ive been following you on youtube for so many years! This is already a place that brings me many good memories, of grabing some coffe and learning from such and amazing person! Thank you so much for all the work! Cheers from Brazil!
Having played a lot of transcriptions and practised licks through the keys , all ' correct ' harmony sounds good , and it all sounds the same to my ear . I think because the voice leading is all very good and even the altered goods are all resolving according to basic tension and resolution . It is funny , now I listen for harmonic predictability and feel that harmonic correctness is initially the main aim . So the difference between good players is perhaps to be found more in phrasing and feel rather than harmonic treatment . The great thing here Nick is that this very thorough material really gives a great workout over the horn , in my case a chromatic harmonica .
For years I have indeed forgotten to say that the videos you made are excellent. It seemed natural to me that your work was great!!! Terrible mistake like playing a bV and a #V on a 9sus4 chord...(but I'm sure you can make a video explaining that it's not a mistake!). Thank you for your pedagogy. Great work! Carry on!
Wonderfully instructive as always, but my head spins a bit while trying to play along on the clarinet (Bb) when the music is written in concert key. Maybe when the weather cools off a bit, I'll have more patience to practice transcribing faster.
you already know what im shredding tomorrow in all keys
👌🏼
please let me know here which ones you like like or don´t and why! cheers
Wuuuaaaaaahhhh!!!

I liked them all because they all sound good to me.

Just found your page earlier today. Stoked! Really dig the way you lay it out. I just recommend it to one of my students.
Excellent teaching aid.
flat III dim7 sounds great. Love the idea for this episode.
without faking... I immediately felt drawn to this one! haha
Awesome video, really comprehensive and simple for such a complex topic!
Fantastic job!
I think each subsequent line is better than the previous one culminating in the best.
This is awesome!
If you don't like any of these then you don't have the Jazz ear LOL.

Beautiful! All sounds great to me. Keep up the good work. 👍 😊
Fantastic! Thanks!
I like #5 - i struggle with diminished passing chords sometimes so it's a good exercise for me

Did you Say we Should Tell you which we Like and Which we don't.
At this Point, Only the gods can Tell that.
They are ALL Superb.
"It's not about notes, it's about feeling" - Albert Ayler 🎷
YES! and the notes give feeling!
Congratulations
- Tritone. Sub 5 chord engaged.
- Copy that Roger
Great stuff, Nick, but I think there may be a typo in the text next to possibility #3 - it says V7 of ii, but shouldn't it be V7 of V?
My favorites were VI7 and II7 replacing ii7.
They're all good from a maori's point of view they all fit.
uah! 💥💥💥🎷💥💥💥🐻👍
"There are no wrong notes on the piano." /Thelonious Monk
I am not a jazz listener but both examples 7 and 8 didnt sound good to my ear in both examples of their use.
interesting!
jazz teachers hate this trick: you gotta be stoned working class minority or immigrant and desperate.
Fuck, you're a hero. Thank you. I like the sub V7; it's so bright and wild. Thank you again.
you made my day! thanks
In like # 8 best
