Something to keep in mind, the majority of the herd are operating on survival of the fittest mentality. That’s how it is for many wild animals. As for Kron’s death, while it doesn’t seem he took much damage, the Carnotaur picked him and shook him about before launching him into a bunch of rocks. He more than likely died from internal bleeding or a punctured lung as a result of his crushed ribs from the Carnotaur’s actions.
There was actually a REALLY cool (imo) method for how they created the scenery of this movie. They filmed in several locations around the world, from all sorts of environments, then cut different parts together. So in one shot you might see a beach from Hawaii, a jungle from Africa, and a sky sunset from Arizona. Honestly a great way to make it look familiar, but also otherworldly as the land would have been that long ago what with Pangea and all.
That’s pretty cool. In hindsight, the technology that Disney had at the time wasn’t advanced enough to be realistic as possible. So, that was a good direction on their part.
YES! I had to watch Zaboomafu after to calm myself down! I would always dim the lights and brightness of the tv so I wouldn’t have to endure that cave scene when the Disney Channel would do reruns. Even though I knew what happened cause I’ve seen the movie, didn’t change the fact I was still horrified.
well, I always loved dinosaurs, so this film, even as a kid did not scare me at all, in fact I recalled actually cheering for the carnotaurs to get the Protagonists lmao
@@Julio_Cezar1604 That does not sound like a healthy response even if you do love dino's. Your supposed to have some level of empathy towards the protags. Cheering for them to die seems a slightly...questionable response.
What I love about this film is that the "shaky cam" actually adds weight to the animated dinosaurs. Instead of just going crazy, they synchronize it with the movements of the characters. That's some neat cinematography, imo.
The meteor scene is one of my favorites in this movie: the music crescendo, the immediate silence at the moment of impact, and the chaos that follows. Very effective feeling of dread and intensity; I think the sound design and visual effects still hold up incredibly well after 22 years. The soundtrack definitely elevates the movie as a whole--brought to us by James Newton Howard, who did the recent Peter Pan as well!
Same as Atlantis the lost empire, fantastic beasts and where to find them, treasure planet, news of the world, the hunger games, and raya and the last dragon
I LOVE the soundtrack for this film. I still listen to it to this day, especially the scene where the lemurs are getting together on the tree before the meteor hits. Such a fun piece of music =)
"The Courtship" was performed by Lebo M. and his choir. Lebo M is reponsible for the opening title call from The Lion King as well as the African vocals from The Lion King.
Being a fan of dinosaurs, this film really wowed me when I saw it on the big screen, once upon a time. Even though it might seem like the story is similar to the premise of The Land Before Time in a way, I still found Disney’s Dinosaur to be a great film.🙂
TBH I think any film that’s about dinosaurs possibly surviving the meteor are going to risk being similar just given the setup. 😆 But I def see what you mean lol.
@@theawesomeman9821 I heard once that dragons were actually created when medieval people found dinosaur fossils and had no idea what to make of them. I have no idea if that’s true or not but it makes total sense.
The cgi models and live action scenery remind me a lot of BBC's excellent _Walking With Dinosaurs_ miniseries that came out the previous year. I really like it.
wich is an interesting case of parallel thinking, because theres no way the movie was inspired by wwd because by that time it was already in production for a while most likely, but both movie and series apply the same concept of mixing animated elements with real photography, and both take the subject of dinosaurs and apply an actual story to it instead of treating it as a documentary. walking with series did it in a more naturalistic way, but in each episode you still have a narrative going on.
I am truly loving lately how many nostalgia pieces Nick has been releasing (even if he isn’t super attached or likes a few- he’s still respectful about them and he’s allowed to dislike things) so thank you Nick! I remember watching this movie on the Disney channel when I was 4-5 years old and even though I loved the animation, the plot, and overall this movie, I will not lie that night scene in the cave gave me nightmares and I would hide. Even when the Disney channel would have reruns, and I already knew what would happen cause I’ve seen the movie multiple times, I would dim the brightness of the tv and all the lights so I wouldn’t see what happened in the cave. Then when the scene was over I corrected everything to how it original was. Sometimes I would still feel scared after, and watch Zaboomafu to calm my nerves. I think I finally stopped doing that when I was 10 haha.
