Ohhh! I'm looking forward to that reaction! It's a great movie to a great trilogy! I really hope you'll enjoy it! By the by, and I think I've commented this in a previous video but I'm going to do it again anyways, there are these two fun movies I'd love to see you react to! If you ever want to react to gorgeous animated films not made by Disney or Dreamworks, please do consider "Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'hoole" or "Wolfwalkers". The first one's this beautiful 3d-animated film about owls released way back in 2010. Still holds up despite its age visually. The second movie is this brilliantly unique 2D animation released just last 2020; it doesn't get as much attention as I think it deserves.
To touch on what you said in the beginning, in the Bible the story of Joseph is the explanation for why the Hebrews were in Egypt during Moses' time. Though it was generations later so the Pharoah didn't really know or care about Joseph's contributions to the kingdoms
For some historical context it’s worth nothing that Egypt had two dynasties ruling the territory. The lower kingdom housed the Hyksos Dynasty, these were semantic people who had invaded Egypt from Mesopotamia. Hence why Joseph was more than likely able to rise up the ranks due to the cultural and perhaps even linguistic similarities. Eventually the Upper Kingdom dynasty will reclaim the territory and force the Hyksos out of Egypt, hence the Pharaoh who does not of Joseph and mistreats/enslaves the Hebrews due to their connection to the Hyksos.
@@radioraheem9820 there was also a tomb discovered in Goshen, Egypt that historians are believing was the initial resting place of Joseph until Moses took his bones back to Canaan. 12 tombs (12 sons) of were discovered, with one being a pyramid tomb (only Egyptian royalty had that privilege). The smashed statue of the figure had red hair (the color for the Egyptian depiction of Hebrews and Semitic folk) and you could make out colored stripes on what is believed to have represented a multicolored coat.
I cried watching this movie. "My brothers will come for me!" That line always hit me right in the feels. Truly one of the greatest Bible story ever told. I suggest watching this movie back to back with The Prince of Egypt. It makes me sad how the Egyptians treated Joseph's descendants 400 years after Joseph himself saved their country from the famine.
@@pedrosilvasouto7320 I‘m sorry you feel that way. I definitely agree that you can build a family with people you love. But the message of this movie is not that Biology is the only family but that people can change. Not all do, but they can. I don’t want to excuse what they did, but Joseph being able to forgive is not toxic but very powerfull. This movie tells us that forgiveness is a gracious gift, which is so hard to give. But if you’re able to give it, it will make you even stronger.
@@pedrosilvasouto7320 it wouldn’t have been healthy for Joseph to hold onto that hate and allow it to fester over time. It can turn a person bitter. Forgiveness isn’t for the people we forgive but for our own sake. Joseph realized that God had a bigger purpose for him by allowing his brothers to sell him into slavery. That’s what the song “Better Than I” is all about.
The interesting thing is that Jacob, in his youth, stole his father’s blessing from his older brother, and his older brother, Esau, wanted to kill him for stealing his blessing. Jacob ran away from him for years, but when Esau finally found him, he embraced him and gave him his forgiveness. You’d think Jacob would have learned his damn lesson about messing with fatherly affection.
Jacob didn't steal from Esau his father's blessing. Esau sold his birthright to Jacob for a plate of soup (which showed that it meant little to him), and then regretted it and was angry at Jacob. He then didnt have right to his father blessing
@@zofiakaczmarczyk581 Isaac told Esau to fix him something to eat. Jacob’s mother knew his eyesight was failing him, so she made up Jacob with lamb’s wool to look like his brother (Esau was very hairy) and cooked it before Esau could come home. Isaac gave him his blessing while half blind and couldn’t give anything to Esau when he returned.
The real issue was how Esau treated his birthright. Those days your birthright was extremely important even spiritually. And Jacob knew this. That's why God's said Jacob have I loved Esau have I hated because Esau treated his birthright like it was nothing. Also due to the change in birthright we were able to continue the rightful line all the way to Joseph ( Jesus's earth father)
@@nickmanzo8459 This is true. But long before these events, what I wrote above happened: Esau one day came back tired from hunting and told Jacob to give him soup. Jacob told Esau to sell him his birthright in return. Esau agreed to this. This is described in Genesis 25: 29-34. Then, as you wrote, when Isaac, their father, was dying Esau wanted to receive his blessing, which he didn't have right to because he had sold it to Jacob before.
@@zofiakaczmarczyk581 my point is that Jacob partly did what he did because of his father’s attachment to Esau and him desiring it. I’m not trying to make a federal case here, but my point is that Jacob essentially was repeating the same thing his father had done in favoring one son over the other, soup or no soup.

