“No one has ever complained about 3 extra inches” I laughed out loud. I wanted to hear more sound comparison. You showed how the Sebo sounds without the brushroll on and then you showed how the Miele brushroll sounds.
My new Sebo E3 has a power head switch on the hose handle in addition to the suction control. The L shaped head on the Sebo makes it able to angle into tight spaces, like between furniture legs. I also like that the canister can be put into standby with the suction control on the hose handle.
Man, they really fixed quite a few things on my new E3 premium. The woman selling me the Sebo really sold me on the power head, it’s just….beast mode. Plus parts are cheaper. Just wish the swivel induced turn in the head. The lack of angle in the connection makes your wrist input kind of meaningless. Otherwise it is so clearly a commercial product compared to the Miele, and is sooo low profile, can get under almost anything. I was lying down giddily cleaning all the way under the bed.
How are you liking it? Any complaints? I'm in the market for the E3 and C3 but after trying them both in store, the E3s tapered hose felt more unwieldy and heavy especially when parking it.
Helpful comparison as usual! I have both of these (E3 .vs. C3 UNI-Q). IMHO The Miele does a better job filtering fine dust (Sebo's bags can leak) , is more stable (Sebo can tip over if you pull it fast around corners), and has more sophiicated handle controls (but only in the top end version). However, the Sebo is quieter, doesn't blow air around quite as much, more compact, is easier to unlock the power brush from vertical position. Miele 238 powerhead can leave a small unswept row due to its underside belt placement, Sebo ET - 1 doesn't and is far easier to service.
Wow, what a helpful video, especially since you're not being compensated by the manufacturers for your opinions so we can actually get objective advice. Thanks very much!
Have a commercial cleaning business, we run the mieles' and they get used LOTS, and HARD, to be honest, in the long run, the extra power and suction makes a huge difference with the ability to clean the job in a timely manner and to a good standard. Not a single issue with either of our C1 or C3 and they do do 20 to 30 hours a week. They get sent in for service once every 3 months, and they're kept up to date. Only issue we ever had, was a user flaw, of not replacing the bag inner housing filter, and not installing the bag right, and it sucked dirt through the motor. Worked fine for a further 6 weeks until the new motor arrived. They are solid as fk little machines.
I am glad you mentioned the extra power/suction... I was a little perplexed by the statement in the video that the differences were not big since 34% GREATER working vacuum and 31% GREATER sealed for the Miele over the Sebo absolutely is huge/significant (esp. if one has a thick carpet)! Additionally, the Miele brush is a chevron pattern, with denser bristles, that aggressively drives the debris toward the central opening of the suction path in the power-head. I *HUGELY* prefer how Sebo units are so incredibly easy to service and maintain. They *destroy* Miele on this point. However, I also believe that when it comes to deep cleaning, Miele are *easily* the superior product. Further, I believe that due to the superior Miele bag design, that difference is likely to only increases as the bag fills, though I admit I have not tested them side by side. Both are of very similar quality. It does seem to be dodging anger of respective fans to not outright say how much better the Sebo is for insanely easy maintenance/long term personal care and truly, how much better the Miele is for deep cleaning. There are very few professional/industry tests I have knowledge of in either Germany or the U.S. that place any of the Sebo products at the top for outright cleaning performance - NOT that they are less than great, they just are not typically tested as "the best" in this regard. And yes, I have owned multiple Sebos (actually more Sebos than Miele).
@AB G I'm in Australia, so these machines get treated hard. If you're a general household user, and have the time for servicing them yourself, I can't see any issue with the SEBO, but for the money you pay, and the end results, I'll go Miele. I'll leave the servicing to people who have the time, and as its an incurred business expense, I can write it off 😂. We've got multiple commercial backpack vacuums as well, that just don't match the Miele for outright power and efficiency. The other thing we found with the Miele is that it works extremely well with aftermarket bristle heads that have thick and fine bristles, as we have to run different heads, for different carpet types. We did have wertheim machines, with the power heads that vibrate, but I'll never buy another one again. They just fall apart and overly expensive. I can buy 2 c3's for the price of 1 wertheim.
I love Miele but the removable brush roller sold me on Sebo. I take that thing out ALL the time. Clean it, sanitize it and pop it back in fresh as a Daisy. 🌼
@@upy0ur5 I was going to get a C1 pure suction, but I have wall to wall carpet in my living room, so I bought the C1 Cat And Dog because it had the electro plus cleaning head.
Thank you for the informative video! I've had a Sebo for almost 20 years and it still works. Now I am looking for a light weight canister to keep upstairs. Also, now that I am divorced and retired, price is more of a factor.
