Antler shed with copper - bottle opener

  • Used an old antler shed to make a simple bottle opener. The copper tubing was 1/2". I was able expand the copper tube using the annealing process and a ring stretcher.

    Great video! What is the adhesive you used to screw the opener into the antler with?

      Thank you! I just used some thick super glue. It was a tight fit to start. The glue was more to help keep it from spinning over time.

      Have you tried Potassium Permanganate on the antler? There's a lot on line about using it. I have just completed a 'Sgian Bru' for my daughter and put two or three coats on it and rubbed it down. This darkens the hollows but you clean up the top areas. I'm very very pleased on how it worked. Next in the pipeline is a couple like yours as presents. Keep it up.

      @@scottmasson3336 I have heard of potassium permanganate, but only in fire starting with glycerin. This is a cool tip I will definitely have to check out. Thank you!
