- Now all sorted and back out in the daylight to await collection by its owner, I thought I would discuss a few possible points about this and other 'Asbo' tuned machines.
...Your not bad at getting tech stuff across Paul👍
Spot on
Very nice sir. Thank you.
i would hazzard a guess paul..the tuned state of A43 makes it tractable
enough with a fair bit of tolerance under most conditions so a good
balanced middleweight performer, from years of experience you`ll know
as well as anyone, you can only be in one gear at a time !
😇😊👍 proper enjoyed the asbo 43vids cheers .
Just for riding. Absolutely spot-on.
Nice old bike...
Looks well loved mine is for riding many thanks rod
😢 I want my old bike back, this one reminds me of what I have given up. 😭
Hi Paul
Love your videos I'm a big fan
Just wondered if you could help with my ariel enfield bitsa Is quite revvy at 55mph because i have inherited the gearing it was built with it has a 15T front sprocket but a 47T ariel rear! What would be a good choice of larger front sprocket ( that would fit) to bring the rpm down to a usable level its only a 1951 reditch 350 motor
Hi, I think I would be looking for around 17 or 18 teeth, that should do it.
@@paulhenshaw4514 thanks Paul
Asbo 43 looks to have excellent performance, if this tune was applied to say a 5 speed gearbox how might you go about the gearing then ?
Realistically, Asbo 43 is about as high geared as I would go with it, on 18t on the gearbox. However, with 5 speeds, it might be possible to go slightly higher and use top as a sort of overdrive, or cruising gear. In favourable conditions, 43 might crack the 'Ton' as it is.
I fitted a five speed box to my tuned 350. I left the 18t drive sprocket on it and fitted a 42t to the rear hub, so the gearing is close to 350 standard. I think it would pull a slightly higher front sprocket as it will easily keep up with motorway traffic now, but I prefer the good mid range performance because it’s used around the back roads rather than motorways.
How is MPG affected by altering the cam timing?
I don't see it having an adverse effect, as apart from at very low engine speeds efficiency and performance seem to improve.
@@paulhenshaw4514 Oddly enough I thought the 535 was better below 3000, it just lost the hit at that but revved out further