@@BJenno you're lying to yourself. Yes it is a great, amazing movie even. But it isn't that good of a animation. It's beautiful for the time but it ain't that good
@lordiedams348 allow me to disagree that it is not great animation. And it grew old way too well. To me it is equal or even better than Avatar cgi that came like a decade later. But I respect your opinion
@@katerinaaqu i didn't meant to say it was ugly in any way im just saying the animation does hold very well and it may not be exactly perfect but that carnotaurus is terrifying
Imagine you're 6 years old. You're watching TV. You're used to watching Disney at this point. This trailer comes on. You don't know what it's about but you can't look away. You've never seen somthing like this before. It's not regular for Disney to make something that looks like this. It interests you. You keep watching. Usually you don't pay attention this long. But the music picks up and the beautiful sky view comes on screen. And you're hooked. You realize it's for a movie coming out soon, and you know you gotta watch it.
I really love the music during the meteor scene. It goes from awe and wonder to uneasiness, and then pure terror. It really seals the scene for me. The whole thing scared me as a kid
Something interesting about the movie is that they used real life scenarios, only the dinosaurs were animated. For a 2000 movie and being the fisrt Disney 3d animated movie (Not Pixar) it’s a pretty decent quality
Oh, Yeah. Pixar's The Good Dinosaur (2015), I don't know why everyone hates this movie, but you've gotta admit, it is such a good movie, and it was so very emotional. And I love this movie.
Sometimes I really forget that this is a Disney movie because it's so relatively dark, realistic and mature. Like it's SO GOOD, definitely contributed to child me's love of dinos. To this day the CGI holds up pretty damn well honestly, reminding me of Walking With Dinosaurs. Honestly wish more movies like this were made, I find it much more compelling than JP or JW.
This was so innovative at the time. Combining CGI dinosaurs with live-action backgrounds? Jurassic Park is one that helped make that possible, but in an environment without ANY humans! That DINOSAUR ride at Animal Kingdom in Florida featuring Iguanodon Alador is a plus! I loved riding on that!
Its honestly a great ride. The way they have the carnos running alongside the truck and appearing out of the dark is seriously well done. I've rode it like 5 times and every time they freak me out.
I had this cartoon on a disk, and revisiting it now, I have a feeling similar to Avatar 2009 (a simple plot, but a cool visual). It also pleases that despite the fact that the violence was minimized or hidden by the visual, the film feels the proper tension and sense of danger (the lesser danger is the Velociraptors, the greater is the Carnotaurs).
I understand that Disney's iguanodon Aladar has a beak so that he can imitate speech normally, but why did Disney strip the lions of their balls in the remake of The Lion King?
I still think this is much more complicated than Avatar. Anadar is a foreigner to his own people because he was not raised by them. The heard is led by the principle of survival of the fittest and Aladar is ruled by compassion. Here there is no real villain. Kron who is the closer to a villain is the herds leader and in a way "evil" is inside the very herd and is the mentality of every man for himself. Finally the United we stand separated we fall lesson at the end... No evil humans or anything really evil here. Somehow I think Dinosaur is much more complicated than many movies out there and certainly more complicated than Avatar to me
This movie was a STAPLE in my childhood. I rewatched this VHS SO many times. It fueled my love for dinosaurs and it just looked SO REAL to a kid like me growing up back then.
Yes, I am so happy that you decided to watch this movie. It's in my opinion one of the best dinosaur movies ever, this movie was the reason I fell in love with dinosaurs as a kid.
The music was done by James Newton Howard, and you’ve liked a lot of his stuff if I recall. 😄 Like Treasure Planet and Atlantis. They also brought back Lebo M to do the African choral work, which he also did for The Lion King. 💖 He’s a personal fave of mine!
He is one of the legends of the 90s and 2000s. This soundtrack is one of my top 3 for animated movies right next to Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron and if James can get on the same level of Hans Zimmer, you know he is great.
I was going to comment this if no one else did. James Newton Howard has one of the best ears for melody in the business. I would also add his Peter Pan (2003) score as one of his best and most breathtaking works.
