    I think that not attacking Bretonia was a good move. Having them alive and not at war with you gives you time to build up your gates and secure defensively your other regions, while you let them fight with your other enemies as well. Taking their territories would leave you open to attacks from every direction with few stacks and not a strong economy to defend everything. I am sure you would manage to recover any potential losses, but still, not attacking Bretonia seemded like the right choice. Unless they attack you first and by surprise of course. Oh man, I resume the video to see if I just made a fool of myself.

      Haha, that was pretty much the idea. It's worth it if they fight our enemies, but another headache if they attack shortly (especially while Karl is away). The thing that tempts me is Bretonnia is pretty rich - Couronne, Bordeleaux harbor, and a bunch of ports and trade good territories. Though if they get overwhelmed I guess it'll sort itself!

    I only enjoy watching/playing as the empire in this game. And I can only enjoy watching your channel among the others due to your cinematic battles . Fantastic work and can't wait for the next episode.
    ❤ from malaysia.

      Hey thanks a lot, much appreciated!
      You only like Empire? Not Cathay? They've got a lot of similarities in playstyle.

    Nice video, and good defence against skaven. And I think it woud be beneficial for you to build a farm at wasteland region. To help with development faster(population).

    lol how did those halberds break when your army only lost 1 unit?

  • @Banksy_Collective
    @Banksy_Collective ปีที่แล้ว +2

    They should change the skaven ai to prioritize tearing down the walls instead of climbing. Their morale is too low and break while climbing so the one who climbed freak out and die. Thematic for sure but makes skaven weak.

    Keep the bretonnians alive and they will help by becoming your buffer state protecting your western borders from your enemies and buy you time to react against enemy armies that are approaching your territory.
    Pls keep the halbediers as your permanent flank defense since with the Reiksguard fit more in the role of heavy shock, not good for defending the flanks especially against large units like the greenskins trolls.

      They'll probably stick around until the mid-game, but I imagine lategame will see them replaced by demigryphs with halberds in the main army. They're just too fragile.

    Probably colonize Gisoreux and trade it back to Loue just to get some non aggre or some treaties and then hold the line in the forts and farm the "player bias" for +reps just so you wont have to deal with the sudden urge for expanding imperial ambitions in Bretonnian lands. Loue can be a great asset for you to defend the west ngl to reconcile your differences due to the Marienburg fiasco (assuming he's going to be alive for long)

      Just as the way Bretonnia is looking, the Empire is peaceful.. too peaceful. Even with Vlad and Festus around compared

      Great idea, I'll be sure to give it a try if there's ever not like 6 armies waiting just outside the fort(s).

    I think it'd be cool, although not exactly practical, to base an army on "Pike and Shot" tactics from the 15th-16th century.

    • @RuinousInsight
      @RuinousInsight  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      The main issue with these formations is that weren't designed with spells, big artillery, or monsters in mind - though I'm sure they would work against some factions. Either way there's definitely gonna be a guns 'n' halberds army.

    Festus also gives replenishment so that would help.

    Vassalize Louen at a later date and give him his regions

      Hmm, is the empire even capable of vassalizing? I gotta double check.
