@@cobrafire5153 my brother has a krenko deck, and my friend has a squirrel deck. I built hapatra vizier of poisons. It's basically anti 1/1 token strategies. An it just fuels my board entirely.
You should do another 5 tribal deck. Rats, spirits, artifacts, fairies, beasts, merfolk, and dinosaurs would all be really fun to see budget suggestions.
Grolnok, the Omnivore is another amazing example. So many cards that are usually somewhat mediocre just fit perfectly into the permanent milling theme. Also, frogs are the coolest tribe out there.
small reminder here with ganax and Miirym: you actually get 4 Treasure Token because you also get a copy of the dragon you just cast and since Ganax counts entering not casting he counts the Token as well
One of my favourite budget decks is Geralf, Visionary Stitcher. I built the entire deck, sans lands, for about $30 at the time, and no rares. It's Wall tribal that very quickly morphs into Zombie tribal. So many Walls are *very* high toughness for their mana cost, and since Geralf only cares about the toughness, and Blue has a plethora of toughness boosters like Dive Down and Triton Tactics, you can *easily* get out a 12/12 Flyer by turn 4 or 5. Throw in a couple support zombies like Vizier of Tumbling Sands and Hordewing Skaab, the classic counterspells and some pillowfort cards, and you're set. Also, if you keep the actual Zombie count low in the deck, Empty The Laboratory counts as a cheap, no hoops tutor! I've received more compliments on this deck than any other, and it can hold its own quite well even against more expensive and powerful decks; I've even had a Prosper player team up with a Kotori player to take me down. Its biggest weakness is that the entire strategy relies on your commander, but as long as you can protect against removal, you're basically playing Blue Gruul.
Another pretty fun card to run with Miiryn is Druid's Deliverance, instant speed, only costing 1G you fog and then populate, adding more power to your own board AND it also costs cents, so when you bait your friend into full swinging for no damage and get away with extra dragons, remember me.
I have a very spicy pricey Krenko deck already, but you have inspired me to go make another goblin tribal deck that's budget. Love it. Great video. I love building tribal decks. Tribal is how i build most of my decks. Also, thanks for still saying tribal.
Honestly speaking, a great way to start off with a solid base to make into a mirryum deck is to pick up the red green dragon commander starter deck. It's only 20 bucks for a while deck, and by simply adding in some blue it instantly becomes a good starting point for miiryum. Honestly I'm tempted to snag one myself to start building.
I know it is old school and most people would agree it isn't a fun play Pattern, but Lin Sivvi, Defiant Hero and every white mercenary is pretty strong. No need to draw and board wipes don't matter with Lin Sivvi and mercs getting mercs at instant speed.
I just bought a copy of Miirym and plan to rebuild the Baldurs Gate dragon precon in Temur. Of note, if Ganax is cast after Mirym, there'd be two copies of Ganax. Then any new dragon would copy, and each triggers each Ganax...for a total of 4 treasures each time a dragon ETBs 😃.
Magda is one of the most potent budget commanders there is. Dwarves and vehicles cost pennies each, and the Clock of Omens that makes her go infinite is under $1. Tutor out a Realm-Scorcher Hellkite (also under $1) to burn out your opponents with your infinite treasures.
Why is tribal a bad word? Every single race and culture (tribes are a group of homogeneous people correct?) has had tribes. There are African tribes, Australian tribes, Polynesian tribes, Norse and Germanic tribes, Celts in Scotland lived in tribes, Gallic tribes, ethnic people in China had tribes. So if the word tribe or tribal comes from pretty much every culture and continent on the planet, why is it bad to say 'tribal'?
A bunch of hippies out there getting offended by words they don't understand or getting upset on behalf of a whole group of people for petty reasons... I mean, the fact that wizards is putting effort into this while they can't seem to figure out how to keep standard an interesting format is baffling...
Containment Construct is a great piece in Varina, too... It essentially lets you cast your discarded cards... so discard the card you were going to cast and get the benefit and stil lget to cast it.
I recently switch my commander for my zombie deck from wilhelt the rotcleaver to varina lich queen and I must say varina does make the deck a bit more aggressive which is what I wanted.
Correct me if I’m wrong but if Miirym is on the board, and then you play Ganax, wouldn’t you make 3 treasures? One when the original Ganax comes into play, and then 2 more once the second Ganax comes into play? Then, if there are 2 Ganax, wouldn’t you make four treasures if Myriim is still in play? Just thinking out loud. Love the video!
Quick note: In the Miirym deck, Ganax is even stronger than you said! Once you make a copy of Ganax, both will trigger every time you play a dragon (like you said). But Ganax doesn't actually say "nontoken"! So every time you play a dragon, Miirym makes a copy, so you get 2 triggers each, for 4 total!
An amazing goblin for that deck that is basically oppressive to your opponents is goblin assassin! Yeah you’ll lose half the tokens you make But your opponents lose soooo many creatures
Does steel hellkite have the option of paying x=0 to blow up things like mama crypt? I know some abilities say x cannot be 0, but this one doesn't say it
I wouldn’t build a third of these as budget options. When you play Marwyn, Krenko, and Miirym I can’t let you do things. Regardless if you went a bit more budget.
I built a budget Miirym deck and then made some upgrades to it after i pulled a Roaming Throne… Making multiple copies of Roaming Throne because of Miirym, and then making copies of Miirym can get really out of hand, especially when you drop Galazeth Prismari and then create 15+ copies of it and make 15+ treasures, and then Commune With Lava 🤪
@@tylerwolf42 Nope, you declare it AS it enters the battlefield. So you get Roaming Throne in, Miirym creates a token copy, and then Roaming Throne sees the triggered ability and it gets copied again. I believe if you play Roaming Throne while Miirym is out, you end up with 3 Roaming Thrones. Each one copying Miirym’s ability for the next dragons you play. This happened in a game I played a week or two ago. I had 3 Roaming Thrones because of Miirym, and then I created 3 non-legendary copies of Miirym, and then dropped Galazeth. Each RT sees each of the 4 Miirym’s triggers, creating 12 Galazeth’s along with 36 treasures (RT copies each of the Galazeth ETBs). I played Commune With Lava using the treasures (which i don’t have to sacrifice to play instants or sorceries per Galazeth’s ability) and then exiled like 20 cards, one of them being Beacon of Tomorrow’s. Then I took my extra turn and played pretty much the rest of the spells, winning with Demanding Dragon, which makes target opponent sac a creature or lose 5 life. But Demanding Dragon got copied 12 times, and each one got their ability doubled by each RT, meaning I made my opponents either sac 36 creatures or lose 180 life.
@@tylerwolf42 Yeah, Roaming Throne is just absolutely nuts. If I hadn’t pulled it from a booster I probably wouldn’t have put it into the deck. It goes even crazier if I manage to play Old Gnawbone too