@@forestcatkay14 They are phenomenal songs attached to phenomenal sequences in the movie. Glad you gave a shout out to the Spirit soundtrack, too. "Run Free" and "Homeland" will never fail to get me PUMPED.
I think the Carnotors were mates, so one of them lost their love, but I enjoyed the movie and the drastic moments were very drastic so they did the tones well
Here’s some of fun facts about Dinosaur. -In the early stages of development, it was originally gonna be a lot more violent and scary. I’m glad they changed it up cause the Carnotaurus attack in the beginning was enough to traumatize me as a child. - Kron is played by Samuel E Wright aka Sebastian from The Little Mermaid. -Aladar is played by D.B Swneeney, who would later play as Sitka from Brother Bear -Jennifer Lopez was gonna be considered to play as Neera
I love this movie! The shots composition, music, and environments are all amazing! The way they use water specifically is so satisfying. I also love the body animations for the dinosuars. The way their skin shakes and the way their bodies' move all conveys so much bulk and weight, I love it! I think my favorite scene is when the Carnotaurs enter the cave through the rain and it's just pouring over their head. Followed closely by any scene with Baylene. Her VA Joan Plowright was fantastic! It's just sadly all dragged down by character models that, while amazing for their time, don't hold up.
(At 20:22) this is what I like the difference between Kron and Brutron, they're both jerks but at least Brutron has a reason for being one he's ensuring everyone survives and he's very cautious. Kron is overconfident in himself and he's putting on an act, acting in power. While making poor decisions in the process.
this was one of the first soundtracks I purchased as a young one just because the music was so good. I saw this before I fell in love with Jurassic Park i give it credit for inspiring my love of dinosaurs.
This movie gets overlooked a lot, but I really think it's a good one. The score by James Newton Howard is lovely. Incidentally the Dinosaur ride in Disney World is absolutely terrifying; you're trying to outrun the meteor crash and there are carnotaurus trying to kill you and man. I went on it when I was six and came out crying, when I went on the ride again as a 23 year old it was still scary.
@@DreamspaceTM When I went in 2016 it was still there. According to the internet it was still there in fall of 2021. There was a different dinosaur themed roller coaster that was demolished awhile ago, maybe that's what you heard about?
I really love Disney's Dinosaur (2000) from the Post-Renaissance Era of Walt Disney Animation Studios. It's my favorite 2000 animated movie when I was a little kid. And to be honest, I don't think it's a boring movie, I know it's an underrated animated movie, but to me, it's a great movie. It's an awesome movie. 👍
This movie is SO good and so underrated. Like you said, the music is amazing and the animation is absolutely astounding for its time. As for the scenery, I'm pretty sure there were several scenes where the environment was a real life shot with the dinosaurs animated in it. But don't quote me on that. But like, even if that were the case? It looks fricken amazing! It can be hard to make it look like a CGI character is believably in a real life shot. I feel that there are no unlikeable characters in this movie (besides Krone) and that is so rare these days. If you think about it, there are actually a lot of characters in this movie but I don't think any of them overstayed their welcome? Zini's comedy is definitely for a younger audience but I found that they didn't shove him in your face. It was a tasteful amount so it doesn't detract from the movie. I love all the lemures honestly but I think Plio is my favorite. She's very comforting. I remember seeing this in theatres as a kid and I absolutely loved it. At the time there were hand puppets of the characters from mcdonalds, and I also had a baby dinosaur plush that, when turned inside out, became an egg. Very nostalgic to me. Really glad you enjoyed this movie because, as I'm sure you've seen commented 100 times below, it is very underrated. It's not colorful and it's more realistic looking but there is SO much powerful imagery in it. Like the scene where they're in the cave and Zini pokes a small hole in the wall and light floods in on his fur. So good for its time, and I'd argue it's still good even if it's not as top notch as a lot of films today.
