    Thank you for posting this. I've had an old lamp similar to the one you were working on and I finally began restoring it. I thought I had mapped out the wiring as I took it apart, but I made some mistakes when writing them down. Thanks to your diagram I've got everything all set. Thanks again!

    Neighbor picked one of these up at an estate sale for a song. Wiring has disintegrated. She asked me to rewire it.The above diagram is a big help. This one has a light at the base of the pedestal. Really pretty.

      Complete success! Three way switch didn't work so opted for a 4 way, also got an adapter for that big central light bulb. Thanks for your help my friend.

    Thank you, I was having trouble rewiring the center bulb but it worked once I cleaned the contacts. Mine is a bit odd maybe 1950-80? If you pull the center rod down well all the light are on they turn off. I found out that it has has a inner button that turns them off when you hold it down and until you let go. Then the inner spring moves the inner rod back off the button and the lights go on. Its a old Laboratory brand.

    I have one of these and have re-wired the top part successfully, but am stumped by the light in the base.

    Wow I have the exact same lamp, it still works, I just want new wiring for it.
    Mogul based bulbs are still available on Amazon $7-$12 USD.

    I am attempting to re-wire the same style lamp, but am having difficulty pushing the wire through the S-curve of the arms. The old wire was too decayed and stiff to have used as a lure. Do you have any suggestions or tips to get the wire through?

      @rottnlove ปีที่แล้ว

      It is easier to tape some type of string or thin wire to one end of the original wiring opposite of what ever end you will be pulling on to pull out the old brittle wires which will pull the connected string or thin wire through with it. Make sure to keep this longer than shorter and you can use this to attach the brand new electric wiring too and pull it through like you pulled the original wiring out.
      It is always easier to pull something through a curving tunnel/tube than it would be to push it through.
      If you have already pulled everything out of these curving pieces, then your best option would be using some light weight thin string like sewing thread to either blow or vacuum through the curving areas so you can tie a heavier rope to and pull it through to use for the new wiring to pull it through. You need to make sure where the new wires are attached and also the material used to pull the new wire through are not going to come apart or break before you get the new wire all the way through.

      No just use a stiff wire as a guide then attach the lead to that

    I rewired one of these but the top 3 way switch on both my lamps does not go into the low and med. it only works on the higest do not know why but these lamps are great to have and i guess thats why the switches say 120 or 125v and 250v i never knew that i knew in other countrys that there is a volatge diffrance but i guess the swiches are made for interchangeable voltage

    Actually they still make light bulbs for the center light socket in those 1936 flor lamps, go to Http://www.elightbulbs.com tto loook at the lights you need, or just go to a wlmmart storre locatted iin Palmyra, Pennsylvania, and go to the light bulb aisle, and find it there. Those PS25ttype 3way bulbs only cost about 5 dollars there. I actually have one.
