Russell Morgan takes on things are spot on.
The discussion about "What was the plan" was a really good one. My guess is that it went like this;
RB: We're gonna trade for PLD, make him the 2nd line Center and cause real issues for Edmonton and everyone else!
TM: Sounds good, he'll have to earn his ice time though, he won't be given anything.
RB: I think that's fair, I'm sure he'll make the decision easy for us.
Result: Yeah, no. Didn't work out, and with Hiller probably looking at the same philosophy about minutes for next year I think this was a terrific decision. Also, I LOVED the fact that RB took full responsibility, didn't bash the dude on the way out, very classy.

Hey Eddie Listen every day here. Nice seeing you and Russell talk about the Kings. The Kings need to remember that they can't coach size. The king should get Tyler Bertuzzi and Tyler Tofoley. No Lewis or Lozzette please. No Englung. Get one or two gritty bottom-6 forwards.

Crossing my fingers for EJ Emery
Guentzel at 30 years old for long term contract potentially 9 mil or higher? Do we really want to do that? Necas in Carolina supposedly wants out. He is a center and only 25 years old. I would rather go after someone like that if available. Might take #1 pick and roster player to get him. Spence?
It is a really rare opportunity to be able to acquire a 40 goal scorer without giving up assets. He would be the scorer the kings need to take pressure off Kempe and create two lines with 40 goal scoring instant offense potential. Would be a huge get. Necas is good too but kings don’t need a center.
@jsshea3847 Pld was acquired to be a center. He never panned out unfortunately. Kings currently have two centers in Kopitar and Denault. Kopitar has two more seasons left before retirement. Bringing in Necas at 25 sets kings up with two young centers in Byfield and Necas moving frwd. Yes I do agree with Guentzel coming in and scoring goals but at 30 and potentially 6 or 7 year contract at around 9 mil a year, that's a risky investment.
