    If conditions look sketchy and you don't know the area, turn around and don't risk it. Unmarked trails are dangerous. Even local residents who do hike know when to go or to turn around. Condolences

    Used to hike that all the time when I was a kid, and yeah I wouldn't recommend it to Tourists/begginer hikers also if you ever drop something, never try to retrieve it, I almost slipped and fell to my death on another hike in Oahu, Beautiful but deadly stay safe and Aloha 🤙

    I do not know if this happened before or after, but another woman fell 20 feet trying to get to the third peak. Broke many bones. There is a difference between hiking and rock climbing.

    Condolences to the family! There is no rappelling down, it's rope climbing. And it's not 'rock climbing', as stated at time 1:02, it's 'rock scrambling'. I only did the first peak of Olomana (2013) and near the top of the first peak is totally rock scrambling. I thought it was fun, but then again I'm an avid rock and ice climber. Hiking and rock scrambling are not the same thing. Rock scrambling and rock climbing are not the same thing.

    Need to make a hui that monitors tourist with local provision. Pay fee, guidance, and limit the amount of ppl. First come first serve. No ins ands or buts.

    Isn't this place guarded by security guard at the front entrance and only members of the golf club are only allowed to enter?

    • @AMS-ri3xm
      @AMS-ri3xm 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No ,the road is long and eventhough there's a guard shack the golf course doesn't own the road

    We believe anyone who goes up on such a trail assumes all risk. Governments should have the wisdom to avoid closing areas or throwing up signs and hand rails and turning a wild place family friendly. No, we are not going to offer anyone condolences. We are sick as we are and shall stick to our own perspectives.

    • @7urbine

      Agreed on risks and not closing areas, but enlighten me: what harm comes from throwing up some serious danger signs?

    so tell me. if people know the trail is dangerous. why isnt it atleast marked so?
    why havent anyone set up warning signs??
    and the people living next door? couldent they have set up a sign?.
    heck if i lived there the first death ive would have heard about the first thing i would do is make a
    huge warning sign and set it there. im no pro at carpenting? / carpenter.. but heck id make a flimsy warning signs with grafitti skulls and
    "deadly trail" WARNING! atleast to try and hinder future deaths...

    What about the death trail on Kauai? That’s State sponsored . The Kalehau Trail? How’s that any safer?

      When it rains folks turn back on olomana trail ,hiking in muddy terrain that has drops is hairy and your pushing your luck

    • @AKFF320
      @AKFF320 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your point? Nobody said one was more dangerous then the other.

    • @MrHAPPYHAWAIIAN
      @MrHAPPYHAWAIIAN 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AKFF320 yes, as I remember emphasis was placed in not a State trail. Like a State trail is safer. We all know the State has neglected existing trails and more unsafe then this one.🤡

    Americas' insurance culture breeds stupidity. Insurance companies should identify all these locations and exclude from insurance.