The background story to that is a bit deeper. The older brothers are his half siblings and their father was tricked into marrying the brother's mother when he worked to earn the right to marry Joseph's mother. After the marriage, because of the Father's favoritism, God made Joseph's mother barren. Joseph was the first born after over a decade of being barren. Not cool still but deeper...

Yes, and I think it was actually 22 years. He was 13 when Joseph was sold 13 years of slavery and prison. 7 years of slavery, and 2 years of famine when his brother's came. Joseph was a teenager. So they wouldn't have recognized him after that long. And it was silver cup that he framed Benjamin with as a test, to see if his brother's had truly changed.
@@pedrosilvasouto7320 well Jesus teaches us something else. Hmmm... Something about forgiveness ( Matthew 18:22-22). Why hold that grudge?? 2. It's had been about 20 years. 3. Joseph had the gift of forgiveness. I think it is really beautiful. Also he gives them a second change. (They are family after all). 4. Pedro Silva Souto oh please. its about the story of joseph and loving your neighbor as u love yourself and forgiving them no matter how theyve treated you. because thats what God wants. it’s more of jacob’s fault, anyway. never paying attention to his other kids. the whole story about him and his wives is just crazy and sad. the fact that joseph was able to forgive them after testing them means alot. and the test joseph put him through proves his brothers changed and they regretted selling him into slavery.
Jiska Frijns i totally agree. except no one DESERVES a second chance but God has the mercy and love to give us second chances. i freaking cried when i watched the movie and read genesis. the fact that joseph was able to forgive his brothers was beautiful. i love the story of joseph. but i really don’t like jacob.
Pedro Silva Souto would u rather live in a world of love or a world full of hatered? getting rid of ur grudges and hatered is how u get peace. come on, do u like being angry and hating on people? its unhealthy.
To know why Jacob values Joseph above all his other sons, you have to know his story. Jacob was in love with a woman named Rachel. He had made an arrangement with her father to marry her, but he was tricked into marrying Rachel's older sister Leah before he was allowed to marry Rachel. Jacob didn't love Leah, but was stuck with her. Joseph was Rachel's son, while the others were the sons of Leah and two servents.
wait really?! i remember watching this show called jose de egito and i just remembered leah being extremely jealous of rachel and she fed into judah’s hatred for joseph before they sold him. that’s so interesting. i think i might’ve slipped through that part.
@@minminygyg Yes, Leah was very jealous of Rachel. The Bible describes Rachel as being very beautiful and Leah being not so much. It literally says she had eyes like a cow. Leah prayed to God to make Jacob love her and so he made Rachel barren and Leah extremely fertile. This led to Rachel becoming jealous of Leah because Leah could give Jacob children. It started a competition to see which wife could bear the most children and therfore be most deserving of thier husbands love. So Rachel gets Jacob to impregnate her handmaid and counts those kids as hers, but then Leah just does the same thing and pulls back into the lead. Eventually God answers Rachel's prayers to lift the curse he put on her and she has Joseph, who is clearly Jacob's favorite kid. However, the other 12 sons descendants became the 12 tribes of Israel with Judah's lineage producing legendary figures such as David, Solomon, and Jesus. Which is why one of his nicknames is The Lion of Judah.
@@LukeZwarteVacht I don't think the Bible described it like that... I thought it was more among the lines of "Leah wasn't as loved as Rachel, so God took pity and blessed her with children". I don't remember any "curse" on Rachel being mentioned, she just couldn't have kids for a long while.

