyville. More than likely Ocean Pines. I’m a Disabled Veteran who is exempt from Property Taxes. Looking to purchase within the next 16 months. I think we are interested in working with you.
Let's start with what's most important here... Thank you for serving!!! And yes, we'd absolutely love to help you relocate to Ocean Pines, Berlin, OC, Selbyville or anywhere in the resort area. Crazy story, I'm a big fan of Sarasota, with lots of family friends and clients living in the Sarasota, Lido and Siesta areas. My heart breaks to see the surprise flooding that happened there this past week. It's an area I love to visit, but between the storms, and the sweltering heat/humidity, I'll keep my feet firmly planted here in OC! Plus, my roots are here and I'm partial to the fact that we have 3.5 amazing seasons a year :) Feel free to email me directly this week at Grant@GrantF.com Tell me a little more about what you're looking for (who you are, what you want, need, size, price point, location, features ect...). We'll help dial the search in so we can get things moving for you
This is a great question! It's funny to think about people living year round in a resort town, isn't it? But, that's what makes us so lucky! We certainly recognize how blessed we are to wake up every day and be minutes from the beach. Although we have many realtor friends who live here full time as well, the careers in OC extend beyond that. We have many friends and family members who are teachers, employees who work for the Town of Ocean City, restaurant owners, small (local) business owners and more! Our year round locals are the heart of our beloved town and they keep Ocean City going! As for Jon and I, we simply LOVE the beach lifestyle and we cannot get enough of it. This is why we encourage anyone looking to make a lifestyle change to move to the beach. It is nothing short of amazing and there is a reason we love to call it HOME. If you're thinking about making the move to the beach, feel free to email me directly at Grant@GrantF.com! I'd love to go into greater detail about the beach lifestyle and help you find what you're looking for!

OC is great, but Maryland has high state taxes
What do people do for a living who live in OC year round?!?!

I would love to move to the beach
It's the lifestyle we love to live!
The worst things in OC are the realtors.
Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion! But I think we could change your mind 🤣
