try dying over a grate or in a colander to keep from over dying and having your material sit in the muck of the dye bath to get better color separation. o love the outcome but 30 years of dye experience tells me there is much more you can achieve even with a single color over a pre-dyed surface. never stop learning in this work and you will discover that it will always amaze.

Is it warm or hot water you guys put on it first before the dye?

We use cold water to wet the fabric
Hot water is used during dying mixing it with the chemicals and dyes