If only this movie was given a larger budget for the animation, and the songs instrumentals. It would have been a perfect prequel to the Prince of Egypt
I mean, for a direct to video movie its still pretty darn good. Especially when you compare it to Disney’s sequels from the same era, like Return of Jafar, Pocahontas 2, Hunchback 2 and other crappy movies that were made purely as a quick cash grab, and NOT to actually make good stories. I find Prince of Egypt pretty underrated as a Dreamworks movie, and its arguably better than the Lion King
Your reaction to The Prince of Egypt was so great I think because you were being introduced to the story. I grew up on that story so it was so interesting for me to see someone learning it for the first time! Not to mention your empathy and curiosity for everything you watch.
In retrospect Joseph was the chosen one amongst his brothers. He represented a type of perfection in the sense of his Love and connection with God. His ability to flee temptation from Potifers wife, his humility and also FORGIVE his brothers despite what happened. Also his line leads all the way to great men of God and Jesus (in the way of jospeh his earthly father)
Thank you for reacting to this movie, such a beautiful movie Im a Christian myself so I've studied the book of Genesis and the story of Joseph, such an amazing story. The Lesson is Whatever harm or evil people intend for you, will be turned around and used for good. ( Genesis 50:20).
So unfortunately the pharaohs that came after the nicer one that invited Joseph into his ranks were not as accommodating about Joseph’s religion....why the generations of their families were enslaved afterwards, thus Moses
Yeah but we see the two differences the Pharaoh that invited Joseph his Kingdom Flourished and when we look at the future those who were far crueler and corrupt during Moses era their Kingdom fell. I kinda like looking at the two and seeing how one grew beautifully due to Joseph's guidance and the other fell due to the current Pharaohs ignorance
IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU'RE NOT THAT RELIGIOUS!!! YOUR REACTIONS ARE SO HONEST AND PURE 💖✨ I am catholic and I treasure this movie and the prince of Egypt a lot but YOUR REACTIONS ARE WONDERFUL 🤗🤗
Josefs birth family is the ancestors to Moses birth family. The Bible tells us that the Pharaoh allowed Joseph to bring Jacob and his family to Egypt, where he took care of them. Generations later, Moses was to lead the descendents of Jacob out of slavery and Egypt to their promised land. Among the items that Moses brought from Egypt were the bones of his predecessor, Joseph.
17:14 They wonderfully toned this down for kids, but in the Bible this is much darker. In the movie, she wants affection from Joseph, and he refuses to flirt since she's his master's wife. She accuses him of trying to hurt her(like beat her or something). In Genesis chapter 39, Potiphar's Wife wants to have sex with Joseph and asks him numerous times. He refuses for the same reason. When the anger fumes her too much, she accuses him of RAPING her, and that gets him imprisoned. Kids hear this story in Sunday School, but they are usually just told "Potiphar's wife wanted to date him" or something tame like that. And he was accused of harm. That's how we tone it down for kids.
In my illustrated Bible stories book, it says that she tried to get Joseph to kiss her. That's what I grew up hearing, but years later, I read the actual story in the Bible, and realized what she really was trying to get him to do.

Joseph: tells his brothers who he is and forgives them My unforgiving self though: reminds them of the one dream 20 years ago that I am the stars holding power all over Egypt and demand them to bow to me like wheat. And MAYBE forgive them

