Omg I'm so glad I found this. I just bought a gorgeous leather jacket second hand and COMPLETELY missed the fact that it was listed as brown, because the pictures looked like a faded greyish black. I was so bummed out, so I'm happy to see that this actually seems easy enough in a video. Thanks!
Very informative. Just purchased a silver leather jacket for 20 dollars still with tags on...brought it home and my son said it looked too flashy...fits so well though...thinking of dying it at some point
Just turned a knee high heel pair of off white boots to a beautiful cognac color and they look and feel amazing. I used the brands you did and the boots look like brand new again.
At first I was not a fan of the idea since I thought the brown looked really nice and vintage, and black is pretty "basic" nowawadays, but it looks SO good! You did an amazing job!
Thank you so much! Yes, I was worried this DIY would be a "waste" in a sense because someone else would totally prefer it as a worn brown. I'm so happy it turned out well so now I can wear it to death
I followed your instructions to a T and the result is great. I purchased a synthetic bristle SLANTED brush on amazon. The slant helped get into tight places. Thank you for this tutorial.
Awesome video. I found a beautiful Wilson bomber jacket, but there is a whitish stain on the sleeve, but after watching your video I'm buying it. Thank You so much!!
I've just did my black leather jacket, not so black though 🤭 and I followed your advice and looks amazing. Also I've been using the same products as well 😍 thank you😍
It seemed to come out with a warm black. which is really good. Do you think if you have done a second coat it would be a truer black? Thank you for sharing this! I am totes doing this to all the brown leather stuff I find now!
Right after dyeing it was a warm black, and then after applying mink oil you can see a clear difference and in person it's almost a true black! I think because of my colour grading, the video is a touch warmer as well, but it's possible it could be even darker with a second coat!
Hey I’m looking to do a similar thing with my jacket I was just wondering how the dye held up after a year? I’m not so worried about it fading as long as it still looks black. :)
I’ve just bought a vintage Diesel leather jacket and it has some wears of use all over. The idea you did is one of the best video I’ve seen🙌🏻 I will be doing this very soon👍🏻
Superb tutorial expertly edited. Just the info I required, my vintage black motorcycle jacket is showing through brown patina so I'm going to follow your steps to re-dye it black.
Wow, you did a great job on that jacket. Looks great. I am going to dye my bike seat. I have a two tone seat black in the sides, and a brown leather seat. My bike is pretty much all matte black, engine and all. The little chrome that it did have has already been switched out, the top of the seat is the only thing left. Wish me luck, and thanks again!
It looks really good! I’m ready to do it on a fringed leather jacket (black and brown) ugh. I’ve had this fringed jacket for years and have never worn it because of the ugly color.
Great job! I'm loving the jacket in black, way better.👍🏾 What made me laugh was, "This isn't child proof, Its everybody proof."🤣🤣 I feel you, anytime I try to open anything child proof. 🥰
I wouldn't have the patience to do all that. I have 2 luxurious black leather biker jackets and 3 pairs of black leather jeans. I'm looking to buy a black leather trench coat soon.
Hello..I'm new to your channel. What a great transformation for this leather jacket! Beautiful job! I have sun bleach on the arm of my brown leather jacket and I need to redye it ( or make an attempt).... Thank you for sharing this inspiring video!
I'll be doing mine soon. Did the hardware get brighter on it's own or did you clean off the excess dye? Cause, I'm kinda hoping the shiny silver stays blacked out a little..
I just bought a very nice leather motorcycle jacket. It looks like an Elvis tour jacket.with Red and black and white .. I want it all black. I hope this works
Great video thanks for sharing, I hope you don’t mind if I mention you in the future on my channel. I will be look at restoring some old motorcycle leathers. Cheers Nuffys Builds
How do you think this technique would work on a tan vtg ( schott) Moto Jacket? Do you think a black dye job would be successful, or should I just recondition the old leather, leave it tan and not risk ruining it?
Doing this also dyed the stitching? I'm wanting to dye a grey leather jacket to black and was wondering about this. I figured the stitching wouldn't take the dye, but it looks amazing either way. And you dyed yours from brown. At least grey is a bit closer to black.
Thanks for sharing! May I have the product number as I see there're quite few of bottles. I need a one particularly for leather jacket (black). Thanks!
I'm dying brown leather pants I found 4$10dollar make ya holler @thrift store yeah. I'm dying them black to match jacket. Cost efficient kinda ..time consuming a pain in my ass but worth it lol. 10days in ty for this so I can complete the finishing my fun project ty
I dyed my $1200 leather jacket in jet black Angelus dye and applied LP on it, problem is lot of dye is bleeding making everything like hands black, any help? Thanks

Great job. Turned out looking amazing. I actually preferred the brown but I understand why you’d change it. The end result looked professional.