I used to have a Miele Uniq, but gave it to my dad. I'm using a Sebo E3 Premium in white. The power head on the Sebo is much easier to glide across carpet than the Miele's power head. The only thing I don't like about the Sebo power head is that it doesn't make those nice "carpet lines" when vacuuming carpet.
My $.02, for most of the us market where wall to wall carpet seems to be more the norm than in Europe apparently, you really need to have a powered brush head, which you don’t get in the Miele until the higher end models, while the sebo models come with the et1 on nearly all models. The warranty on the sebos are also better, if you even end up needing to use it. The Mieles are definitely prettier but the sebo is just plain functional. I think you really get more for your money with sebo especially if you need more than just a bare floor vacuum.
What a great video. I own an older Miele and I’m thinking about making the switch to Sebo. This video was chock full of info which will help me Thanks again
I have owned both plus currently own a d4, I got the e3 when it came out and was great but a few areas felt a little cheap when compared to the Miele i got afterwards. I sold the miele to get a felix but then sold that to get the d4 which was quite rare, the d4 surpasses both in my opinion but it is more expensive
@@PerformanceReviews i know right ! The miele was a lucky find on ebay that i had to have ! In the uk the miele machines with power heads are very rare.
Might want to mention the optional ET-1 high airflow front bumper as it minimizes plush carpet bogdown. Wrt overheating, Sebo confirmed the E3's power button light will turn red when its canister motor overheats.
So which one is the quietest of the 2? That’s important to me. Is the C3 made in China? I read a while ago the Miele’s over $500 are made in Germany….anyone know for sure? As you can tell I don’t buy anything from China.
I wish you would have spoken more about the sound/noise output comparison with their listed sound ratings. I have sensory issues and can not tolerate loud noises. When I first purchased my Miele, one of the deciding factors at that time was that they were rated the QUIETEST on the market. Using that low-noise button they have makes it even quieter. I'm able to vacuum now without being medicated (yeah, sensory issues are no joke). A life changer. It's an important feature, people do care about the noise level enough to make it worth a few more seconds in the review. (for other reasons like babies, living in apt etc.)
How fors the Sebo E1 compare? Someone is offering. Miele C3 for the same price. Trying to make the best decision. I have mainly hard floors and cats. Kitty litter and pet hair as nain concern same with air filtration
Got an older model 700W E3 in UK last week. Absolutely love it. Moves on my carpet much better than Felix ever did. Sadly it has minor niggles. Hose is quite stiff and as I can see, Miele has a much better hose set up. I love Sebo's tool storage much better though even though it doesn't come with dusting brush. Cannister is also smaller and lighter than Miele C3.
I have a Felix that I’ve had for close to 15 years. Still runs perfect, but I have all hardwood now and I hate that it won’t stand with the floor attachment as opposed to locking upright with the power head. I have to lean it against the wall in the closet. My daughter has a Miele and since staying with her I have been using it and I’m really liking the canister. Now I have to decide which brand to go with. 😂
I own a Sebo E3 Premium ... it's a really good machine. I was direct comparing it to the Miele C3 ... so I agree with the author, they're both really good choices.
Which vacuum has the better built motor and which vacuum is the quietest at its highest power? For me, the Miele is the better looking vacuum of the two.
Thanks for the comprehensive review. Super interested in the Sebos but as someone diagnosed with bad dust mite allergies I gotta go with the Miele HEPA guarantees
Hi just wanted to tell you my Meile c2 power line. Just went to vacuum heaven after 16 yers of daily use NEVER had a problem. I have a one bed apartment and used it half hour. every day. Make sure to only use genuine bags and change the filter as required I just bout a c3 as well. Happy cleaning 😊😊😊
Recently checked out the E3 Sebo, compared to C3 Miele, came down to price. AU$1600 Sebo and AU600 for the Miele. My current old vacuum is still working very well, found the small battery holder in the handle was broken. So no speed variations, new part would have cost almost half the new model. Old one is 15yrs, so could be useful for a workshop cleaner.. Only bought the C3 a couple of days ago, still unboxed. Mostly carpeted house plus stairs.. Great video, thankyou! 👍🇦🇺
The prices for Miele also went down in Europe. I wanted to buy one as our Dyson is slowing dying and I noticed that the Sebos are almost twice the price of the Miele. However, the Sebo would come with the powerhead, while the Miele would have the suction-powered brush. I wanted to buy the powerhead, but a Miele rep told me that the current version of Cat & Dog no longer has the ports on the body of the vacuum to provide power to the powerhead. This would explain the price difference.
I tried out the Miele C3 Marin canister vacuum and I liked it except the stupid telescoping wand that wouldn't hold position whenever I vacuumed carpets. It would always slide back down constantly. I ended up returning it.
