Piano Trio No.2 by Schubert is a work that brought him both popular acclaim and financial success. It consists of a total of four movements, with the second movement being particularly popular. Schubert drew inspiration from a Swedish folk song for this movement. The piece begins slowly with melodies played on the piano, cello, and violin. As the violin’s main theme emerges, it leaves a poignant resonance in the listener’s heart. This trio, along with Beethoven’s “Archduke” Piano Trio No.7, Op.97 and Mendelssohn’s “Piano Trio No.1 in D minor, Op.49”, is considered one of the most famous piano trios .