@@JTF2402 but since you asked in No. 4. I will never forgive them. And then knowing that I could die in the process cause of mistreatments of slavery, I would never ever forgive them.
What kind of good can come out of this? That's making a bad situation worse. That's not forgiveness that's revenge. Joseph's brother are not blind. They can see that his status is way above theirs. No need to rub it in. Joseph was angry because he loved his brothers, so hearing their confession gave him the closure he needed to forgive them.
I remember as a kid i liked this story more because "it was less dark" than prince of egypt (fr the plague scene and the smiting of the firstborn were traumatizing for 3 year-old me😥). I didn't even notice the SIGNIFICANT declining in animation quality from prince of egypt to joseph.
This story has always been a favorite of mine, along with Esther. The music is beautiful and catchy and the art acceptable. I didn’t care for Prince of Egypt just because I don’t like the story of Moses. It’s not a bad story, just that is has been done over and over and over and over and over. I agree with Nick. Prince of Egypt is more epic, but this is more relatable.
It is still a strong story with a strong meaning. It is just on an other level that prince of Egypt. This is more personal. (It is not about slavery if a whole country, but more about family betrayal)
@@misssteak1290 Yes! For me, it was the scene of the babies being thrown to the crocodiles. Major credit to the side VAs. The Baker's lines as he was dragged away always rattled me. "You knew. You knew! That's not a gift! It's a curse!" No idea what he was channeling to get that kind of terror in his voice, but wow.
So, the dream with the wolves: I like to think that the wolves can be interpreted as Joseph's brothers, and that the actual wolf attack was a coincidence.
It absolutely was. Good observation. It comes up again with the story that he was killed by wolves. The old Joseph was killed by his brother's act of selling him into slavery. I see it like that too.
It did. If you look closely, the camera angle of Joseph walking, his expression, the positions the wolves were in, and the wolf behind him, it happened again step by step in reality
And that's why people came up with the term Wolf in sheep's clothing even the people you trust with your whole life could very well be the ones who do you great harm much like Joseph and his brothers

I think you’d really love Anastasia (1997) it has great story, AMAZING soundtrack and animation is so realistic!!! it’s also based on a real story + creative liberties
Don't take it as a real story though. Many of the people there existed, but their fate is much more different than what the movie shows. Just think of the movie taking advantage of legends and theories that were very popular back then to make a great story.
Honestly? I like this movie more than The Prince of Egypt as well. I feel like the reason most people say Prince of Egypt is better is because of the visuals and the songs, but the story itself? I like Joseph's a lot better, even of it has an emotional climax instead of an action-packed one.
Same!! The betrayal of the brothers. The pain Joseph feels. The INJUSTICE done to Joseph. Joseph's anger at God and finding his way. Forgiving his brothers who regreted what they had done.... It is just so powerful on a smaller/personal scale! (Moses: larger scale. Slavery and freedom of a people).
“Better Than I” is such an underrated song! That moment at 29:33 when Joseph realizes that his dream about his brothers bowing to him has come true when Judah begged at his feet! So powerful. I cry at the end of this movie every time!
Yes yes yes! So glad to finally see someone react to this. Had the Prince of Egypt and Joseph: King Of Dreams on VHS as a double feature. I always preferred this one as a kid, don't know why. It was probably the visuals and the story was a little less depressing 😆 I haven't seen this movie since I was a kid, so I'm just now noticing the very obvious Van Gogh style of his dreams 😂 Should always rewatch childhood movies when you're older, you pick up on so much more!
Since you enjoyed the music in this I would highly recommend "Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat". The story is the same but the entire movie is a musical play based off of the stage play. Danny Osmund plays Joseph so you can expect to hear good songs from him. To me every song in the musical is almost if not better than the best song in this movie.
We had a cd when I was a kid called The Very Best of Andrew Lloyd Webber and it had Close Every Door from Joseph on it and I was OBSESSED with that song. I'd listen to it on repeat sometimes because Donny Osmond's voice is just so incredible.
To paraphrase another commentary channel on this movie, since Mark Hamill voiced Judah and Ben Affleck voiced Joseph that means Joseph: King of Dreams is technically a Batman and Joker movie. 😂
The symbolism in this film is amazing, we hear Joseph talk about his dream and how his brothers wheat bowed to him, and then they later bowed to him as well. Near the end, Joseph's brothers come to Egypt for grain and as they're begging for him to take one of them in place of Benjamin, they're all bowing to him. I would have loved for you to watch Joseph before Prince of Egypt only because the Israelites moved to Egypt during the famine while Joseph was the high official and Moses led them out so it might have made a little more sense. Overall another great reaction!
The message of the song Better Than I got me through my good friend’s death. She had suffered from a heart defect for years and after countless medical procedures over five years to try and save her she finally succumbed to her disease. I asked God why He took her, especially from her husband and young son, but every time I did I listened to that song. A short time later the pandemic struck and I finally understood why she was taken when she was. She would have suffered even more if she had contracted the virus, and considering how sick she was there’s no doubt in my mind she would have. I know she is safe in the arms of God now.
I'm so glad you chose to watch this after Prince of Egypt. The story of Joseph is such an amazing story of brotherly love and struggle. It's just sad to know how the Egyptians will turn on Joseph's family and enslave them after their country was saved by them.
Hmm, I was thinking other stories. Jesus' story has been done many times, and in part Moses' too, but not as much. Joseph's however, you don't see much of it. It would've been awesome if Dreamworks kept telling Bible stories that are either overlooked or forgotten in general media.
I love this movie, mostly for the songs, but it leaves out two of my favorite pieces from the original story - the moment (not involving Joseph) that Judah finally wakes up and realizes what a terrible person he is, and the *_multiple_* times during the whole back-and-forth with the brothers in Egypt when Joseph has to hurriedly leave the room in order to bawl his eyes out.
Now that I am an adult, I can kind of see how this has a lower budget from The Prince of Egypt. However, the people involved clearly still cared so much about making a great final product.
So some backstory: so this story takes place before The Prince of Egypt. It explains why all the Hebrews are in Egypt. During the years after this movie the Hebrews became plentiful and the Egyptians enslaved them because they feared that they had become too powerful. Really enjoyed the reactions!
My grandma had this on video. I didn't see the prince of egypt until I was way older, so I didn't have any of the 'prequelhate' lots of people have + it's nostalgic. Really love this movie. It's not on par with prince of egypt but prince of egypt is PRINCE OF EGYPT come on little can beat that give the also-decent prequel some slack xD
I remember watching this as a child and even then I thought that Jacob's overt favoritism for Joseph was a bit much. Granted, at the time I hadn't gotten the memo that they thought Rachel was barren. But still. Also Joseph's enslavement scene always made me feel reasonably uncomfortable, even if I didn't fully grasp why at the time.
Now Andrew Lloyd Webber famous for the musicals Cats, Phantom of the Opera, and Jesus Christ Superstar for his first musical did Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and he did that when he was in school and it became a hit. I remember seeing a vhs when I was little of a production of it that was filmed.
There aren't as many big celebrity voices in this one apart from Affleck (though many of them are recognizable to me since I know a lot of trivia lol). But you probably recognize Joseph's wife is the same voice as Ariel from The Little Mermaid. And one of the brothers is clearly Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker)

