Honda quoted me $1,200.00 to replace our mirror assembly, and all parts are back ordered with no ETA for several MONTHS. The tools you recommended along with the assembly parts I ordered from Amazon cost under $200.00. Combined with your absolutely FANTASTIC video, it saved me over $800.00. Thanks!
Thank you so much!! I got a quote from the dealer to replace the side mirror, it was approximately $1200, bought the part for $90, and with the help of your video was able to replace it, and it's working fine. Thank you once again! you saved me big bucks.
Thank you for posting this video as your instructions were detailed and clear. Dealer wanted $900 and I laughed and said "I don't think so" then walked away. Found a mirror online for $75 and I already had the exact same spudger kit as you so I was good to go. The hardest part was getting the cap on. Using your instructions along with my good fortune of finding a mirror already painted the color of my car saved me $825. Going to reward myself with a nice steak dinner and I still will come out $800 to the good. Thanks again brother you got a big thumbs up from me 👍.
Install tip: My 2018 had a slightly different speaker enclosure. It had a long tab at the bottom that was tucked in behind the door cover. It was much easier to pull the top of the door panel away first and then remove the speaker. This is literally a 15 minute repair job and saved me a ton of money. Thank you!
Thank you very much. Mine is a Honda CRV Hybrid 2023. The driver’s side in the UK is on the right side, so the window control unit is much bulkier. So it’s slightly more difficult to get off - but smooth if you have patience. The whole process took me 15 minutes or so, because of the excellent video you have produced. I watched it about 5/6 times before embarking upon the project.
Thank you so much for this! The dealership wanted to charge $200 for installation and $750 for the part. I was able to find the part on Amazon for about $120 and thanks to this video I was able to save over $700! This was super helpful!
Bro…You are life Savior. Busted my 2021 Honda Crv car passenger side mirror..Went to the dealer and got $850 for Parts and $350 for labor with Total $1200…Followed your video and got my parts for my self for $450 and fixed myself..Saved almost $750.. No words to explain my gratitude to you. Video was crystal clear and instructions was so detailed.. Thanks a ton helping a family.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ ❤
Thanks for the great video! Honda wanted almost $700 to replace my driver’s side window ($180 for 2 hrs labor/installation included in that price). Currently there is a national back order on mirror assemblies with no ETA available. I got my aftermarket part through your link (about $90) in 3 days and installed it myself in 20 minutes. You made this painless and easy, and saved me $$$. Thanks again!!
Thank you for posting this video. The repair estimate I received from one of our local repair shops was $980.00. I found a replacement mirror assembly for 72 bucks after tax and shipping and had it installed in about an hour.
Thank you so much! Zero car experience & I just replaced my mirror myself. Super clear instructions & visuals from beginning to end. Really appreciate you making this video!
This video is OUTSTANDING, one of the best tutorials videos I've used.. Clear, concise and thorough. Followed along step-by-step and the whole repair took around 45 minutes and I was sipping coffee and taking my time. Same story as several commenters here - was sticker shocked by the price the dealership quoted me to replace it. Found this video and an aftermarket replacement on Amazon and did the whole thing no sweat. It's obvious you wrench on cars and know what you're doing and I really appreciated that you have the correct tools but offered suggestions of "common tools" I could use. "If you don't have this clip removal tool you can use a flat head screw driver". BOOM, perfect. I don't often comment but had to let you, and others, know how great this video is. Again, thanks.
Seconding the many comments here about how easy this made replacing my side mirror! Was done in under 15 minutes with no issues thanks to the clear instructions in this video (and, including tools, the repair only cost me around $100!)
Absolutely amazing video! My wife came home to tell me someone hit our mirror and didn't leave a note. We are about to leave for a family trip and I was able to order the mirror (driver's side). I am going to assembly once the part arrives, but this made me feel 100% confident to tackle this replacement! Thank you!
I just did one for a customer today and it is the 2022 model year CR-V. Same deal. You guys can update the title of the video to 2022 or even 2023! Great video and thanks for sharing!!
Not a car guy but this video was my first project on it. For those who might be in the same position as me the replacement he linked in the description worked for me still even though my 2018 honda doesn't have that speaker. Thank you so much!
Good video for DIY project. The only advice I would add is to test your installation prior to putting everything together. In order to do this you have to plug in all parts to complete the circuit (mirror, speaker, door panel). After I confirmed that the mirror, speaker and door panel electronics worked as expected then I snapped everything back together. Other then this point, the video is excellent! - I do agree with other comments that it was difficult to get the original cover / cap off the original mirror to reuse. I snapped a couple of the interior clips on the cover, but was still able to get a tight fit when re-applying it.
