    United provinces is basically the Dutch Republic... no idea why Luxembourg would form that nation

    • @Wilbtube
      @Wilbtube 5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Because Luxemburg was one of the original 17 low countries. The United Provinces (1587-1795) were just the northernmost 7 provinces. If the reformation had penetrated deeper to the south (or if the Hapsburgs had been utterly defeated) Luxemburg would have been united with the Republic rather than enter into a personal union with the Kingdom of the United Netherlands, in 1815.
      Also: the Duchess Josephine was a Nassau (the catholic and junior branch of the Dutch royal family). The ties just keep adding up.

    I'm almost addicted to playing as micros! Luxembourg, Malta, Liberia, Tuva, Bhutan! I don't 'hack', but I enjoy it better then the majors. Most don't matter, but like hell does Luxembourg! A well played Lux is a bulwark against it's aggressive neighbors, a foot hold for distant factions, and a thorn in the side of any nation who seeks to crush them!