During the Exodus by Moses, the Hebrews took the mummified bones of Joseph back to the Promised Land with them. They show this in the movie The Ten Commandments.
That's in the Bible. Joseph made the people promise they'd take his remains from Egypt once the Hebrews left, and their descendants remembered that promise.
One of my favorite scriptures comes from this story: “You meant to hurt me, but God turned your evil into good to save the lives of many people, which is being done.” Genesis 50:20 NCV
I got so uncomfortable when that woman (I don’t remember the name, the important guy’s wife) started going after Joseph, like it’s abusing your power to get what you want from somebody even if it puts them in a horrible position. And they can’t fight back. I don’t know how to call this situation more correctly- grooming or sexual assault, but the entire dialogue near that wall I just kept internally screaming “LEAVE THE BOY ALONE”
Great movie choice!! It’s defiantly not as good as Prince of Egypt but the story is on the same level. Movie recommendation- Sinbad Legend of the Seven Seas it has Brad Pitt, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michelle Pfeiffer, and the brother of the actor who voiced Ramses in Prince of Egypt- Joseph Fiennes.

@@ChanoCYBER9Avila it’s actually amazing. Goosebumps every time
To touch on what you said in the beginning, in the Bible the story of Joseph is the explanation for why the Hebrews were in Egypt during Moses' time.
@@ricardofloresCRS good to know
@@radioraheem9820 there was also a tomb discovered in Goshen, Egypt that historians are believing was the initial resting place of Joseph until Moses took his bones back to Canaan. 12 tombs (12 sons) of were discovered, with one being a pyramid tomb (only Egyptian royalty had that privilege). Edit. I'm just joking...
It's really their dad's fault for playing favorites so badly. Still, it doesn't excuse going as far as to dastardly sell him into slavery.

