Keep in mind, the Five stars are based on my needs for this item th-cam.com/users/postUgkxUHHotQRjIQnfuxEeVotlkHVYWH0DXZoS When I first bought the bike I was going to return it immediately. After trying it out for several days/weeks I came to realize it is actually perfect for WHY I bought it.This is not a workout, the resistance is, eh, it makes a bit of noise, not loud, and it isn’t very stable even with the mat. The mat certainly keeps the bike from sliding but nothing keeps the mat from sliding (if that makes any sense, lol). Mine is place on my hard wood floor. Maybe it would be better with a rug underneath??I sit for long hours for work and wanted something to keep my legs moving. This bike does exactly that! For the price it is amazing, it is compact, easy to use, light weight, keeps track of time, calories etc (not sure how accurate it is) but good little product. I am happy with it.

I bought a G6 in July for space very specific space reasons and love it. You can do everything and it is a 2:1 pulley. Since the 2:1 halfs the 220 stack I did have to get a stack pin from Bare Steel to add more weight for lats and rows but would still rather have that 2:1 as the range you get on the cable is insane.

    • @Hail_Chris.27
      @Hail_Chris.27 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

The 2024 G20 V2 with the lat extension is absolutely perfect with the 2:1 in front cables and 1:1 in the lat.
      But it's freaking expensive.
If you have the space for it (and can afford it) an ATX or Powertec lat machine 1:1 with weight stacks is the perfect addition for you.
I'm seriously considering the G3 V2 plate loaded and the powertec lat machine with the weight stack, as those 2 together are still cheaper than the G6 and can have a lot of cable range with the 2:1, and a lot of weight for row and lat with the powertec lat machine.

I use a Pivot Fitness FSM-200 which is basically the same but completely plate loaded. They also have a FSM-400 that comes with weight stacks. The cost of the FSM-200 is a third of a Force USA G20 and the cost of the FSM-400 is half of the G20.

I bought this thing along with the low row lat pull down attachment. I bought it because of space limitations but had I know then about Ares coming out I definitely would have held out and waited for Ares. For starters it doesn't take 35 hours to put together. Sorry Sam. I put it together by myself over the course of a weekend, about 8 maybe 9 hours per day, however having a friend to help would have made it a lot easier. I don't think it would have saved much time but it definitely would have been easier. The rack arrived first then about a month later the attachment arrived. That took about 6 hours or so to put together only because I had to disable parts of the main rack.
Overall the rack itself is adequate but I don't think it's worth the price. With the LR/LP attachment I paid 7K. The hardware comes shrink wrapped against a piece of cardboard with a cheap wrench. Reminds me of hardware that comes with some build at home furniture. Maybe I'm biased and spoiled being that I was expecting similar hardware to what came with my Rogue Monster LITE rack 5/8 inch hardware. I can't imagine comparing it to the Monster 1 inch hardware.
The directions are ok but the illustrations are awful. You will spend a lot of time trying to figure out what hole to insert the hardware in. It comes with a bunch of accessory handles but they are just cheap quality, lite weight powder coated crap. To help shed some perspective, the 2 globe pull up bar attachments as well as the multi grip attachment that comes with, all 3 together weigh less that my Rogue Globe ML attachment. The jay cups, mono-lifts and spotter arms are beyond disappointing.
I think the only place where Force didn't cheap out is with the weight stacks but as Coop said, the cables and pulleys are "aaah".
Another thing to be mindful of is the freight company Force used to deliver it to me. I live in Long Island NY. I don't know if it was the same for anyone else but the freight company sent 1 person to make the delivery. I had to help the driver off-load 4 insanely heavy boxes. Again for 7K you'd think Force would make sure the freight company they contract would send enough man-power to handle unloading the boxes from their truck.
As I already mentioned overall it's adequate, I give a C+/B- but for 7K my expectation was A++++++. Knowing then what I know now especially that the Rep Ares is available now, I would not have bought this. Actually, I'm trying to sell it so I can get the Ares.
In the end, I feel Force cheaped out to increase their profit margins.

Great review, I’d love to see a similar review of the Force USA G12 (as I have one). I’d agree that the quality isn’t amazing, but it’s adequate for home gym use. I don’t think it would last commercial use, but if you’re tight on space it literally does most things you could want in a home gym.

