Hey Sven, have you heard anything about SAP developing a new payroll engine that will replace the old SAP HCM payroll engine? Or is the just the old one moving forward - the schema, pcrs but in new shiny (cloud) packaging when the on prem supports ends in 2027? Thanks. Just wondering if my skills will go out of style and if i need to learn new ones lol
A completely new, cloud-only Payroll is officially being developed by SAP - usually referred to as "Next Generation Payroll". It's expected to be available for early adopter clients in UK as pilot country in 2022. But we can also expect that typical complex on-premise SAP Payroll customers in later countries like Germany or France will find the solution mature enough not before 2027 or later. The new solution is really great - I've seen UK demos live. But it takes time to catch up with 30+ years of development in dozens of countries.
