How do you fix it so you can make a phone call on the 8.4 Uconnect system mine is not working anymore and not sure if it can be fixed or if it needs to be replaced?
My issue is that after a little while of operation the Uconnect system will just go crazy. A couple of days ago it was switching from one song to another and switching between options and this morning it was fixated on resetting the clock and I couldn't access any controls. I mean, it was literally like an insane child, it was fixated on that one thing and wouldn't do anything else. Do you have a fix for that?
I have a uconnect 5 in my 22 Laramie 3500, Satt radio was not working properly from new, I held the volume button in for 10 sec, and it did a hard reset, now it works like a charm.

Hey. Been having problems with the Uconnect 8.4 system in my 2014 Grand Cherokee. Talked to my local dealer in California and confirmed the radio unit is dying, and I'm trying to limp it along to get a replacement or just trade the vehicle in. In any respect, the radio is stuck in what seems to be an incomplete update cycle. It gives me an old school looking screen that says "install USB drive" and whether or not I insert one, it then switches to a black screen with an hourglass and a message that says "wait 2-5 minutes". Then after about 2 minutes it flashes back to the "install USB drive" screen. I've tried both the soft reset (push Mute and Tune buttons for 10-20 sec) and the hard reset (push the driver's side temp up and down buttons) but nothing breaks it out of the cycle. If I park the vehicle, exit and lock it, the radio display continues to go thru the cycle until the battery shutdown happens. But when I come back to the vehicle and unlock it, the radio goes right back to the insert USB/please wait 2-5 minutes cycle. I am the second owner on the vr. and I don't have the nip to control tah option. Chrysler said I have to contact the dealer to ahve a new pin for that key. You will have to go to your local dealership to have that done. They will have to add the option and only a dealership has access to do that. (As far as I know)

Anybody help me????? My 2018 8.4 u connect radio when paired in bluetooth mode will go absolutely ape shit it will switch screens like a fuckn strobe light! It will turn on the heat seat functions. The only way I can get it to stop is if I completely unpair from the radio and let the truck set overnight off. POS

I have that same issue with my 2017 Challenger, it's like a ghost is randomly touching my screen. It's so annoying that I usually turn the radio off.

What if the radio is randomly pushing buttons on its own? It wont stay on one screen long enough to follow your instructions.

Mine does the same. It goes from radio to clock reset yes or no. Then back again nothing stops it. I’m thinking of resetting.