I was hoping for this review a year ago but glad to see it finally happened. I bought the G20 about 6 months ago and love it. One thing that I've disliked is the leg press attachment can get dangerous quick since there are no safety mechanisms to keep it from turning completely horizontal and turning into a guillotine if it slips.
Also, not sure how you put a full work week into building this. Out of all of my gym equipment, this probably did take the most time to build, but from start to finish only took 6 hours for me alone. The instructions weren't the best and they would definitely benefit from a 3d build on an app or something like furniture, but it was still easy enough to follow along once you get a groove.

I paid a little over $5000 for a PR 5000 six post rack and Ares with 310 lb stacks. I think it is a much better product than the G20. If anyone buys Ares, I highly recommend the additional 100 pound upgrade kit. It will be a pain to add it later as you have to uninstall the weight stack to add it since it sits under the original weight stack in place of spacers.

about time! I sold my truck before we military PCS to Germany. So I bought this and brought it over. Unfortunately I couldn't put it in the basement of our German home, so our living room is our Gym. That being said. I love it. I do agree the cable pull length sucks, and the price is whatever you consider the value of everything. I think its worth it. I got the free olympic bar and I paid for the lat pull down machine. The spacing for the plates on back were not meant for bumper plates, so I have bumper plates on every other peg, that's kind of annoying. However, love this thing. Took me about 10 hours by myself to build.

  • @ted6580

The 1:1 cable ratio would be a dealbreaker for me and should be for most people. Back in my mainstream gym days, I had no idea about cable ratios but I knew the lat pulldown machines were extremely irritating to use for cable work when the dual cable cross machine was in use. Even when I halved the weight, the movement just wasn’t smooth, usually at the beginning of the lift. It wasn’t that the cables were bad or anything, it was just the feel of the machine was off, it wasn’t a constant tension. I realize now it’s the ratio that was the problem. I can’t imagine doing lateral shoulder raises or other light work with the ratio.

Zero desire for 2:1 pulley ratio on my G20 weight stacks. Love the 1:1 ratio and not having to add weight to the stack just to use 180lbs. And it’s easy enough to add chain after the handle if more length is needed.

Dumb question - why does the weight ratio affect how far the cables travel?

    • @joecowan3719
      @joecowan3719 2 ปีที่แล้ว

It is called a mechanical advantage, with a 2 to 1 ratio the cables are routed through a series of pulleys that allow the cable to move 2 feet for every 1 foot the load moves up the stack. it allows you to have a fast moving cable for explosive movements compared to a 1 to 1 cable like a lat pull-down that only uses two pulleys and no slack in the line. Hope that makes sense...

Um....35 hours build time???? Sam, I did it BY MYSELF in about 15 hours. Later on I got the lat pull-down attachment and that took about 4 hours. Hey Coop, let me know if you need another assemblyman.....

Moving to a 1 to 1 functional trainer makes sense, especially since the weight stacks are 300. But I got to wonder, why don't companies try to do both? I.e. 1:1 and 2:1 - cause I have seen 2:1 convertible to 4:1 (however I think to most people 4:1 is not nearly as useful as 1:1).

Prime offers a 1:1 top pulley with a 2:1 ratio on the moving pulleys. The only thing I wish prime included was a 1:1 bottom pulley for low rows.

Hi Coop and others... I got the G12 for about 2 years and one thing I noticed over time is that if you use just the starting weight on the cables for lets say lateral raises or reverse flies or something then it really sucks... It's stopping continuously and almost jumping around while pulling the cable.
Has anyone an advice how to fix this? I even started to use bands recently for the mentioned movements just to avoid that annoying thing and I never experienced something similar when I used other functional trainers. Otherwise... Nice to see the improvement on the J-cups. Mine (no rollers) have big ugly bolt at the front where i always crash my bars against and damage them... But overall a great machine and surprisingly much cheaper if you buy it in europe for some reason...

Great again Coop--would like you to get and review the Lat Low Row attachment--also could you use a pin to add small adjustments of weights to the cable stack or does that molding around the stack interfere? Thanks!

    Hi!
How does this (G20 Pro v.2) compare to the Tytax T1-X? They seem to be very similar all in one racks. Cost is basically the same.
Before I spend €9k I'd like to be 100% sure on how how I'm spending my money.
    Tytax T1-X
    or
    Force USA G20 Pro v.2
    Cheers 🍻