I was always defend this movie, with this being my favorite Disney movie ever, and that is very much underrated and underappreciated, from the cgi, to the sound design, to the soundtrack, to even the story, which yes is the type thats been told before, but just because it has doesn't make the story any less good. And it came out over a year before i was even born
Nick, thanks so much for reacting to this film! Recently, I’ve had a lot of thoughts in regards to this film. First off, I think it was cool that both Dinosaur, and The Lion King had it’s first teaser trailer consisting of basically the first 5-10 minutes of the beginning of the film. Second, I also liked the score. Another thing is that I liked how villains like Kron, and Bruton seemed to be a little more complex than your typical Disney villain. Oh, and I liked how well developed the characters were, including the character arc that Bruton had near the end, even if he died a little earlier on. Do I think that maybe Aladar, and Neera’s relationship could have probably been developed a little more? Sure. Still, it was fairly developed for what it was. Oh, and I liked how characters like Aladar, and Plio showed love, and compassion even to the cruel characters like Bruton, which is likely why Bruton changed in the first place before he died. Honestly, I do wish that Kron had lived a little longer, even if he were to ultimately die. I would have been curious to see if he would have maybe changed after realizing that Aladar was right about the sheer drop, and/or if he would have told Aladar to take over for leadership. Overall, I would say that I would give this film a 9/10. I do wish that more people gave it a chance, and that people would not compare it to Land Before Time, even if both films are familiar at times, you know? Well, great reaction yet again!
I saw this in theaters when it came out. I was a HUGE dino fan growing up as a little girl, even as an adult still love dino movies. Dragged my sister to this movie. The first reveal of the valley at the beginning with the Pteranodon, I teared up. The music swell, mix of animation with real life backgrounds, simply stunning. Still one of my favorite child movies ever.
Initially, Paul Verhoeven and Bill Tipit were at the helm of this project, and combined stop motion and live shooting. But he was a rather unchildlike sight.
This is one of the few movies from the Disney Experimental Era that I haven’t seen yet, but from what I can tell, Dinosaur is a bit of an anomaly when it comes to Disney Animated movies. It’s considered either an underrated masterpiece or just pretty boring. Either way, I do need to get around to watching it.
I can see why some people would think it's boring, it has a pretty simple generic plot, and as much as I love this movie, the subplot with the lemurs isn't my favourite part of the film. I believe the score is what made this movie 10x better, and also the script and how characters have a personality and how they interact what made this movie better or it would have been just some documentary.
i have said this and i will always stand by it, aside from a few exceptions that came before and after, mid to late 90´s and early 2000´s disney is their golden age. tarzan, treasure planet, atlantis, fantasia, dinosaur that even thorugh its simplistic nature has great characters and atmosphere, lilo and stitch, kenai and koda, hell even pirates of the carabeean all coming from said experimental phase and all fantastic movie imho. pixar and dreamworks were on fire aswell during this period. im so glad i got to grow up during thse great times for western animation. but thankfully i sense a renaissance in the horizon, not from disney in specific but animation in general.
NO WAY!! I LOVE THIS MOVIE it shaped my entire identity as a five year old when it came out i had those plastic hand puppet things from mcdonalds and everything lol i had like 10 dinosaur books and was obsessed for at LEAST a year
I have never click so fast in my life, Dinosaur is really one of my favorites films EVER 🖤 i don't know why it didn't get so much attention by that time. I hope you enjoy it! You're the best!!!
This is my second favorite Disney movie behind Treasure Planet. Bruton is the most underrated side character in Disney in my opinion. His whole view of life throughout the entire movie is everyone fends for themselves but in the end turns a new leaf and sacrifices himself in a selfless act of righteousness to protect the others. His character arc is so phenomenal. Believing in fate no matter what he does he is destined to die from his wounds. But he changes that and dies for a greater good in the aid of the protagonist.
This movie has a score composed by the great James Newton Howard who also wrote Treasure Planet, Atlantis and Raya and the las Dragon for Disney. It's a project he loved and I believe the music reflects it perfectly. Loved your reaction to one of my favorite movies
YES!!!! LOVE THIS MOVIE!! Paul Verhoeven, director of RoboCop was going to make this movie in 1988 with Oscar Winning VFX artist Phil Tippet whom would later win Best Visual Effects for JURASSIC PARK, and they would have an entire cast of dinosaurs brought to life with Stop motion animation for Disney, but due the release of The Land Before Time, the project was shelved until 10 years later production began for the movie, filming on location in Death Valley, Hawaii, Tasmania, Australia, and New Guinea. It made $300 million dollars against a $75 million dollar budget.