This is an awesome comparison and I really was on the fence between these two vacuums as we have two dogs and a cat and we sometimes vacuum daily, especially when they're shedding. However, I've discovered that Miele has made some changes to its product line-up, at least in Europe: Miele offers the Complete C3 Cat & Dog for around 400 Euros, but it has only the turbobrush accessory (the vacuum's suction is used to spin the brush) and there is no available powerbrush accessory. Not only that, but the European version of the Complete C3 Cat & Dog no longer accepts vacuum tubes with connection pins (there's a piece of gray plastic where the pins were before), so you even if you get the powerhead as a separate accessory, you can't power it. The Miele rep I have talked to said it's not a supply issue, it's what the headquarters decided to make available in each specific market. He said it might be related to the low number of sales of the Complete C3 Electro, which did include the powerhead.
@@PerformanceReviews I completely understand, but a lot of people (myself included) might assume that the differences between the two markets are mainly around the vacuum motor (due to the EU regulations in effect since 2017) and maybe around the naming and packages available. It often makes sense to watch reviews for products sold in the US market and then "translate" them to the products available in EU because there's a good chance you find an actual review like this one, not a home-made infomercial. Miele corded and bagged vacuums with a powerbrush were definitely available in the EU a year or so ago, but now they seem to have silently disappeared and Miele is pushing hard their handheld bagless vacuums instead, which I think it's unfortunate.
@@PerformanceReviews also, thank you for the detailed review. I was in the market for a decent vacuum since my Dyson kind of broke down and the Sebo E3 in the US is very similar to the one in the EU (probably a bit less powerful), but otherwise it seems like Sebo keeps it simple by providing the same powerhead, same accessories and so on.
Nice review. Simple and effective. I somehow collect vacuums and have repaired dozens that people have thrown out (sometimes 'cause the bag is full). One thing I have noticed is every unit no matter who makes it, always has the same motor, or they were so close as to be indistinguishable. Also can't count how many power heads had poor belt drives. I was given a Miele and have yet to take the cover off, but was curious if you have the same impression (motor wise). So far it works well but has no powerhead which is a real drawback.
Meant to add that it looked like the Miele brush head was horsehair while the Sebo was polypro. All good brushes used to be horsehair. They are much better on soft surfaces while the plastic brush will scratch. Try it on your plexi car dashboard and see for yourself.
I’m stuck between these two and wondered if you could give some guidance from you repairing so many of these. I think I prefer the Miele- but the fact that is has a good bit shorter warranty time (even with the HomeCare based on what I read) makes me nervous. Do you think the better warranty length of Sebo should sway my decision or is the reliability of these two when it comes to post warranty fixes not as big of a deal as I’m making it out to be?
@@michaelbonifacio352 I noticed the difference in the warranty too, to me a company only warrants a product for how long they think it will last. If Miele makes such a great product then why is it only a 1 year warranty on parts while Sebo offers 7 parts and labour?
To clarify, Sebo is 5 years plus 5 if you register. I like when you register then send you a confirmation and also a note "we will never contact you again".
I had a Miele s380 which was about 10 years old before it stopped working, so I wouldn't be too worried about how it will last, however I'd be more inclined to go for an older model with mechanical controls rather than electronic touch .
😮 Excellent comparison! But I saw this too late…I bought a Miele C1 Classic Dog & Cat and wish I’d purchased Sebo Airbelt K3, even though Sebo would have been more expensive. Why? Sebo has far superior Warranty (5, maybe 7 yrs on Miele; 10 on Sebo); Sebo has the wraparound padding on the canister and the ET-1 Power Head for furniture and baseboard scuffing. Also, i learned late in the game the Miele electric cord length is only 19’ whereas the Sebo is 26’ (more convenient). Thank you.
It would be good to mention that these products are different to the offering in the UK. I was about to buy the miele c3 but the base model is not anywhere near what the c3 offering in the US is.
Nice review. For people w/ autoimmune issues the Miele should stand out. That hepa exhaust filter is a big deal for mold/actino sensitive people. I'm curious of the carpet cleaning ability of their electric heads like the SEB236 and their air operated carpet heads like the TurboTeQ. Is there that much difference for say, low pile carpets? I had a Kirby back in the day and it did a great job cleaning due to the powerful agitation of the carpet and suction power.
When I'm in a situation where I like both different designs I say when in doubt of which one buy the gold standard of each one. That way no buyers remorse and use one for a designated chore like vacuuming your vehicle or such as
Own both, however sad to hear that Miele is now using Chinese sourced parts and warranty is now three years, where as Sebo is 100% German with a ten year warranty on motor. This is a game changer.
Thank you for watching! The reason for Miele making stuff in China is a political move to be able to sell things in the Chinese market. The quality still fantastic. Most of the machines that are marked "made in China" have at least 50% German parts in them. It's a very strange subject and you've inspired me to make a video in the future on the subject.
