Batik Making (Shibori dyeing Box pattern)

This video shows you a shibori dyeing tutorial of a box pattern)
Steps
1. Fold the fabric several folds lengthwise
2. Fold again hoizontally
3. Tie the fabric with a thread, make sure its tight
4. Wet the fabric
5. Start dyeing each section with a different color
(We used black textile dye)
6. Let it sit for 30 - 45 min
7. Put it facing the sun
8. Remove the threads
9. Wash it

Is vat dye the same as the tie dye

Vat dye is the type of dyes(colors) used, tie dye is the method (technique) of tying a fabric with a thread for example in order to create a pattern when dying

Here you can say you don’t have the third color. I a going to try I have a acqua green fabric very light, I fold just like you did and I am going to dye in navy blue only, any suggestions. It is for a male shirt I pre cut the pieces

There was a little bit of light blue formed as a third color it's not as visible as the yellow color in the pink fabric.
I think yours will be amazing, I love the idea of green and blue, perfect colors for a Male shirt, just make sure the thread is tight after folding the fabric, and give it enough time in the dye.
Are you using VAT dye as well?

@@rilaandmel3842 Hi girls no I used the RitAid and worked well, I live I’m Palm Springs area, I try to find other dyes other than RitAid and I did not found. I will by from Amazon they have, do you know Procioum(?) dye ,, what about the VAT is a good one? Liquid or powder? Expensive? Good results? Thanks for the help

@@betosombrio3377 VAT dye is a good dye, it's what we have been using in all our fabrics, its cheap here, and it's the one which is mostly available. The vat dyes are powdered dyes, you mix them with caustic soda and sodium hydrosulphate and hot water.