To be returned to his homeland. Joseph’s last request before he died was to be returned to the land of his forefathers: Canaan.
In my sunday school they told us what potiphar's wife tried to do point blank. I was scared for Joseph
In Sunday school: Potiphar’s wife wanted to kiss Joseph.
In the actual Bible: Potiphar’s wife wanted a “What are you doing, step-Joseph?” moment

Joseph was angry because he loved his brothers, so hearing their confession gave him the closure he needed to forgive them.

No idea what he was channeling to get that kind of terror in his voice, but wow.
Ooh, that's a good theory.
The actual wolf attack might have been the sign that Joseph's dreams become true, but the dream had a double prophetic meaning.

Not really, I mean, Rachel dies when giving birth to Benjamin, and Jacob had three other women, Lea, Bilha and Zilpha. Also had a daughter, Dina, but well, details.
yep
I think you’d really love Anastasia (1997) it has great story, AMAZING soundtrack and animation is so realistic!!! it’s also based on a real story + creative liberties
Plan on it!
@@nickflix8657 Can’t wait!! love your reactions❤️❤️❤️
My favorite movie from fox animation.
I’ve been waiting hopefully for that one!
I like the prince of Egypt better.
It was probably the visuals and the story was a little less depressing 😆
I haven't seen this movie since I was a kid, so I'm just now noticing the very obvious Van Gogh style of his dreams 😂 Should always rewatch childhood movies when you're older, you pick up on so much more!
Among one of the best "Straight to Video" movies out there.
To paraphrase another commentary channel on this movie, since Mark Hamill voiced Judah and Ben Affleck voiced Joseph that means Joseph: King of Dreams is technically a Batman and Joker movie. 😂
"I dont know what to do."
He talks like hes in the situation. Ahh, Nick.
Overall another great reaction!
idk of anyone else remembers this one but Cats Don’t Dance is an AMAZING one with great songs😁 one of my favorite villains too Darla is hilarious
She reminds me of the baby 👶🏻 doll from Batman TAS, Angelica pickles from rugrats, and Suzy Johnson from Phineas and Ferb.
YEEEEESSSS
Joseph: King of Dreams is how the Israelites came to Egypt, and Prince of Egypt is when they left.
God was always with them.
Isn't God so amazing, the way he do all things
This is more underrated than the prince of Egypt, I love these dreamworks Bible adaptions so much 😭
Me too. Including the 2D animation from my childhood.
They should've done more. I mean, we got two, which is better than nothing. Still, I wanted more.
@@lulystalgianature2968 yeah. Would’ve been cool to see one about Jesus
Hmm, I was thinking other stories. Jesus' story has been done many times, and in part Moses' too, but not as much. Joseph's however, you don't see much of it. It would've been awesome if Dreamworks kept telling Bible stories that are either overlooked or forgotten in general media.
@@lulystalgianature2968 yeah I guess your right... maybe one about Caine and Able would be cool too 🤔
I love this movie, mostly for the songs, but it leaves out two of my favorite pieces from the original story - the moment (not involving Joseph) that Judah finally wakes up and realizes what a terrible person he is, and the *_multiple_* times during the whole back-and-forth with the brothers in Egypt when Joseph has to hurriedly leave the room in order to bawl his eyes out.
I forgot how much the this movie hurts Joseph goes THROUGH it 🥺
YOU TRIMMED THE BEARD!!!!! Actually like the look haha
Haha thanks.
This movie is still one of my favorites. Thanks for watching it X3
I didn't know it was a prequel until wwwaaaaaayyyu later.
This is the most underrated Dreamworks film
Prince of Egypt and Joseph King of dreams came in a double movie box set in wallmart when I bought it
you just can’t watch one without the other 😌 if i watch joseph king of dreams i HAVE to watch prince of egypt
Now Andrew Lloyd Webber famous for the musicals Cats, Phantom of the Opera, and Jesus Christ Superstar for his first musical did Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and he did that when he was in school and it became a hit. I remember seeing a vhs when I was little of a production of it that was filmed.
would love to see your reaction to "The Black Cauldron"
probably the scariest Disney Movie they've every made
I highly recommend the books! 😁
@@vixiestarfire It's been on my reading list for a while now but I just haven't had the time :(
I'll get there eventually
I loved the movie as a child, but as an adult, I can understand it's flaws. The books however, are beyond AMAZING! One of my favorite book series!
Joseph's story reminds me of Nelson Mendela's, an incredible story of forgiveness.