Does Sebo do a good job filtering bad odors? Im only asking since I have an activated carbon filter for my Miele C1 Classic and never heard of an activated carbon filter for Sebo.
Is it normal for the air coming out of the Miele c3 to be pretty warm? I've found I have to vacuum during the mornings because its just so damn hot, its like a heater the exhaust coming out.. is it normal or is there something wrong with my C3? Its very quiet... but very warm/hot air.
Thank you for the review, extremely useful! Like some of the comments mentioned in the video I'm also quite perplexed when you said the suction of the two vacuums are quite similar while showing Sebo at 41" and Miele at 55". Can you explain why is that similar? Maybe that 34% more suction doesn't matter in most of the day to day use cases?
Both of those numbers are almost double what most vacuums get. Suction power is probably the last metric you need to consider when buying a vacuum. Maneuverability and easy use should be the first concern. Go to your local store and try them
I went to my local dealer thinking I'd get a Miele C1 Turbo, ended up leaving with a pre-owned Sebo E3 for a few hundred more dollars (but still $300 cheaper than a new one). It looks a little dinged up on the outside, but the internals are the same! I'll be trying to clean it this weekend to see if I can get it looking nicer.
Having had both, the Sebo has noticeably better quality than the Miele - not that the Miele was bad. The Sebo just felt a bit better. But the floor power head on the Sebo bogged down in heavy shag carpeting and the Miele didn't - again, not a deal breaker unless your entire house has shag carpet. Sebo's hand-held power brush was power and Miele's was turbo. Sebo's powered brush is my preference. And the Sebo tools are normal-sized and high quality whereas Miele's felt under-sized.
Really depends on the carpet. The body of the SEBO is slick underneath so it glides easier on carpet. The nozzle of the Miele has an extra height adjustment and larger Wheels allowing the nozzle part to move a little easier than the SEBO on hi pile carpet.
Really torn on which to get and I've been comparing for months. I'm looking at them specifically to handle pet hair, and that's unfortunately not something testing at a shop will help with, haha. Right now, I'm leaning towards a Miele because I can get a kona used like new and the differences between the cat/dog and the kona seem minimal.
How do you think these vacuums compare to the ZeroG, which is working its way up to being at a similar price point as these? With the frequent sale prices on Sebo and Miele, they're even more comparably priced. I'm especially curious about how the power heads compare. I really like the idea of a power carpet head, but it doesn't seem to be something that's offered on many vacuums.
Parker - wow. Being a lifelong user of upright vacuums, I just can't imagine trying to clean one's carpets without a powered rotating brush. Your comment that powered heads are "rare" is suprising, but perhaps that's why canister vacs are not considered very good for carpet.
Currently looking into the sebo's/miele's for a new vacuum. Even though you said that the difference in working/sealed vacuum is negligible, in another of your video, you said that the bare minimum for a turbo head would be 45'' working vacuum. Isnt the sebo performance a little underwhelming overall? Thank for your fantastic videos !
That's a wild misquote. The bare minimum to run a turbo cat is 45" other turbos run at much lower numbers really anything over 30 in a portable vacuum is good. The performance of SEBO should speak for itself without the numbers.
I never heard about this Miele vacuum before. Today my neighbor put it for sale in front of his yard. After negotiating, he sold it to me for $150. The vacuum (c3 Kona) is about a few years old and still in a great shape. I don’t know if i got it in a good deal or not. Brand new on EBay is around $570 but on Amazon is more. Any advice !
I’m hoping you could help. Im looking for the best vacuum cleaner for a medium sized American house. No pets, mostly hardwood floors and area rugs. Wall to wall carpets in rooms (5). Mostly girls so a lot of long hair. And dad has long hair too. Price range $0-$800. Recently had a dyson v11. Any suggestions would help.
would you use one of these to vacuum a church ? seems like they would catch on pews... currently using my good ol' sharp twin energy 13 inch 9 amp i love how light and easy it glides . i like the sebo between the two . just found a winsor sensor s13 but the height doesnt work ,wasonly $13 at a goodwill couldn't pass up . but compared to the sharp . its a tank so much heavier i would get tired pushing and pulling that over an hour.
I would buy a commercial vacuum for doing commercial vacuum things these are premium home vacuums not designed to vacuum at church or large office space.
I recently purchased the Miele excellence on sale for $699 CND. It’s still in the box, because I was thinking that if I saw the sebo E3 on sale after Christmas, I’d return the Miele. So far, no sales- the sebo is still $999 CND. I only have a couple of weeks left in my return window for the Miele. Just wondering if the sebo is worth the $300 extra. I’m so torn… would appreciate your opinion. Thanks
@@PerformanceReviews so, if you saw the Miele excellence for $699 and the sebo e3 for $999, which would you go with. Just wondering what’s your opinion. Is the sebo worth the extra $300?