Thanks for posting this step by step instructional video. Performed the job with no issues. Saved a ton of $$. Honda dealer quoted me $480 for the part only (which was on backorder!). Found an exact matching oem aftermarket replacement on e-bay for $60. I'll also mention as others here pointed out that the panel with the door lock and window switch also needs to be plugged in before the mirror will work.
Thanks for a well made video. I love your narration and the fact that there is nothing superfluous or unnecessarily self-serving in the video. Repair videos need to be quick and accurate, with only the details needed for the job. Yours is just that, and much appreciated. I was able to get this job done in less than a half hour because of this video, and knowing exactly where all of the tabs are located for removing the door control panel and door speaker. That alone saved me a LOT of time, for which I am grateful to you. (NOTE: Unfortunately, my replacement mirror did not come with the little white clip that holds the mirror cable to the inside of the door (and also acts as a support connector for the speaker wire). However, I was able to depress the tiny little zip-tie tab on the connector and release it from the original wire, and reuse it again on my replacement mirror). Thanks again for a well-made professional video. Glad to support your channel. Skip Schaeffer - Burnsville, MN
Wow. Such a detailed video. I just replaced the mirror on my 2022 Honda CRV. $100.00 parts and 1 hour of my time. Like brand new. Thanks a bunch. You are a life (and $$$) saver.
I am very impressed to watch this side-view mirror installation video. I needed to know about this mirror replacement work because my CR-V needs the same mirror replacement on the passenger side. Now I know what to look for after I get the job done by my local auto body repair shop. Thus I have to check for the door seal, proper working of the little speaker and the proper placement of the inside door panel. Also, I am now considering to buy a new driver-side seat adjustment control unit for my 2020 Touring, install it by my-self to restore this adjustment mechanism, if possible. This instruction video is very well made for DIY people, and save money and time. Thank you!
This is an awesome video. I have never changed a mirror on a car before and this video let me do the entire job is less than 45 minutes start to finish. NO surprises and every step perfectly laid out. Thanks!
Great video! Without any knowledge in cars, I was able to change my driver mirror in less than an hour (but just because I didn’t want to rush anything). It saved me over 800$ from the dealership piece+work and it was very satisfying to do it!
Thank you for this video! You were clear on all the steps and made them incredibly easy to follow. I was able to replace my broken mirror by myself. You undoubtedly saved me money. Thank you!
Thank you! I just replaced my passenger side mirror today using your video. Saved me an expensive trip to the repair shop! Thank you thank you thank you!
Thanks so much for this, I installed my new mirror today. Honda dealer said new mirror was $720 and labor (w/o cap) and $180 labor(!!) So I bought your tack tool, which was really helpful. and Brock mirror for $80 from your link. The hardest part was getting my old cap off of my broken mirror/top and on the new one. I couldn't get my speaker connection apart but it just hung to the side, which worked. New mirror didn't come with a plastic white snap piece for the mirror power cord, so it's just hanging in there w/o it. And I forgot to put the long screw back in, ack! I wonder if that's bad. I can do it another day. Thanks again!!!
Thank you, for your great video. We had a hard time getting the mirror cap off the broken side mirror, but, after that, your step by steps instructions were perfect. Everything works, the new mirror is solid and I saved $400!!! Many thanks.👍
This is a great video. I was wondering if you could do the another one to show how ot remove the skull cap? I'm tyring to replace the led turn light with a sequential one. I got the skull cap half way out (just the top side) but the bottom was fighting me and didn't want to break it. Thanks in advanced.
I havent taken mine apart yet. But I'd like to think it's similar to what I did with my 08accord. You might have to remove the actual glass and get behind the motor that moves the mirror. There were screws behind it that kept my turn signals locked in
Perfectly detailed. Very easy to follow. I was done in under an hour. I wouldn't mind seeing a video on how to replace the color cover. Not sure how to remove it without breaking the 3 tabs.