This is what we call the "I saw Prince of Egypt and it was phenomenal so maybe they carried it on...oh wait no they didn't" syndrome.
It happens to everyone who sees it the first time. Prince of Egypt is one of a kind.
This movie is very underrated and the voice cast is incredible

I was first drawn into your channel by your Prince of Egypt reaction and I was so excited to see you watch Joseph King of Dreams! Both movies are absolutely beautiful interpretations of the biblical stories. I enjoyed watching your reaction! I grew up in a very religious home and while I don't really embrace those beliefs so much anymore, I still consider this movie and the Prince of Egypt to be very nostalgic and close to my heart. If you haven't reacted to it already, I also highly recommend Balto. It's not historically accurate, but the animation is lovely and I adore its soundtrack.
Oh my goodness😭, you watched this!! This movied seems to get overshadowed by Prince of Egypt, I didn't expect a reaction of this. Both movies are amazing! The song "You Know Better Than I" gets me every time. I'm so happy lol
I can see it from both sides. Both sides are understandable although the choices may not always be approved of. They have been compared to Joseph for many many years so all their anger and jealousy turned to cruelty.
Hey Nick! I found you through your Prince of Egypt video and subscribed right after if that tells you anything! Then I went on a binge of all the rest of your content haha. Thanks for being awesome!

Me: Well!!!
My cousin who works in animation, directed this film
During the Exodus by Moses, the Hebrews took the mummified bones of Joseph back to the Promised Land with them. They show this in the movie The Ten Commandments.
That's in the Bible. Joseph made the people promise they'd take his remains from Egypt once the Hebrews left, and their descendants remembered that promise.
@@lulystalgianature2968 I know, I only mentioned that it was shown in another film.
@@nickmanzo8459 Oh. Right. I watched teh movie, but I don't remember that part. I do recall it was very, very long. Like, possibly more than Titanic.
so many Bible studies are done in the book of Genesis of Joseph: a story of faith and perserverence, and in the end, leadership.
You are so amazing! So happy you did this movie, more people need to see it!
I wish Dreamworks still make these kind of movies . The songs are so wonderful and emotional.
"Do not be sad brothers, for what you intended for evil, God made it for good" - Joseph to his brothers after revealing himself to them
I'd honestly forgotten that this movie had such cool songs... I was so young when I last saw this, but I used to watch it so often.
I love your reactions and how genuine you are! Hopefully one day you will react to Anastasia! I sing songs from that all the time even now lol
One of my favorite scriptures comes from this story:
“You meant to hurt me, but God turned your evil into good to save the lives of many people, which is being done.”
Genesis 50:20 NCV
@@pedrosilvasouto7320 we aren't forcing you to forgive. You have every right to think that.

Moises (from The Prince Of Egypt) is a descendant of Levi, one of the brother of Joseph.
Nick, as a decently religious guy (I’m a church choir director in my day job), I like that I can give you extra context on what’s going on from a historical/religious perspective.
Haha thanks for the information 😊
@@nickflix8657 I’m not like super religious, but I am happy that you can see the value in telling these old stories, even without the context of faith.
I'm so glad you reacted to this, I used to watch this movie all the time with my papa when I was younger as he looked after me when my parents were busy working. He sadly passed away a few years ago but every time I watch this movie it brings back lots of amazing memories with him