I was going to purchase a Miele but after doing more and more research I am purchasing a Sebo in two days, right now it will be the D model, cost $1099 Cdn but I am sick and tired of buying low end vacuums and getting junk (one was not a low end, it cost $600 in 2006 and was still junk, everyone knows their name). I think Miele just has better advertising and word of mouth, I think Sebo is the better product.
Picked up the D4 today, the official dealer took $100 off and gave me a box of 8 filters at half price ($15). The new D4 comes with the better floor brush too, we were going to buy the brush when my wife noticed it is now included, good deal (the brush was only $30 anyway).
I don't feel it's down to better word of mouth, it's down to which features are a priority for YOU. for me, the HEPA system was my top priority, and as the reviewer here said, Miele has the best HEPA system on the market, making it better than a sebo if that were your priority. My 2nd top priority was sound - I have sensory issues with loud noise, and Miele is also the quietest vac on the market (when you use the low sound setting). That setting has been a game changer for me, honestly. I personally purchased a Miele a few years ago. I'm glad you're happy with your choice 👍🏾
If you live in the UK then the SEBO E3 wins hands down. For some reason Miele does not sell any electro brush heads in the UK nor do they sell any vaccuum that even supports them. Sebo, on the other hand, do have electric brush heads. No idea why Miele made this decision because it has nothing to do with wattage restrictions in the EU market. They use to sell power heads here after the restrictions came into place.
Do you (or anyone here) know where to find (if they are to be found) an adapter that will allow Miele attachments to be used on the end of a Sebo hose?
@@PerformanceReviews Haha... Not disputing that. I asked the question for a reason though ;-). I already have a number of Miele attachments but also have an E3.
Can I ask which store you work at? I'd like to purchase a Sebo soon for professional cleaning but I'd really like your advice on a few questions. If this is something you don't do I totally understand.
Any chance for a comparison between the Sebo D4 and the Miele C3? I want to like the sebos but imo they're so damn ugly! That said, if the D4 performs better than the C3 that's kind of a no-brainer.
The D4 is in a different class than the C3. Not in terms of performance but in terms of its mission. The SEBO D4 mission is to clean larger areas. With larger capacity and a 40' cord. I'd recommend you go to your local dealer and take a test drive no matter what you decide to purchase.
It really depends on the carpet. The Miele dose go a lit higher. I recommend you either bring a sample into your dealership and try it or buy from somebody who will exchange it.
@@nirajpathak3614 - I would not choose either for our home which has a lot of carpeting. An upright vacuum works much better for us compared to a canister unit.
I have a cleaning business. Mostly big residential homes. The Sebo E3 is what I'd recommend ALL DAY for residential cleaning. Sebo makes commercial vacuums but they are mostly uprights. I love canister vacuums for my business because they do everything. The E3 is ideal for a business because it's more sturdy, cheaper to replace parts, and cheaper bags than Miele. The E3 gives you tremendous portability, power and durability. In my opinion it's the perfect vacuum for pro-residential cleaning because it gets under everything. It also does an incredible job on upholstery and pet hair. The bumper around the Sebo will allow you to move faster through house without damaging their walls and furniture. The other huge commercial advantage of the Sebo E3 is the removable brush roll. Essential for deep cleans. I recommend getting the parquet twist brush Sebo makes, it's the best and fastest I've ever used for hard floors and getting around behind toilets and into small spaces. It's called the "SEBO Turn & Clean Parquet Brush 1327WS". I would marry that brush tool. I used a similar version for years with my old Miele.
I've never really understood the fascination with the speed control on most of these top end machines. I literally, NEVER use anything but max power. Never. Why would you? Maybe like if you own a super expensive real wool rug that you you don't want to thin out? Maybe? I can't think of any other situations where I don't want max suction, and honestly how many people actually own a real vintage wool rug that they are daring to vacuum and not hand rake anyway... I really hilariously love how they show pictures of "drapes" on the Miele low power setting. Who has ever actually tried to vacuum drapes? Let me tell you: it doesn't work. Okay you turn down the power....now you don't get anything off them anyway. Okay turn it up. Now you just suck the drapes into the vacuum. It doesn't work. On your furniture(Miele Setting #2) there is again....absolutely no reason on modern upholstery not to use max power. None.
The SEBO has an additional base plate that can be installed for this style of carpet. Miele has and it's high height adjustment. Both should get the job done.
My home tested very high for dander which my son is allergic to. I’m seeking a bagged vacuum with a closed system and excellent hepa filter. Can you tell me your top suggestions? Thanks!
That's the case right now with a lot of dealers they're really having trouble keeping up production. Germany shut down a lot during the pandemic and even after.