Dude I don’t blame you for going on about the score of the film. The score of this movie is some of my favorite movie soundtracks of all time by the same composer: James Newton Howard. He does the soundtrack to This, Atlantis: The lost Empire, The Hunger Games series, Treaaure Planet and Raya and the last Dragon. His scores are absolutely breathtaking in my opinion and I honestly wouldn’t love these movies as much as I did if it weren’t for their absolutely amazing soundtracks! That “Matchmaking” scene score always gives me goosebumps and when the asteroid comes down… chills!
2:54 I love how the particular dinosaur the _Carnotaurus_ is hunting down is a _Pachyrhinosaurus_ , almost like they knew Universal's _Walking with Dinosaurs_ movie would be made someday, and they decided to do a "take that" to it in advance. Incidentally, the protagonist in this movie is an _Iguanodon_ , which just had a small role in the original BBC series _Walking with Dinosaurs_ .
OMGGGG someone FINALLY reacts to this gem from my childhood! The implementation of CGI and real footage still stands up, considering when it was made. This came out right in the middle of my huge dinosaur obsession, so I loved it. Soundtrack is amazing, story simple yet poignant.
This movie was literally my childhood! 😭 I was obsessed with dinosaurs and the Jurassic Park movies, so I’m glad you enjoyed this. Best Disney movie ever!
In case no one told you, Aladar and the herd are dinosaurs called "Iguanodons". They are herbivores, they eat plants. The other dinosaurs species in the herd are also herbivores. (And those little dinos who stole Aladar's egg at the beginning intended on eating him. They were mini carnivores. Its easy to tell the difference between dinosaurs if you look at their teeth. Flat teeth are plant eaters, sharp teeth eat meat. This takes place in the late Jurassic into the early Cretaceous period. And I believe this movie is highly underrated. I've always loved this movie.
With the way Kron was thrown against the wedge shaped boulder it would have cracked his ribs which in turn would puncture his vital organs such as his heart, lungs, and possibly his liver, carnivores like Carnotaurus and T-Rex didn't have arms designed for grappling or holding onto prey so what they lacked in arm size is made up for in jaw strength, and the primary weapon of T-Rex was it's bone crushing jaw packed with dozens of steak knife like teeth. And quick question my friend you ever consider watching both Angry Birds movies.
It is also possible that by grabbing his spine, the Carnotaurus broke some part of his spine. I am not familiar with dinosaur anatomy, but there could have been serious nerve or artery damage as well depending on how those body systems are designed on a dino.
@@forestcatkay14 a full grown Carnotaurus was twenty feet long that's half the size of a full grown T-Rex, a Carnotaursus jaw might have left scratches on the spine but I don't think it's bite was powerful enough to crush an Igaunadons spine, maybe small dinosaurs but big herbivores probably not
@@midnightphoenix389 ah okay. I was wondering if it would be like a tiger- their teeth are capable of penetrating deep. So most likely it was the throw against the rocks that got Kron
@@forestcatkay14 Yes the most thin part of the Iguanodon's skin was the neck as you saw Kron slash Aladar's chest its most likely he was aiming for the base of the neck or higher, and as you saw the Carnotaurus grabbed Aladar by his back as the part of the mountain crumbled underneath him, if he had punctured Aladar's spine he wouldn't have been able to hoist himself up
This movie is the one that make me fall in love with James Newton Howard’s work. His melodies have such a magic quality to then. He was the composer for the “Peter Pan” live action as well!
Another very underrated movie. The score is amazing- the meteor crash gives me chills every time. Also most of the scenery was live action locations and they put in the cgi over it. Great reaction!
I remember when this movie came out. McDonald's had hand puppet heads of the dinosaurs in happy meals. I absolutely loved my Carnotaur one.😄 I still have it at my mom's house 😁
This movie is my childhood right here! The first movie I ever watched in theatres and six year old me was so overwhelmed by this whole amazing experience! Definitely a classic masterpiece!