Thank you just got my brown dye for an airforce military bomber brown leather. acetone now and now minkoil paste .
Cool thanks
It looks slick in black. I’m about to do this to an old brown suede jacket.
Thanks heaps for the video. Im about to colour change my motorcycle suit from white/black to all black. Hopefully it turns out this good!
This chick is resourceful and absolutely adorable!

AMAZING JOB... INSPIRING....ACETONE.... 1) WHICH DID YOU USE 2) THINK THE NAIL POLISH ACETONE WILL WORK (or is that the same)?
I just bought a leather jacket from the thrift store for $20. I will definitely be doing this to it to restore the leather. Thanks.
Whoa! You look totally rad in that black leather jacket! Vroom, vroom!😎🏍
Thanks for sharing your video now I have a question for you any suggestions on how to dye mens wool long coat.
Thanks 🙇🏻

Lovely outcome.
Hi, how did the jacket hold up? Was there any colour transfer to handbags? Thank you :)
Really nice result. Well done!
Hi Letitia, how can i remove bright brown colour on my leather jacket and then dye to black?
Do you recommend taping off any silver hardware to avoid staining? Or is it not necessary?
This is a BOSS ass video! Thank you for posting.

Does anyone know what the name of that dye was I didn't catch the name

Is isopropyl alcohol the same.? Doesn't acetone smell bad.?
Can i do this with pleather?
This video was so useful! Can't wait to try my pants.
Fantastic job, Letitia! 😊
Can't wait to see you wear this in person!
Does the dye paint run off should it rain?
How has it held up?

Where did you get the jacket from?
I have a blue lamb skin jacket that I'd love to dye black. I'm so nervous though! Considering trying to find someone professional to do it.
Did the dye stain the buttons at all? I’d like to do this on a brown belt I have, but it has a lot of silver hardware I don’t want to ruin
hi please do you know if can i use mineral oil as a conditioner for a soft leather coat?
Omg this looks fantastic
I don't think you'd even notice it used to be a brown jacket
That came out gOod
How much quantity you consumed for 1 jacket? Thanks for sharing your video
It doesn’t do color transfer?
Did you ever wash this jacket? I have heard some people wash their jacket at cold temperature. Would this color be waterproof?

how did it hold up so far??
This is exactly what I needed! Thank you!
How long did you have to dry it out before you applied the sealer? Or do you do that immediately after you dry it with a rag?

Looks great, and awesome instructions! Any idea if this would work in reverse? I have a black jacket and chaps I’d like to make a vintage brown.
You can not dye it a lighter colour only darker.
Only leather paint would be able to make it a lighter color but you wouldn’t be able to get a vintage looking brown on it
Love! You did an amazing job
Thanks Jasmine!
going to attempt this with a sherpa lined/collared jacket...pray for me
Whats the name of the dye?
What a great idea! I really want to try this on an ivory leather jacket I have. Maybe dying it a light brown would work. Love you and your videos!
Yes! Keep in mind streaky/blotchiness is easier to tell on lighter pieces. Good luck!
I wonder would this work on a tan leather skirt?
Wowww sis you did a great job !
this is so cool! Love your videos💞

GAP sold leather jackets?
Fun fact: Gap clothing has the manufacturing date on most clothing 🌟💡
Is 1 Bottle enogh? 118ml?or?
❤️
yup, one bottle is plenty for a jacket!
Hi, great job. The jacket looks new. Is it real leather or faux leather?
Easy peasy good video
I really have a light brown leather jacket compared to yours, it's really brown. So would this work for me?
you can apply a second layer if the first layer is fully dry.
Great ! Thanks for the Great Tips!
I have polyurethane “leather” pants. How do you suggest I dye them?? I’m worried the dye will just bead off when I try.
Yes, unfortunately as PU is a synthetic, non porous material, it cannot be dyed
Shoot...even if the polyurethane is quite soft? It’s nylon on the inside don’t know if that makes a difference