Nice video! Can you do a video of a D or D2 next time you get one in for service. I own a D and it was my late grandmother’s and am super interested in replacing the brushes and or bearing.
I am a viewer who read your post and wanted to supply you with one of Alex’s older podcasts on another Sebo canister with the same powerhead that contains that information. m.th-cam.com/video/i7XoWlVe12k/w-d-xo.html
I’m also sending a review of the Sebo Parquet floor tool wherein Alex demonstrates that even the bristles on Sebo floor tools are replaceable m.th-cam.com/video/lJygBd0-ahk/w-d-xo.html
I'm assuming we mean the SEBO D2 and D1 not the Rainbow D2 and D1 You would replace just the motor itself but that's pretty much unheard of. Those machines are still considered relatively new. I would consult your local dealer.
I went with the Felix and I love it, but I've always wanted to play around with a canister. That Sebo is slick! ...is it OK to own two vacuums? I'm tempted. heh
@@PerformanceReviews Apparently you're right--I snagged the E3 today. heh. Tomorrow, I'll unbox her and spend a blissful day cleaning. I'm wondering though: will the turbo brush and extended hose I bought for the Felix also work with the Airbelt? I asked at the dealer, but they weren't positive--said I might need an adapter. Not a huge deal in any case. Thanks for a great site!
I’m sold with sebo. I have ek360 power nozzle it does amazing on low profile carpet. It does good on my shag carpet could be better. I just not sure I’m sold with Sebo E3. Can you do comparison Sebo e3 vs Sebo d4?
So I finally took the plunge awhile back and bought a Classic C1, and I love it to death, but I find that the basic, air powered accessories I am stuck with sort of lacking when I have to do any rugs or the animal hair covered furniture. Our house is all hard floors, so it's difficult to justify, but do you think upgrading to either of these be worth it?
I would have your turbo tool service. On an area rug to that thing should be rather impressive. You might also need to upgrade to the new style turbo if you have one of the older style turbos.
Best comparison between the two I've seen after two days of surfing for information! Thank you!
When I worked at a large vacuum shop, and
we sold 15 different brands, Sebo was my favorite, their quality was the best.
I have been a dealer for both and my biggest plug for the Sebo is the parts prices are probably less than half
So does my top-of-the-line Miele C3 vacuum?
Man, they really fixed quite a few things on my new E3 premium. The woman selling me the Sebo really sold me on the power head, it’s just….beast mode. Plus parts are cheaper. Just wish the swivel induced turn in the head. The lack of angle in the connection makes your wrist input kind of meaningless. Otherwise it is so clearly a commercial product compared to the Miele, and is sooo low profile, can get under almost anything. I was lying down giddily cleaning all the way under the bed.
Just bought a Sebo E3 Premium. Thanks for the review.
How are you liking it? Any complaints? I'm in the market for the E3 and C3 but after trying them both in store, the E3s tapered hose felt more unwieldy and heavy especially when parking it.
Me too a black one. I had to special order it. It’ll be here Friday.
Filtration for me is everything, that's why I pick the Miele C3
Wow, what a helpful video, especially since you're not being compensated by the manufacturers for your opinions so we can actually get objective advice. Thanks very much!
💯 Agree.
@@pheonixfps9248 And again - this is the type of commentary from people who REALLY use these machines. Thank you for adding so well to the discussion!
I love Miele but the removable brush roller sold me on Sebo. I take that thing out ALL the time. Clean it, sanitize it and pop it back in fresh as a Daisy. 🌼
For me it’s going to be Miele to the moon and back. I can’t stop talking about my c1 cat and dog to my family and friends. Great video!
Haha I was the same way when I got my Miele c3 cat&dog 😆
@@justRoRo Your C-3 was made in Germany… The C-1 is made in China...
@justRoRo I have the C1 Pure Suction and I have more fun with this vacuum than all the uprights Ive ever owned combined. Lol
@@upy0ur5 I was going to get a C1 pure suction, but I have wall to wall carpet in my living room, so I bought the C1 Cat And Dog because it had the electro plus cleaning head.
@mielec1catanddog336 how is the electro plus cleaning head? I have all hard floors and I never knew the C1 Cat & Dog could use powered heads.
I'm glad you've made this video! Even tho I won't buy I was still interested to see your comparison.
Thank you for the informative video! I've had a Sebo for almost 20 years and it still works. Now I am looking for a light weight canister to keep upstairs. Also, now that I am divorced and retired, price is more of a factor.
Glad it was helpful!
Seems like a Sebo Felix would fit the bill, even tho it's a hybrid upright/canister, it is a better value when cost is a consideration.
sebo k series
“Nobody’s ever complained about having 3 extra inches.” That sent me dude. 😂
This is good to know. I find my Miele power head to be very heavy, but I thought it was just me being weak 🤣
Many Miele machines are now made in China and the bags now cost $29.99 for a pack of 4….
