So I can pop in to your pad for a visit to tell you some more of my stories of my 15 month road trip through Asia 50 years ago and my time in the US and NZ that cam after that..

      @@thomasmckenney3518 Hi Thomas I am always happy to talk about soil quality to anyone who is interested. Todd has just visited again a few days ago as we had a family wedding. Take a look at that to see the size o cassava root we get. What I do to the soil is to work with nature as opposed to trying to control it. I can get into specifics later, but main thing is to stop killing it with fertilizers plowing and pesticides. Feed the microorganisms, with animal or fish poo is the trick. .

    A great way to live, being self-sufficient. Chris is very resourceful and is a problem solver! The goats wander but wondering if the pigs are able to get out and roam around? They say happy grazing cows produce better milk and free-range chickens, more quantity and higher quality eggs. Even in a controlled area I'm sure that pigs would love it. Enjoyed the video and wish him best of luck on the leasing of the land!

    • @chrisperkins7331
      @chrisperkins7331 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with you about the free ranging of animals. Unfortunately they tear up the place and can wander onto other people land and cause all sorts of damage which we would have to pay for. The middle ground is using animal tractors which allow them to have accesses to fresh ground, whilst keeping them from damaging crops. This is my goal which I am working towards.

    I don't believe how he can live in Laos for 16 years. My cousin retired and went back to marry a girl in Thailand. He chose to live there but after 10 years, he missed his families in the US so much then he brought his wife with kid to live in the US and die there. We, Hmong, tend to have something attach to our families and friends then we can not go to other country and live there with different woman.

    • @chrisperkins7331

      Yes there will have to be a reset as the system is creating too much money in the hands of the few. You have to be debt free and on land that will grow what you need to feed yourself and those you care about. Also knowing how to fix things that will never war out (like the iron buffalo) will be also imperative. If you are dependent on the system then you have no chance.
