Nicely done! I made the decision to pick up the mandolin about 2 years ago and am loving it. But I tried to learn this one and it defeated me utterly. Maybe after another few years of practice.
Amazing job dude!! That’s so cool! I’ve been trying to pick this one out. I’ve been playing for about 4 weeks and it’s the most fun instrument ever. Knowing how hard this is all props you you man on this.
I've learned this tune a couple of times from Chris' DVD so I'm aware of the effort. I personally wouldn't bother with the break as I think it would finish me off. Fair play to you Jarred.
Yes I found the PDF for that DVD booklet in my old email too! I'm sure it was when I originally bought it that I endeavoured to write out the rest of it. It was definitely done as a personal challenge only, not really for learning licks or anything. Also I doubt any future band with whom I might potentially play would feel like putting in the work to do a Nickel Creek Cover like this. But then again, you never know when things come in handy down the road!
Tremendous! I gave up at part C if I recall correctly😆. Wonderful videos as always. May I ask what your recording setup is as far as microphones, preamps, etc?
If we're talking about the same part, C (the bridge) isn't so bad if you stay in 1st position, I found it was consistently hitting those shifts in the B part quite hard! Well, until the solo anyway. For most of my videos it's Ear Trumpet Labs Edwina --> UA Apollo Twin --> Logic with whatever plugins I felt improved the tone! Usually light compression, EQ, and a tube preamp.
@@JarredAlbright it’s been some time since I tried that number, so in hindsight I had no business casually throwing out parts 😆.. whatever the part you were playing at 1:51. No way I could do that then or now. It’s tremendous, and really clean. Thank you for explaining your setup, I’ve secured a D-28 and now need to figure out how to capture the full sound and not just the low end 😆. Thank you sir!
Feckin' Brilliant without any qualifications. Just pure talent.
That's a really tough tune! You nailed it!
Terrific, Jarred. Love your playing.
Nice job. I really like the tone of the mandolin
Tone, timing, Note choices, everything man. You are such a great picker, love your style!
Thank you kindly! I appreciate it very much. This tune was a LOT of work haha
Badass!!!!
You are awesome man! Loved this. Gets me motivated to pick up my guitar and try playing again.
So good

You rock bro!
I love this song. Amazing job!
Fantastic playing, you sound great
Good job! Fantastic work. I'm looking at getting a mandolin maybe soon.
I can't argue with that life decision!!!