That's a lot of good vacuums in a short amount of time
@@PerformanceReviews i know right ! The miele was a lucky find on ebay that i had to have ! In the uk the miele machines with power heads are very rare.
I like them both, but I lean a bit more towards the Sebo. I have always liked the power nozzle better.
To greatest thing about the Sebo... is that the handle can bolt directly to the power head. Its amazing for doing stairs... and sofas.
Yes they both can do that.
I like the Miele canister, and the Sebo power head. 😮
me too
If I had to pick for durability I would take the Sebo if I wanted features I would go with the Miele
Might want to mention the optional ET-1 high airflow front bumper as it minimizes plush carpet bogdown. Wrt overheating, Sebo confirmed the E3's power button light will turn red when its canister motor overheats.
I'll have to overheat one to find out. The main purpose of buying SEBO is that it won't give you problems.
I'm pleased to say I now own both the Sebo E3 and the Miele C3. I do like the C3 more..
I have that miele
Why do you like the C3 better?
@@davidg426 I like the way it grooms the carpet
@@davidg426 It is not made in China… Miele is now manufacturing in China...
Wow, what's your safe little life like
How fors the Sebo E1 compare? Someone is offering. Miele C3 for the same price. Trying to make the best decision. I have mainly hard floors and cats. Kitty litter and pet hair as nain concern same with air filtration
You do a nice job with your videos. Very informative.
thank you for posting this. you did a wonderful job
It's gonna be Sebo all the way for me. Love my Felix.
I have a one bed apartment and used it half hour. every day. Make sure to only use genuine bags and change the filter as required
I just bout a c3 as well.
Sounds like you got a defective wand. Ez fix
Of the two, which has a better clearance for cleaning under low furniture? It looks like the SEBO has a lower height than the Miele. Is this correct?
I’ve had my Miele 20+ years with no issues. Love it still. Hasn’t really changed in all these years.
This guide is only for the United States. Europe gets completely different machines.
Do you have the powerhead clearance? I have dressers on short legs (3.5-4 inches). A lot of canister heads are too tall to fit underneath.
Both are very reliable. But like any other machine you must maintain it properly for it to work.
Awesome! Thanks for the reply and the video! Appreciate them helping me do some research before getting on of these.
Both of these are great canister cleaners, I think you probably get more for your money with the Sebo though.
Miele is a bit better
Yes,You guys get cucked in Europe. I would buy a Henry Xtra 160 in the UK
All vacuum cleaners exhaust hot air.
That sounds awesome! A little bit of plastic polish . A headlight kit for a car is a good thing if you really want to get it looking good.
I would love that meile with a powerhead.
How small is the motorized is the Miela
Which ones head glides over carpet better, smother, easier of the two?
Really depends on the carpet. The body of the SEBO is slick underneath so it glides easier on carpet. The nozzle of the Miele has an extra height adjustment and larger Wheels allowing the nozzle part to move a little easier than the SEBO on hi pile carpet.
Great review, thanks - how does the weight compare between the two?
Will there ever be a sebo upright buying guide/comparison in the future?
The Felix the one you want then.
Really torn on which to get and I've been comparing for months. I'm looking at them specifically to handle pet hair, and that's unfortunately not something testing at a shop will help with, haha.
Right now, I'm leaning towards a Miele because I can get a kona used like new and the differences between the cat/dog and the kona seem minimal.
what you would recommend for hard floors and furniture?
Is the C3 still worth it without the powerhead?
How do you think these vacuums compare to the ZeroG, which is working its way up to being at a similar price point as these? With the frequent sale prices on Sebo and Miele, they're even more comparably priced. I'm especially curious about how the power heads compare. I really like the idea of a power carpet head, but it doesn't seem to be something that's offered on many vacuums.
Yes I'm curious about this as well. Is the ZeroG more powerful? I want my old carpets to look revitalized.
That's an amazing deal the MSRP is $1100 right now on that Vacuum

I recently purchased the Miele excellence on sale for $699 CND. It’s still in the box, because I was thinking that if I saw the sebo E3 on sale after Christmas, I’d return the Miele. So far, no sales- the sebo is still $999 CND. I only have a couple of weeks left in my return window for the Miele. Just wondering if the sebo is worth the $300 extra. @@PerformanceReviews I’m not sure what that means. If you’re in the US and you’re dissing Canada, that’s pretty funny.
Do you have a review for wet/dry vacs?
Dyson lol
@@weasel6535 how are you liking it?