The score is amazing to this underrated film! And what’s interesting about the story is that it’s very kind of similar to the first land before time. When a meteorite or an earthquake takes place every dinosaurs engage into survival mode. And they tend to forget to be kind or caring because they’re so worried about protecting the ones they love or protecting themselves. And the good lesson you can take from this film is that Aladar shows us that a true leader takes care of everyone and not just themselves and not just the ones they personally favor. I remember when I was a kid,and I went to Chuck E. Cheese and I got the baby Aladar hatching from his egg as a prize. I highly recommend we are back: a dinosaur story. As well as the good dinosaur. 🦕🦖💙💚
Oh hello childhood. actually teared up at the scene where the monkeys are calling for the others at the beginning. The soundtrack for this film is so powerful
it was natural for herds to be led by the strongest male so Kron had every right to lead if he went unchallenged and knew the migrating paths. dinos died from lack of food or water and scavengers would clean up the mess. I am actually really sad about the Carno because that dino has to eat and drink as well so I am sure it had to come in an drink from time to time. Hope it found a mate. I would love a heartwarming tale from a carnivores point of view, just because they eat meat doesn't make them evil.
You might like the documentary series "Prehistoric Planet", then. It contains several segments depicting carnivore dinosaurs on their regular life, trying to find a mate, spending time with their young, etc. It's very heartwarming (but beware, there's plenty of baby dinosaur death as well...).
One of the best movies Disney ever made and it's so underated I could cry. This pretty much made the foundation for Jurassic park and all other dinosaurs movies

wich is an interesting case of parallel thinking, because theres no way the movie was inspired by wwd because by that time it was already in production for a while most likely, but both movie and series apply the same concept of mixing animated elements with real photography, and both take the subject of dinosaurs and apply an actual story to it instead of treating it as a documentary. walking with series did it in a more naturalistic way, but in each episode you still have a narrative going on.
I remember being obsessed with this came out. Even had a dinosaur egg toy and the toys that came with Happy Meals lol. So underrated now honestly. 🦕🦖
I had happy meal toy Aladar and raptor that when run water over them made skeleton visible
Kron was voiced by Samuel E. Wright, who also voiced Sebastian in The Little Mermaid series.
yep. May he rest in peace. A lot of people have passed away since 1989.

The animation may not be perfect in comparison to some newer movies but I admit the Carnotaurus in this movie are terrifying
And I appreciate that they chose a carnivore other than a T-Rex
Are you serious?! The animation on this movie is 10x better than the shit Disney produce
I thought the CGI in this movie was groundbreaking when I first saw it. I still think its great.
Something interesting about the movie is that they used real life scenarios, only the dinosaurs were animated. For a 2000 movie and being the fisrt Disney 3d animated movie (Not Pixar) it’s a pretty decent quality
not all set pieces are real photography. but yes a lot are
@@samuraibeluga3749 yeah of course not everything but it’s still pretty amazing lol
FINALLY! Someone FINALLY reacts to one of the most underrated movies!!! Good Dinosaur has NOTHING on this movie!💙😊
Aladar's name means "Hope", which is the theme for this movie.
The Movie Like Dinosaur 2000 Is Pinocchio Live Action 2022 Is Best Movie Monstro Reminds Me Carnotaurus From Dinosaur 2000
Fun Fact: The guy who voiced Aladar, D.B. Sweeney, later provided the voice for Sitka in "Brother Bear".
I was wondering why he sounded so familiar!!!
"Dinosaur" is such an underrated classic. It's nice to see it getting a movie reaction.
So is the wild
And he did Space Jam, I am legend, the 6th sense and he collaborated with maestro Zimmer for The Dark Knight.
@@jacobchandler7642 oh god Peter Pan (2003) is one of my favorites. The flying scene and the I believe in fairies score are always on my playlists
@@forestcatkay14 They are phenomenal songs attached to phenomenal sequences in the movie. Glad you gave a shout out to the Spirit soundtrack, too. "Run Free" and "Homeland" will never fail to get me PUMPED.
Loved this movie growing up it’s amazing and I’m sad it doesn’t get more credit
Me too!
I think the Carnotors were mates, so one of them lost their love, but I enjoyed the movie and the drastic moments were very drastic so they did the tones well
My childhood😍This is one of the best Disney movies ever. The amount of times I’ve re watched this. The Carnotaurus are my favorites
-Aladar is played by D.B Swneeney, who would later play as Sitka from Brother Bear
-Jennifer Lopez was gonna be considered to play as Neera
Oh!! That's where I've heard Aladar's voice before!
