Likewise. On both counts, it was my greatest ever live concert attendance, totally mesmerising.
If there was any kind of downside, it is that NOTHING since Earls Court in 1994 has ever come close.

I love young people who get excited when they first hear Pink Floyd. It's proof that their music is timeless and their lyrics are still relevant. I'm about to turn 60 and I've been listening to them since 1975. And they've been the absolute best for me ever since! Try to listen to anything from this concert and you won't be disappointed. For example, they played the entire album The Dark Side of the Moon as recorded, and of course the then new album The Division Bell. From it I recommend, among others, "High Hopes", where David Gilmour plays steel guitar, or "Coming Back to Life", in which he again plays a great guitar solo.

For selfish reasons (since I enjoy your reactions), I'd prefer you react to each song of this great concert, one at a time. Start at the beginning (Shine On You Crazy Diamond), then go through the whole set, song by song, in the order they appear. That should keep you busy for quite some time. But you won't regret it, since every song is stunning. And when you're done, you'll have an inkling of what Pink Floyd is all about. But only an inkling, for they have a vast catalogue of songs that stretch all the way back to the late Sixties.

A little background of this song, which is sad, they wrote this for their dear friend who had to leave the band, because of mental issues. Syd Barrett was also a gem, but if you get caught in a dark world it's hard to get out of it. This is a testament to people who suffer mental illness. It's a deep song and an honor to their friend. They made a few albums for Syd, btw.

You should do yourself a favor. If you really liked these two songs you should see/listen to the whole show uninterrupted. Don't select a few songs for reactions on TH-cam. This is one of the concerts you should see and listen to for you and not for us.There is enough music to react to on TH-cam after that.

Pink Floyd is the best Band of all time, no other Band can compare with them. In my think they are on the same level than Bach, Beethoven or Mozart. Their Musik can´t put in any categorie and they are not only transport Musik to you, also in the same time they send you emotions and feelings. Great reaction. Loved seeing the pure joy on your face. I was fortunate to see Pink Floyd 5 times during their Pulse tour (1994). 3 of the shows were in large stadiums with 65,000-75,000 people. Virtually everyone was singing their hearts out during Wish You Were Here. It was beyond magical. As others have pointed out, this entire concert is amazing. I would recommend watching the entire show start to finish, but a good next reaction would be Run Like Hell, which was the finale.
As for clapping vs. screaming - everyone is so busy trying to record the concerts on their phones now, they don't have their hands free to clap. Audiences seemed much more engaged before cell phones became a thing.

    The whole concert is awesome.
But there is just one song for which the studio version is, in my opinion, much better: The great gig in the sky from the album Dark side of the moon. The singer Clare Torry brings the emotions at such a high level never equaled live.
So my advice: first listen to The great gig in the sky studio version and then let your heart pulse with the whole concert
After that, you should be ready for the movie The Wall by Alan Parker with Bob Geldof
    Enjoy

Inna, Great reaction, but you really must listen to the entire Dark Side of the Moon album , it’s a concert album intended to be listened to all the way through, as one story with many different chapters …One song you have to react to is a “Great Gig in the Sky”, the studio version from Dark Side of the Moon…Sung by Claire Torrey, who was a hired professional British vocalist, and she basically adlibbed the entire song in one take…The emotions felt from her performance are just out of this world…. Good luck Jjh….

Love your reaction, so from the heart! This song too was from the heart. It is about losing the founding frontman Syd Barrett and talented band member to compulsive LSD use and Schizophrenia. Probably not caused directly by the LSD but aggravating his existing mental condition. The song was saying they missed him and wished he was here well and performing with them. 💔

The previous song finishes being sucked into a radio with the listener going through channels until he hears the guitar. He then plays along with the radio then the song starts.

Roger Waters said that when he wrote the lyrics to Wish You Were Here he had in mind someone close who had refused to move on in life and had been left behind. He also said that at other times it meant something else, and that some days he didn't really know what it meant himself. He deliberately made the lyrics enigmatic so that the listener could make them mean whatever they wanted them to mean, and they have become an anthem for anyone who has lost someone close to them.
The opening guitar chords were composed by David Gilmour who had in mind someone listening to a poor quality radio all alone in their bedroom late at night, and hearing the opening chords, and then joining in himself with the crisper sound of the second guitar. Overall, a stunningly beautiful composition, both instrumentally and lyrically, and a work of complete genius. I associate it with someone very close that I lost long ago and it never fails to bring a tear to my eye.
This was the first part of the encore, followed by Comfortably Numb, and finishing with Run Like Hell. There has never been a finale like it by anyone!

By all means, react to the entire concert. You'll get huge views, likes, subscriptions and more importantly, we Floydians get to watch the greatest concert ever produced.

My emotions are radically scattered in the psychedelic world as I watch your hypnotic dance of eyes (and fiery hairstyles), decorated with a bright smile and flashing teeth. The heart beats uncontrollably wildly on P.F. a brilliant legacy.. In you I find immense warmth, wit, as well as innocent vulnerability covered with charm and kindness. You are magnificently interesting to my imaginative, progressive insomnia: according to which life finally makes sense again. 😇

Don't get too caught up in the live versions of Pink Floyd. In almost every case the album version is far better (Gilmour's guitar solo from Comfortably Numb is an exception. Kudos for listening to that. as a Pink FLoyd intro) You should do multiple videos listening to Dark Side of the Moon, start to finish.

This was the first song of the 3 song encore.
You have already listened to the 2nd song, Comfortably Numb.
Im sure comments below will tell you the history of this particular song, but you should read about that, and also the meaning behind the song Shine on You crazy Diamond.

I was at one of the Earl's Court, walking in there was loads of signs saying "no smoking in the auditorium." As soon as Shine On started, the spliffs came out!🤪