I don't feel it's down to better word of mouth, it's down to which features are a priority for YOU. for me, the HEPA system was my top priority, and as the reviewer here said, Miele has the best HEPA system on the market, making it better than a sebo if that were your priority. My 2nd top priority was sound - I have sensory issues with loud noise, and Miele is also the quietest vac on the market (when you use the low sound setting). That setting has been a game changer for me, honestly. I personally purchased a Miele a few years ago. I'm glad you're happy with your choice 👍🏾
Dyson lol? In the 2006 one?
Is it okay to pull the Miele units by the hose in the long run?
Yes of course.
I like the look of Sebo over Miele.
Great information! Thanks for all the detail
Glad it was helpful!
My personal opinion is that Miele is heavy to use , if you have stairs in your house..
The Sebo Premium Parquet tool is the best tool on the market. Remove the front brush.
Superb review, thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Do you (or anyone here) know where to find (if they are to be found) an adapter that will allow Miele attachments to be used on the end of a Sebo hose?
Why not just use genuine SEBO attachments? They have most of the same attachments available
@@PerformanceReviews Haha... Not disputing that. I asked the question for a reason though ;-). I already have a number of Miele attachments but also have an E3.
Performance reviews as a vacuum technician what do you think of the bissell big green carpet cleaner
It's on my recommended list of carpet shampooers. I like the machine.
@performance reviews - will the Sebo powerhead cope with high pile carpet on setting 4?
It really depends on the carpet. The Miele dose go a lit higher. I recommend you either bring a sample into your dealership and try it or buy from somebody who will exchange it.
If you had to choose between these two machines, which would you choose and why?
@@nirajpathak3614 - I would not choose either for our home which has a lot of carpeting. An upright vacuum works much better for us compared to a canister unit.

Love your chair at the end of the Video where can I get one of those? Thank you for this video.
It's known as an "Eames chair"
Thank you. Is it comfortable?
Very comfortable
Do you think either one of these is a good vacuum for my cleaning business?
SEBO makes commercial vacuums and suggest you get one of those models.
Excellent comparison. Very inclusive
None.
Dusting is the primary reason one would turn down the suction.
I use that feature on to dust drapes and lampshades, and vacuum floormatts.
Agreed, it has a computer board that will burn out as well.. A "suction regulator" on the handle is sufficient..
Which is best for high pile frieze carpet?
The SEBO has an additional base plate that can be installed for this style of carpet. Miele has and it's high height adjustment. Both should get the job done.
My home tested very high for dander which my son is allergic to. I’m seeking a bagged vacuum with a closed system and excellent hepa filter. Can you tell me your top suggestions? Thanks!
I wish I could see these products in person and test them. But the the dealer that carry’s the Miele only had the filters and bags on display.
That's the case right now with a lot of dealers they're really having trouble keeping up production. Germany shut down a lot during the pandemic and even after.
@@PerformanceReviews that’s sad. I need vacuum and was about to get a dyson but after seeing these two great vacuums I would rather wait.

I’m also sending a review of the Sebo Parquet floor tool wherein Alex demonstrates that even the bristles on Sebo floor tools are replaceable

I hope that helps
I'm assuming we mean the SEBO D2 and D1 not the Rainbow D2 and D1
You would replace just the motor itself but that's pretty much unheard of. Those machines are still considered relatively new. I would consult your local dealer.
Thank man!
Is the K1 much of a step down. I love the pink one !
That's a hard floor only vacuum.
I only have hard floors so is it the same then
I went with the Felix and I love it, but I've always wanted to play around with a canister. That Sebo is slick! ...is it OK to own two vacuums? I'm tempted. heh
You can never own to many vacuums
@@PerformanceReviews Apparently you're right--I snagged the E3 today. heh. Tomorrow, I'll unbox her and spend a blissful day cleaning. I'm wondering though: will the turbo brush and extended hose I bought for the Felix also work with the Airbelt? I asked at the dealer, but they weren't positive--said I might need an adapter. Not a huge deal in any case. Thanks for a great site!
Do either have edge cleaning?
Both Edge clean very well.
The Miele looks nice
Compare them to the Siemens Z 7.0
Great video! Very impressive
They are both great I love both
I’m sold with sebo. I have ek360 power nozzle it does amazing on low profile carpet. It does good on my shag carpet could be better. I just not sure I’m sold with Sebo E3. Can you do comparison Sebo e3 vs Sebo d4?
I have a video between all the canisters right here.

@@PerformanceReviews OMG I miss this. 😂🤦🏻♂️
Great video ty
So I finally took the plunge awhile back and bought a Classic C1, and I love it to death, but I find that the basic, air powered accessories I am stuck with sort of lacking when I have to do any rugs or the animal hair covered furniture. Our house is all hard floors, so it's difficult to justify, but do you think upgrading to either of these be worth it?
I would have your turbo tool service. On an area rug to that thing should be rather impressive. You might also need to upgrade to the new style turbo if you have one of the older style turbos.