Mike I snapped my left side mirror. Need to replace . When you take off the window control panel. There are 2 sockets in their aa against the one on the right as shown in this video. How do replace that
I wanted to share my experience with a blind spot message I was receiving prior to replacement. My 2017 CRV had the blind spot indicators in the mirror (no side view camera) and apparently the connection was damaged when the mirror was struck causing the message to appear. Based upon other posts, I was worried that I would not be able to reset the blind spot without help from the dealer. After replacing the mirror with OEM factory equipment, the message went away. No further action was needed. I'm guessing it was a communication error when a connection was severed during original damage. The replacement instructions in the video were over the top good and had installation done in maybe 20 minutes with a little of that time checking functionality before reassembling everything. Hope this helps.
I' about to use your video to replace my right hand crv mirror (this looks great btw...!!!) Is there any reprogramming that has to be done on the new/replacement mirror? (parts guy at my honda dealer mentioned this...thx...)
Mine is giving me an errror for the blind spot system after installing the replacement mirror. Any suggestions? The mirror lights up, all the electronics work. Not sure if the blind spot needs to be recalibrated or just do a reset?
Great video. I have 2018 CRV and need to replace the same mirror except that mirror itself alongwith camera etc are intact and working. So basically I need to replace bottom and top plastic covers for the mirror. Base is also intact and I can still push and close the mirror. I don't know if I still have replace the whole mirror from the base like you did or is there way to replace plastic covers without removing entire mirror assembly from the base ? I already ordered and received plastic top and bottoms covers through my Honda dealer by vin number
This is simple…the dealer repair shop wanted $1600, saying the need to recalibrate sensors, except there are no sensors in the mirror. Just LED’s and cords. I’ll definitely do this myself.
Is there a way to remove the cover for the mirror? The replacement we purchased does not come with the cover, but we were hoping to be able to use the old one.
I have just the passenger mirror that cracked completely and fell to the ground. The rest of the assembly is fine to include the mirror adjustment wheels (up & down, left & right). There was not a turn signal and or heater feature mirror. The dealership wants $635 to do this. Replacing the entire passenger mirror assembly.
Thank you to @DIYHonda for the phenomenally detailed and instructive video. I was able to knock this repair job out in less than an hour with this video!
The 2020 crv has slightly different designed mirrors, which honda engineers claim to make less wind noise at highway speeds. I wonder if I would buy the 2020 mirrors to put them in my 2018.
Hey Rafa I’m just starting the task of replacing my gfs 2021 CRV side mirror and your comment is the first I’ve heard of the mirror possibly being different after 2020. Wondering what you ended up finding out through your experience. Probably going to check junkyards first so it’d be nice to know if I can consider all crvs down to 2017 or not? Much appreciate any info you can share !
@@ziolino6689 2017, 18 and 19 mirrors will generate more noise. I never replaced them, so still not sure if they are 100 compatible with 20 and 21 models.
In Canada, Honda wants 1200 for the mirror base and 115 for the color matched cap. If you order #5 - 76201-t1w-a01zv $113.69 plus tax #8 - 76205-tla-a11 $80.01 plus tax You can replace the housing around the base of the mirror. Much cheaper but it was not a fun job to do.
So rare to get a video with such clear, thorough instructions. You didn't skip anything! Thanks.

They just changed me the same, about 1200. They’re are INSANE . Thank you so much to this creator
Wow, and all it cost me was an OEM mirror assembly (~$100), plastic pry tools (~$10) and just under an hour of my time.

How come there are so few thumbs-ups on the counter? This is an outstanding video!
Great video. Little things like this should done at home. Thank you for the video
hello! would this also work on a 2021 Honda HRV model??
Yep!
Are there other places/sites to order the replacement mirror part that are cheaper than the Honda dealer or is that really the best way to go?
Thank you to @DIYHonda for the phenomenally detailed and instructive video. I was able to knock this repair job out in less than an hour with this video!

My mirror has a camera in it. Will this also work? Or the camera wire has another setup?

I have 2018 CRV lx if I bought this mirror how could I can get blind spot monitoring system
This is EXACTLY what I needed. Thank for very much : )
Hi after replacement does the mirror needs calibration?
PERFECT instructions!! Thank you!!!
Thank you for saving my time and money.
any recommendations on where I can go to purchase the housing unit for 2020 crv ex?
Solid, and a money-saving video thanks
Awesome!! You saved my $300.
thanks for the clear and simple video.
In Canada, Honda wants 1200 for the mirror base and 115 for the color matched cap.
If you order
#5 - 76201-t1w-a01zv $113.69 plus tax
#8 - 76205-tla-a11 $80.01 plus tax
You can replace the housing around the base of the mirror. Much cheaper but it was not a fun job to do.