This movie is so underrated. That opening scene scared the life outta me when I was a kid
this was one of the first soundtracks I purchased as a young one just because the music was so good. I saw this before I fell in love with Jurassic Park i give it credit for inspiring my love of dinosaurs.
The CGI in this movie is amazing. And this came out 22 years ago. Imagine how real it would look if it was done today.
Which ride is this? I've never seen it
@@TheBlackLakeSiren It's just called "DINOSAUR" and it's in Animal Kingdom!
This is one of my favorite Disney film of all time
It's that epic, room-shaking music by James Newton-Howard that really made the movie worth watching. That music really highlighted every scene.
The dinosaur that took the egg didn't took it to raise it, they took it for food, they are egg eater
I loved this film growing up and even though it is underrated I still loved it and it got inspired to study dinosaurs
Imo definately underated masterpiece just the scenery alone incredible but there are so many moments that just draw you in!
I see where your getting from but in all honestly it's just your average movie but much better than the ones we have today
@@edward4489 i think that’s why people love it, the simplicity of the story
The scary part is that real meteor impact in real life is million times worse than the movie
I STILL hum this music 22 years later!
And you KNOW a movie is good when the trailer is just the first three minutes of the film!
NO WAY!! I LOVE THIS MOVIE
it shaped my entire identity as a five year old when it came out

This is my second favorite Disney movie behind Treasure Planet. Bruton is the most underrated side character in Disney in my opinion. His whole view of life throughout the entire movie is everyone fends for themselves but in the end turns a new leaf and sacrifices himself in a selfless act of righteousness to protect the others. His character arc is so phenomenal. Believing in fate no matter what he does he is destined to die from his wounds. But he changes that and dies for a greater good in the aid of the protagonist.
"Is he gonna raise it as his own?" XD Man you're too pure for this world
It’s been a while since I’ve watched this movie but it’s real lasting impression for me was the OST. It’s incredible.
Yes! Who else wanted this reaction for a while?
Finally! I think you're the first youtuber reacting to this gem! ❤
This movie is the origin of my dinosaur obsession 🦕 and yeah, the score is amazing!
I'm so happy you decided to react to this movie. Barely any reaction channels seem to remember/know about its existence.
The CGI holds up amaaaazing all these years later, I watched this on video tape when I was a kid 😭 this one's super nostalgic
This was my first dinosaur movie, I would never forget this film as a child.
@@forestcatkay14 Yes the most thin part of the Iguanodon's skin was the neck as you saw Kron slash Aladar's chest its most likely he was aiming for the base of the neck or higher, and as you saw the Carnotaurus grabbed Aladar by his back as the part of the mountain crumbled underneath him, if he had punctured Aladar's spine he wouldn't have been able to hoist himself up
@@midnightphoenix389 what else can you say about the slash Kron cut across Aladar’s chest?

I remember when this movie came out. McDonald's had hand puppet heads of the dinosaurs in happy meals.
I absolutely loved my Carnotaur one.😄
I still have it at my mom's house 😁
This movie is my childhood right here! The first movie I ever watched in theatres and six year old me was so overwhelmed by this whole amazing experience! Definitely a classic masterpiece!
The scene where all the herbivores stand together against the carnotaur give me chill everytime.
This is one of the underrated movies I love, thank you for reacting to this!!!
I remember this movie! I watched it a long time ago, back when no one knew that dinosaurs had feathers…
The dino that took the egg is an oviraptor meaning egg thief which is their diet
it was natural for herds to be led by the strongest male so Kron had every right to lead if he went unchallenged and knew the migrating paths. dinos died from lack of food or water and scavengers would clean up the mess.
Both of the carno are dead, you know that
One of the best movies Disney ever made and it's so underated I could cry. This pretty much made the foundation for Jurassic park and all other dinosaurs movies
No wonder you love the score so much! Not only is it absolutely fantastic, the singer is Lebo M, who wrote and sang the intro to A Circle of Life! :D
Me and my brother still compare films to this one today, we love it so much. Keep going Nick!
