    I have One CB 500x like your. Dame Crash bars, Dame color... With alluminium top case, no side cases. I love that bike.

  •  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    My used 2014 cb500x came ready for silliness with crashbars, skiplate and footpegs from sw-motech. It also came with some dings and scratches so I don't have to worry. I've added barkbusters, usb-charger and ram x phone mount. Oh, and pirelli scorpion str tyres for the slightly stoopider shit. Brilliant bike, good video.

    Hi, i like the set up of your bike. Since I have the same bike [in bright white, ;)] I do have a question about the tankbag. What about the influence of the magnetic strips of the tank bag on mobile phone and your back cards? I would like to ask: Is it possible and safe to put your wallet with these cards and your phone in the tankbag without damaging them by the cause of magnetic influence?

    • @thebrightrider
      @thebrightrider  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had concerns about that aswell, but I've had no issues... I think there is a thick layer between the magnets and the content of the bag to keep it from damaging your elektronics

    Another great one :-) Love the way you put in the b-roll :-) Just one thing, the TomTom gps are useless offroad and on the trails around in the different countries :-) The other thing, the QuadLock on the bike will destroy the stabilator in the camera on the iphone, guess how i know :-P Do you have any idea of how much the bike weighs with all the extra equipment? Cheers

    • @thebrightrider
      @thebrightrider  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thomas Hansen I agree, TomTom is not made for that, that’s why I bought Quad Lock to use my phone for that. Does the x-grip do a better job? Seen plenty of examples that the phone smashed because it wasn’t secure... what do you use? :) As for the weight; no idea ;p I’m guessing the racks and panniers would be something like 10kg total, I could be very wrong though...

    • @tshansen
      @tshansen 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thebrightrider The quadlock will secure the phone to the bike in a good way, the only problem is there is nothing to stop the vibration from the bike... when you rev the bike up to 6-8000rpm there is alot of really small vibrations that goes into the phone and destroy it. My iphone 6 died that way. I got myself a GPS, and only use my phone when needed but i put it away in my tankbag or in my pocket. if you buy a cheap phone only for this purpose it is a different story :-) But i would not recommend to use your daily phone to navigate :-)

    Hello Thomas. For the hot grips system, it have 3 levels,
    1) when it blinks 3 times it's the first "level" for the heat
    2) when it blinks 2 times it's the second "level" and it is a little bit more hot than the 1st "level"
    3) when it blinks 1 time it's third "level" and that is the hottest level

    Good job for the video though, and I can't wait for a proper highway test.
    I cannot make up my mind between the cb500x in black and the Vstrom 650 XT ... What concerns me is the lack of engine performance for highway transfers (even if I avoid them as much as I can).

    Hi, I'm considering the Givi tank bag and would value your comments on the following questions.
    1) I am very fussy on protecting my tank paint finish so was wondering if the underneath of the tank bag is made from a soft material that might help if some grit gets trapped between the tank and the bag.
    2) How strong are the magnets does the bag move when riding with weight inside the bag.
    Thanks for the very useful video.

    • @thebrightrider
      @thebrightrider  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thanks for the questions
      1) My dad has used magnet tank bags for over 10 years (me 4 years) and we have never had a scratch on any bike, so I think it's safe to say you don't need to worry about damaging your tank :)
      2) Depends on the riding that you're going to do. If you're going to ride normal style on any paved road, it's not going to move (even if you're packing a couple days food supply in there ) if you're not sure, you can even strap it around your bars. But if you're going to do some hardcore offroading, it would be better to strap it on your back for that ride. Either way, you're always going to be able to bring it along :)
      Cheers!

    English is a slippery, ever-changing language with lots of regional terms,
    but you're safe with referring to a *"12 volt outlet"* and a *"USB port"* .
    "Outlet" is usually for simple things like a _power source_ stationary female connector,
    and "port" is usually for a _digital_ stationary female connector. Stationary female connectors
    have historically been called "jacks", as in "telephone jack" or "headphone jack",
    but the word seems to be slowly going out of fashion for modern electronics.

    Have you felt more vibrations at 5000rpm since you installed the defense bars?? Thank you bro!

    • @thebrightrider
      @thebrightrider  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dario Peña No change in vibration :) The panniers’ weight is something that you can feel, but you just have to adjust your preload setting for that :)

      The Bright Rider Many people say that the givi bars makes you feel a little more vibrations at that rpm, I don’t know if that is just in the previous model of cb500x. Do you remember or do you know the NM (force, i mean, don’t know the word in english xD) that you applied on each bolts?

    • @thebrightrider
      @thebrightrider  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dario230589 No I just bolted them until they felt secure... And I don't really feel much vibrations

    Do not install the top box. It makes the bike top heavy. It's perfect the way it is right now. That space can be used to maybe hookup a tent or small bag if needed. Top case really messes up the aerodynamics of the bike.

      Sharad Talekar Yeah my thoughts exactly, only reason that I would buy it, is so my passenger would have something behind her back, bcs she’s a bit scared like this...

      Most of them, I use the gopro for some b-role stuff because it has good stabilization.

    Do you know if it's possible to fit the bike with the trekker outback 37L side cases and 42L topcase simultaneously? It does look like there is not much room left while using the Givi Monokey M8B plate.

    • @thebrightrider
      @thebrightrider  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeroen Jurgens I think you can fit it, but you’d better ask a Givi dealer to be sure
