Really impressive! I read a comment that the 3 cylinder sounds better, and I tend to agree, although the 4 is still great. Multiples of 3 will make similar music, especially as the revs climb, so the 3 cylinder is closer to a V12 sound. Both engines are awesome, though. They beat 2-strokes or (horrors!) electrics quite decisively!

What a pair of beautiful birds. Background for filming was spectacular, snowy peaks, green fields what a place to fly and film Thanks Horst and a big thank you to the 2 gents and flying their passion..... Nicely done!
Many thanks my friend. Electric starters are also available on Moki radial engines. It makes much easier to start the engine and it's less dangerous too.
Nothing like confidently sticking landing then rolling out at will. Brilliant. Much prefer “non shows”. No announcers and cheesy music. Makes videos more intimate as well. Like your there with flying buddies. Cheers
Ahh - sweet music for sure... all that and two very handsome P 51's. Great flights - two happy pilots with grins (although they did look a bit serious)! Concentration of course :) What a lovely location. Two nicely greased landings. Usual super videography Horst, thanks.
Thank you for your kind comment, Chris. Much appreciated. 🤗 I have to mention that they flew the very first time together and therefore it was a nice show. _best regards, Horst_
Horst, everything in this video is perfect; the models, the flying & landings, and naturally, the sound....all amazing! Thank you for giving us another wonderful video!!
@@RCScaleAirplanes @RCScaleAirplanes Ah interesting. The 1/4 scale Spitfire is 110", and I always thought the P51 would be larger because it is so much bigger in other proportions... In fact is should only be 111"! The 1/4 Tempest is 123" wingspan - surprisingly big compared to the P51. You were right! :)
Que hermosos aviones!!! Yo soy de Argentina, y hace un tiempo vi uno real adaptado para fumigar los sembrados en unos campos de Tucumán, fue la primera vez que vi uno de cerca.
Very cool to see an RC model of my P-51 Nervous EnergyV. I keep it in a warbird hangar at Falcon Field in Mesa Arizona. I look forward to flying it next weekend for a flyby of the University of Colorado parents weekend football game.
Wonderful models. A friend of mine has the full scale “Nervous Energy” here in Phoenix AZ. If possible he’d love to talk to the pilot of the model. Anyway to get his contact info? Thank you
Call me crazy but just like Saito 4 strokes at idle these things sound like bubble machines. I don't like it. Off idle like flying they sound spectacular.
Sorry! But I'm so glad I only use electric now, when I see and hear these old planes that both clatter and make more noise than they should.🙉 Nothing to look forward to. But it's a nice feeling when you know you can avoid this yourself.😊👍

Hi Scott. Thank you for your kind comment which I really appreciate.
Glad you enjoyed the video. 😉👍🏼
That was awesome! Wish we had electric starters like that instead of flipping the props with our hands.
Or feet🤣

Beautiful! And the landings were fantastic! 😄
Thanks a lot!
I liked this from the moment the engines started with their own starter! Too cool.
Glad to hear. 🤗👍🏼

Those are perfect mustang. Just like the merlin was the perfect fit in real plane, the kolms are perfect for large mustangs. Brilliant and well flown!
2 amazing aircraft flown flawlessly by both pilots!🙂👍
Man they were gorgeous, argh I hope I can get to that league one day...
I think they are 1/4.5 Horst... 108" isn't big enough.
The wingspan of the full size P-51 D is 11.28 meters. The model has 2.75 meters. So the exact scale should be 1/4.1 😉

Just awesome!! The experience needed to fly them properly and of course not crashing has to be a lot of man hour's? Again fantastic build and flying!
Couldn't agree more. Thank you for your kind comment !!!
Those engines sound like they have bubbles in them or something at the start during the idle.
Very close to the local village. Any noise complaints?
No complaints at all.
Usually, model plane videos on you tube feature crashes, nice see no accidents. Those engines sounded like they were missing a little, is this normal?
Sounds like willy wonka's bubble machine while idling
YEAH 👍😉

Totally out of scale sound, besides I never heard an engine popping
