You made this look easy: from the airport straight to the mountain. Please share your regular fitness routine. I'm considering the climb for 2025 and can use your tips of you are willing to share.
When you said in one of the replies 'take the extra day', do you mean do the 6 day trek rather than 5 or take 7 days rather than 6. I'm booked to do the climb mid June on the 6 day Marangu trek but am quite worried about the short time for acclimatisation.
*_Hello Caroline... I'm very grateful that you, a young climber, have the opportunity to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, how does it feel... I have to support your channel so I can follow your adventures in your next video... Greetings to me Rudy Tutorial outdoor from Indonesia.._* 👣⛰🌋🏕💯👌👍🙏
Am planning to hike next month ,am in Kenya near holili border,do I really need a guide if am only hiking to maranda hut?am used to mountains in Kenya,I have done Mt Kenya,Mt longonot,Mt ol odoinyo orok, and others
That's the approximate success rate for the 5-day itinerary, which is very aggressive. The extra day to acclimatize, like she did, approximately doubles the success rate. Package costs are all over the place depending on the guide company and their offerings. I'm going on this route next week, also the 6-day, and most of the cost highlights for my trip are as follows: Guide package: $2,200 Gratuities: $250-300 Visa: $100 Insurance: $100+ (required) Airfare: $1,400 (from US) Rental equipment is extra, but I have all my own, so I can't speak to how much they charge for various items. The $2200 includes meals, lodging day before and day after the trek, lodging at the camps, transport from Kilimanjaro International Airport and gov fees for the climbing permit, etc. We booked a 7th day in case 1 more day would make the difference between success or failure. If we make it in 6, then we could use a down day before the long return journey. The Tanzanian visa is $50 for all countries except the US, but if you're from the US, then they double it.
@invictus5649 thanks and all the best to your hike! Time flies and I have completed my hike in June 2024 via 8-day Lemosho route :) Was really tough on the summit night. Po Le Po Le!
@guoyaoteam That's awesome! Our 6-day trek up Marangu went well. I knew that last night/day up was going to be brutal, but I wasn't sure exactly how my brain and body would respond 5,000' higher than I've ever climbed. It was like walking through a dream. I was in such a daze up there that it took a while for some of the memories to come back to me later on.
@@guoyaoteam I'm leaning toward Mt Massive, then Capitol Peak and possibly a second climb of Longs in 2025. I'm more of a Colorado 14'er soloist. Kili was my first mountain with friends, and also my first with an expedition team. We want to go back to Tanzania in a few years for Mt. Meru, also with Altezza because they're very organized and reasonable, and with the same guides because Imran and Dave are awesome! We're considering other options as a group between now and then. Parinacota has come up as a possibility, Fuji is a strong possibility, and they think I'm crazy when I bring up my desire to climb Denali. How about you?

I think you will still need to buy a permit even if you are just going to Mandara Hut
Caroline, what month did you climb the mountain?
I climbed in July
Hello! May i check with u how much was the package and is it true that success rate on this route is only about 30%? Thank you!
